Who: Mohinder Suresh & Gabriel Gray When: May 7th, Saturday. Approximately 7.15pm What: Mohinder is curious about the paintings Gabriel keeps mentioning, and requests to see them. Where: Central Park, New York City Rating: Maybe PG-13ish?
It had been a long plane ride back to the United States, but Mohinder and Molly had slept pretty much the entire way. He was glad to have been reunited with the young girl again, but his thoughts constantly drifted to the Company; would they try to take Molly away from him and use her for their own personal gain? He wouldn't let that happen; she'd said it herself, that Mohinder was her hero, and he told her that he'd live up to that title one day. She didn't care to know about what happened in the months she was gone; Mohinder didn't have to tell her about the people he'd killed and maimed, or the lives he'd ruined.
Once he has Molly back home in the apartment in Queens, he takes his car down to Central Park. He finds some parking on the street and gets out, sending a text message to Gabriel to say that he'd arrived. The other had asked for a gift from India, but Mohinder, well, he was bad in the gift-buying department. He'd realized while looking for something in the markets that he really didn't know Gabriel's likes and dislikes (other than Chai tea) so he went with a safer measure. Although he wasn't very happy (and he would never tell Gabriel this) that a baby was being brought into this world to two parents who were absolutely paranoid about it, he'd found the perfect baby-ish gift. A mobile.
It worried Mohinder to no end; he was conflicted because he was so happy for his friend but at the same time, mortified for the unborn child's safety. What a better way to harness one of the most powerful men in the world than kidnap Elle, or wait until the baby is born and take him or her then? Gabriel had potential for complete destruction, and it was something that unnerved Mohinder from the inside out. He felt the same with Molly though; he'd do anything in his power to keep her safe, even if it meant he had to hurt others. He was more than certain Elle and Gabriel would be the same way, but at what cost?
He pulls his jacket tighter and walks into the Park, past the little lake and to a bench where he sits down, placing the gift beside him. Inside the park it was quiet, like a little piece of solitude in the cement world that laid only meters away. He sighs and closes his eyes, waiting for Gabriel to make his appearance, hoping the other hadn't forgotten about him.
