1. Be considerate. This rule is the first because it covers a lot of the ground that RPGs tend to have trouble in. The basic meaning of this rule is to think before you do something, and consider how it'll affect other people. We can't cover for every contingency of snafus, because that'd turn this into a novel, but we ask that you exert common sense and err on the side of caution when it comes to anything you could do that might be questionable.
2. Ask permission of other players for things your characters could do that affect theirs. This means no godmodding, and clearly outlining your plans/plots/what have you. This is mostly a curtesy issue. In addition, ask the mods before starting up any game changing scenarios.
3. No secret wank! If you have a problem with another player or a mod, contact the mods and we'll do our best to sort it out. We're not perfect, and we won't be mad if you disagree with us or think we've done something poorly. It's only pretendy funtime games, and we'd prefer that problems be dealt with before they fester and get out of control.
4. It's expected you post at least once a month, or have a plausible explanation for what your character is doing while you're occupied. If you have any reason not to be posting that isn't 'LOL your game suxors', that reason will more than likely be completely acceptable.
5. PBs! Your character should have one, and a photo-realistic PB is prefered, but if for some reason (let's say, for example, your character is a Smurf) a photo-realistic PB isn't acceptable, drawn images are also acceptable. If you'd like help finding a PB, just ask, and we'll be more than happy to pitch in.
6. Literacy is a must. We're not expecting perfect grammar or spelling, but solid English skills are required.
7. This game is rated R, so swear and wrong-do to your heart's content, but put violence and sex below a cut and post smut (NC-17 material) in your character's journal. Friendslocking such entries is a good idea.
Bios in the userinfo of your character journal or somewhere in their journal helps other players know who their characters are interacting with, and are required. These can be pulled straight from your app, and should include information on nasty surprises they might be hiding, or at least a warning that nasty surprises are present and information on how to contact you to discuss them.
Your characters will likely face a lot of defeat and failure before success, and sometimes before just failing especially hard, and the game is set up so that no matter how amazing your character is there is something somewhere in this game that can beat them.
Breaking these rules will result in first a reminder from the mods, and then a discussion with them. We may ask you to redo tags or posts, and we're willing to compromise, but in the end it is our call. We're hoping that we don't face situation like that, however.
And again: be considerate. As long as you stick by that, chances are everything will go peachy-keen for you and everyone else.
Also, one more rule. The Zeroth rule, if you will.
0. Have fun, and swash as many buckles as is humanly possible.
