New Year's Eve. The Grotto hosts a booze-filled NYE party that will include tuning in to the WWN for Gavin's announcement at 11pm and then the traditional countdown to midnight. When 11pm comes and goes, people all over the country are baffled when the increasingly agitated WWN announcers make more and more outlandish excuses for why the announcement hasn't occurred. Finally, with only fifteen minutes left until midnight, they must confess that Gavin Orpington has not arrived. [Character Name] discovers why when, while leaving the Grotto for stroll in Town Square to get a bit of air, they trip over the body of yet another Orpington. Their scream brings everyone running just as the clock begins to strike midnight. Gavin Orpington is dead and, once again, the DMLE must be called to Helga's Hill. |
