Week One: Thursday
When: Night
Where: His room
Who: Dimitri and Juliette

The night hours were always quiet around the home. The sisters often went out to see to their own affairs and Ophelia was, for now, out of sight and mind. It was a time that Dimitri often spent alone seeing to work still not fully caught up. There was not an overabundance to see to with the Towers but there was enough. Rarely was it just that however, for Dimitri. He was looking into other possibly business ventures. A man that cured a racing mind with work. Often burying himself in it.

He'd not bothered to find his way to the office for tonight. Instead he'd stayed to his room. The window was open to allow in the night chill and the scent of falling rain. It was peaceful enough even if Dimitri's thoughts did not exactly echo its sentiments. Why were his thoughts so turbulent? Likely due to much but for tonight he'd carelessly dismiss it as nothing more then not having fed today. An easier answer then truly having to think upon all of it.

Though quiet nothing truly ever was. In the distance he could hear the subtle beating hearts of servants in Chloe's room. Down below him there were residence walking through the halls. Outside someone was whistling as they walked. For a vampire, for suprenaturals, there was no real quiet. Dimitri long ago learned how to tune such noises out but tonight nothing wished to be ignored. No even the faintest of sounds were thunderous. Yet he didn’t move to close the window as though that would lock the sound away.

Instead he simply continued to read on, scanning various documents and information gathered. There was much of it, all scattered about his desk in various forms of disarray. It wasn’t Dimitri’s typical style but ever since returning, ever since Julien’s death, Dimitri wasn’t quite the same as he used to be. They had all moved forward, scars had healed, but was anything ever truly forgotten? No…their sire present now at their sides was proof of that fact.

He should leave the room he knew, venture out into the night. Find someone to feed from. There was a long list of things he likely should do other then stay at his desk. The night was early still wasn’t it? There was time yet….though truly for all he knew the sun could be set to rise in a slim few hours. Time was not something he’d been paying much mind to.

His attention was truly only diverted when he heard steps approaching. Faint sounds blending with all else around him. But they were steps he knew, recognized easily, steps that so often were sounded in time with his own.

Juliette.

Sighing softly Dimitri pushed away the papers, allowing his gaze to shift towards the door as she neared it. “Come in Juliette…” not that she would need to knock at all. No she knew she was always welcome at his side. That is how it had always been. No matter the struggles or troubles surrounding them.

The sardonic tone which greeted her, seemed to confirm any lingering question she had, about what exactly her brother was occupying his evening with. The door opened, and matching eyes meet across the distance between them, "Will I never surprise you?" She asked softly, stepping in, and shutting the door in her wake. Juliette, unlike her sisters, never strayed too far from home. Being among a crowd, had never been the place she felt at ease, so she kept her company to a minimum. Though, if her family requested her time, she would never deny them. They came before all others, has they always had.

Coming to stand behind him, her hands rested lightly upon his shoulders, as her eyes skimmed over the contents of his desk. "You do know, that I am here to assist you, yes? This isn't something you have to be burdened with entirely on your own." He had always taken everything upon himself, even when was not necessary. Yes, she admired this in her brother, but she felt he took too much upon himself. Even more so now, that life was finally starting to settle back into a rhythm.

"You haven't feed, why?" Moving to his side, she leaned her backside against the desk, so they might look at one another. "Dimitiri, you're no child, and I will not speak to you, as if you were one." So, instead of scolding him, she would try to be helpful. "Shall I fetch someone for you?" If he was insistent upon remaining in this evening, someone could easily be brought to him. The distraction would be good for him, his discontent was all too apparent. It had become a common theme among the family, when they day began to settle down, and they were allowed moments to think.

"Not easily anymore dear sister." Dimitri responded with a hint of a smirk upon his lips. Though truly even long ago when neither had supernatural senses on their side it was difficult for them to truly spook one another. The bond they shared was there long before supernatural ties strengthened it. Thoughts seemingly shared when it should not be so. Always knowing where the other was even when neither had told the other of their location. Dismissed as simply that twin bond...if other twins lacked the depth of it Dimitri pitied them. That feel, that connection, had always been important to him. And always he was put...ill at ease if he was away from his other half for too long.

Which made times now, like before, difficult....

Ophelia had a way of separating all of them even when they lived still under one roof. She was not even now to the building and yet that presence loomed over them all. One loathed by some of the family, longed for by the littlest of them....and when it came to Dimitri he still knew not where he stood. Anger still lingered, a betrayal was never forgotten easily by him. But the feelings of the past had not died as quickly with time as he had hoped they would.

As she stood behind him Dimitri leaned his head back, eyes closed faintly as he rested against her. "If this was all of the work for this place I'd have much bigger piles." retorted he in a dance of conversations that occurred often with his siblings. They thought he worked too much and he, in turn, did not think he worked enough. There was more for him in this city then just these apartments. Dimitri was the sort that could never truly keep still. Idle hands as they said... "There is still work sitting upon your desk, I didn't snatch it all away."

A sigh, subtle but there all the same "Then don't, it has not been that long. Other thoughts occupied my mind." with age he could go quite some time without feeding. The point always was, however, why did he need to? He didn't, not truly. But he did not...exactly wish to take his frustrations out on another. Though truly more then a few of his donors would like it. “Soon enough” was what he offered towards all of that. The night was still young; he had time still to feed.

“What activities hold your night so far Juliette?” a question to turn them away from himself of course. Though he was curious. He knew that Justine was very likely at Chroma as she often was and little Chloe was most likely at a club or buried away at her boutique with various workers fussing and fawning over her ideas. But Juliette, like him, was more often then not found indoors away from the large social scenes.

"It never was." A fond smile touched her lips. Even as children, before everything had come crashing down around them, they're similarities had refused them much distance apart. Not that they ever sought to be so, but locating one another had never been difficult. They truly did share some sort of internal sense for one another. Perhaps it was just for the simple matter, that they were so a like, and thought a like. Juliette doubted that greatly. It was something all together different, that connected them. It transcended simply being twins. Almost to the point, where conversations could be shared, with mere glances. That's all the understanding they needed.

If one topic had ever divided them, it had been their Sire. Justine, and she had always shared a great disdain for the woman, one which Dimitri now shared to a point. Though, his confliction towards the woman was obvious to her, it would always worry Julliette. She may come between them once more, and that was something she could bare to consider. Ophelia was not to be trusted, there had never been a time, when she was not sure of such.

"You're right." They never seemed completely caught up, which explained why so many nights were spent in offices, tending to stacks such as these. Her fingers soothed idly through his hair, "Yes brother, that may be. However, it is all too apparent that your stacks rise much higher than my own." Julliette did what she could to assist him, picking up the slack, when ever he would allow it. He was ever insistent, that the weight should rest with him. Stubborn, you might say. It had yet to consume him, but if it began to threaten such, she may need to be more forceful with her request, of him relaxing more.

Her fingers curled around the edge of the desk top, as her eyes trailed upon him. "Very well." So long as he didn't plain to fore go feeding completely. It wasn't the worry of how long, but indeed why. There was no need for it, yet she had to wonder, if he held off, for as long as he did, in a way to deny himself. "I thought I might a walk. To clear my thoughts, or allow them to build. Which ever happens to occur first." She never understood how people found walks to be relaxing. The simply gave her more time to consider things, causing her to be more heavy hearted, when returning home. It didn't help that she often felt the burden of others misfortunes as she passed. "I may follow your example, brother, and try at a bit more work."

“No, it never really was.” A fact that had only increased with time rather then helping it to fade. One would think with time, and distance, that such connections would begin to wane. Such wasn’t the case with the two of them though Dimitri could never complain about that fact. That connection had always been, he wasn’t sure what he would do should it go. Likely it was that which made the death of Julien so hard to take. Not that he had not loved his brother but it was a force of reality that none of them were truly eternal and they could loose one another. But losing ones other half…it wasn’t a thought he liked to have.

It should have driven them all together…and in a way it had considering they all lived here. But under the same roof did not mean truly together. Each was still…separate in their own way. Dealing with everything on their own terms, at their own pace.

Especially when it came to Ophelia. Yes he knew his sisters feelings when it came to her. She who had torn away their mortality. Dimitri held no anger now for that…not anymore. But the later acts did still sting when they rushed through his thoughts. His sisters had always loathed her but he had once loved her, and still did in a way. It would be best to tell her to go but all knew she’d not go till she wished. And t hat was not yet. No…she wanted to get under the skin first. And it was obvious with Dimitri that she was.

Dimitri shrugged slightly to her words “Perhaps, but you know that is how I am.” That hadn’t changed in centuries of life. Dimitri wasn’t the sort that enjoyed being lazy or sitting around with nothing to do. It was best for him to be thrown into a pile of work, letting him take time needed to work his way through it till more was dumped down. He knew they worried…but he was grown man enough to know when enough was enough. He did not go tell Chloe when she’d played enough, or tell Justine when she’d mothered them enough. Each had their…vices…of sorts. His harmed none truly and benefited many.

“Am I truly so distant?” he questioned finally with a sigh, no he didn’t believe it so but perhaps he was looking upon it all with narrowed vision. He didn’t believe he’d truly holed himself up that long working or that often but…perhaps it was more then before. He shook his head, placing a cigarette to his lips and lighting it with a flick of a silver lighter. “I think I have a ways yet before I’m drowning.” Piles still to form before that point was reached.

No he didn’t plan to forgo feeding all together, why would he? But he didn’t feel the need to indulge in it constantly like their dear Chloe did. He was no fool; he knew he had need to feed. It was simply a matter of…he could do so later. There was always that later point.

“Always seems to be that way isn’t it? All the methods humans use to clear their thoughts really only does the opposite…” walks, showers, drink, whatever the case it all tended to spur more thoughts then not. “Maybe…or maybe we could both attempt that walk. See if we can distract each other from our thoughts.”

The death of a sibling, would always be traumatic, especially when they had lived so long, in the mind frame, that death could not touch them. How truly wrong they had all been. To lose twin, with such a connection was shared, would feel like a form death. Would they be able to survive with out the other. Physically yes, but emotionally, she doubted that. That fear, had presented it's self, when he returned in such a bad state. He could have easily been dispatched, as Julien had. Perhaps that was why she hadn't let him stray far from her watch since.

Juliette was at least grateful, to their sire, that she had brought him home. That didn't completely erase all the past, and the deep dislike that rested within she, and Justine. They were what they were now, having hatred for that, seemed pointless now. Especially when they had enjoyed the benefits it allowed. The dislike was all together unrelated. Children, plucked away, saved yes... But they had been manipulated, until she was able to make of them, what she wished. Even now, she seemed to wish to hold some type of control over them.

"I do." She agreed. There would be no convincing him otherwise. Just as there would be no convincing her to leave him be. He protected, and took care of her, and she protected, and took care of him in return. That was how it had always been with them. Though, Dimitri was often the stronger of the two. In the past, she would fall apart, and he had always been there to hold her together.

Juliette considered his question. "At times... but, no more than the rest of us." They had yet to truly come together as a family, in a way, that one might expect. It seemed that fear kept them going. If they stopped, and allowed the time to mourn, and come together, would they be able to rise up once more? It was hard to say, when it seemed the chance would never be presented. "Yes, I dare say you're right. There is too much left to do, to stop." And, it would never stop coming. They couldn't take long to breath.

"Your company is always welcomed, brother." She smiled softly, laying her hand upon his shoulder for a moment. Any time they happened to spend together was valued, and welcomed in her mind. The invitation would never be turned away, nor ignored.

Dimitri knew all the sisters had kept eye on him once he’d returned wounded. He could not blame them truly, he would have done much the same were he in their place. Still, at the least, they had understood that he had not gone looking for what he had. The situation…went out of hand quickly and was bigger then he had believed it to be. Such was the nature of much when it came to ties to the supernatural world. Would he have died if Ophelia had not shown? He did not know and there was no way to know. He knew only that she had, that those he’d helped were alright…and that he was back here.

All of that he could live with. But he did not seek to make his sister, his twin, feel that sort of pain again. Nor have to fear the loss of him so…intensely.

Ophelia’s aid in this did not change the past however, but Dimitri could not live within those days either. They were too far gone now to hold all of his focus. But the wound, the sting, still persisted at times. A nagging feel that burned at the back of the mind whenever he looked upon their sire. Perhaps all the others would be happier if that was all he felt, hate. Dimitri settled for simply not speaking about her, or anything pertaining to it, since his return.

Everyone seemed to simply want to move forward, collectively they all had but there had been needed moments in time simply skipped over to be dealt with alone. That way of being sometimes was all too prominent for a family as close together as the Baptiste were.

“Then you know no amount of words will change how I work perhaps more then others.” Though she could urge him away from it better then any others could. All she had need to do was come in and say she wished to spend time with him. She, and the rest of the family, came before all work. They knew that, or at the least he told them it all often enough. Still they all felt the need to nag upon it a bit. The motherly nature of each of them despite the differences between them. Of course Chloe was far less likely to mention it then any others. But her attention was more often then not focused on play.

A vague somber nod was given to her words. Yes they were all distant as of late. He had not wanted to aid to that way of being but he’d not done well to sway it. Something for him to seek to remedy perhaps. A family dinner or something like it to put into the works.

“That is the nature of work isn’t it?” that there was always more to be done and it was always work. They’d handle it all however, as they always did. That was never really a worry for them.

“I’ll take that as acceptance to the idea.” Dimitri remarked, piling up some papers before him so that he could get to them later. With that finished he pushed himself up to his feet and pulled the jacket off of the back of the chair and put it on. Not that he truly got cold but it was better for blending in with the human world to appear like temperatures mattered in some form.

“Any particular place in mind or shall we just venture out and see where our feet lead us?” he questioned, an arm going around her shoulder as they walked.

The situation was so hard to believe. A mere human, had caused them so much grief? It didn't seem possible, but with Julien gone, and knowing the state he'd left Dimitri in, it wasn't something they could deny. Justine didn't wish to believe it, but there would be no denying it, if the crazed fiend came after their family once more. Why they had been targets to begin with, she didn't know. What would they do, if he appeared again. Seeking the Baptiste blood once more. Would they be able to fight him, or would their numbers again suffer? It wasn't a thought she wished to entertain, but it was ever present in her mind, refusing to be banished.

It would simplify things, if hate bound them all together. But, Juliette wasn't sure it would improve things. Dimitri would always hold a sort of fondness for Ophelia, just as they would all share a connection, because she was their sire. If he tried to force that away, it might do more harm, than good. He'd be fighting his own nature. That was a battle, that no one could win. It would only trouble the soul, and no good ever came of that.

"Perhaps I do. I'd say you're stubborn though." She offered him a gentle smile. She knew that she had some influence on him, just as he did her. Her sisters could never change her mind, as easily as Dimitri could. It was the same for him. If things became obsessive, she would use that to her advantage. But not now, not when his focus was was truly needed, and he obviously had a clear idea, of what he was looking at. "It is, dreadful, all of it. But necessary."

Juliette nodded, "It is, of course." There was no reason for her to oppose the idea. Stepping back, so that he could stand with out tripping over her. "I think our feet will lead us, to where we are meant to be." Her own hand circled his waist. "I've learned that chance is often a wicked place to set ones trust, but I think tonight, it would be a safe enough venture."

The man that did all of this was not a threat anymore. Dimitri had seen to that before he'd even allow Ophelia to drag him anywhere at all. But that did not mean that all tied to that man were gone. Or that more men like him would not come to show themselves. Most supernaturals did not worry, simply dismissing human kind as a threat. But any wise enough to see knew that it was not only age or senses that made you a threat...it was numbers and determination. Bendeck was able to do as he did because he was cunning, twisting the few weaknesses there were to his advantage. Why Julien had been targeted...no one really knew. Just as none knew if threats like these would truly stop.

All they could do was simply seek to be even more careful then they already were. Something he'd stressed to his sisters upon his return. The one he worried most for was Chloe who, at times, let her urge for play override her thoughts of protection or safety. It was one of the many reasons he sought to keep an eye on her. But that really was simply the nature of the family, always attempting to look out for one another.

Humans...sire...the outside world...all were threats, all were struggles...

"Well I won't truly deny that." Dimitri remarked in return with a faint hint of a smirk. Yes he was stubborn, sometimes too much so. But he knew when to cave and when he had to be willing to step back. He was stubborn but not illogical. Still it was Juliette who was best able to sway that stubborn side. "Not all of it is dreadful, a distraction if nothing else." but Dimitri actually did enjoy some work. Not all mind you, but some. If he didn’t enjoy it on some level he wouldn't do it. It was not as though money was a real concern for the family.

"We're not setting our trust in it...just our path." Dimitri responded, giving her shoulder a bit of a squeeze. An idle path that they could change should fate try to lure them in a direction best not had. Though there were few places in the city that the two would not wish to be at. So long as their path stayed clear of where Ophelia was staying he believed it would be fine.

Through the home he moved them, pausing by the closet before they left to grab an umbrella. It might not have been the best night for a walk but Dimitri didn't mind a bit of rain. But the umbrella gave them choice in the matter. Through the door and to the elevator, of course there were a few stops along the way of leaving the Towers. Residents that wanted to chatter or say hello. But eventually the pair were able to make it outside.

Juliette knew better, than to tempt fate. She feared finding herself at someone's mercy, once more. A place she refused to revisit. The fear, at times, often interrupted her life. She was not daring like her sisters, nor her brother. She believed, that if you did not seek trouble, or place yourself out there, then it would not find you. Perhaps she was missing out. Perhaps she ought to play more like Chloe. Yet, after all of these years, she still could not bring herself to do so. She found pleasure in the more simple joys of her life. The safe joys, you might say. Dimitri seemed to understand this, more than anyone, and of course he would. He'd been there.

"Distracting, yes. Tedious as well, I'd say." Work had to be done, that was it's nature. If one enjoyed working, that simply made things easier. She could not fault him for that. Even if she thought his enjoyment, and time spent with work, were far too great. They did differ in some ways, but for the most part, were a like. Being male, and female alone, provided vast differences in their character. Amazing how gender worked in such a way.

A path could mean so much though, though she wouldn't argue, and worry too much about it. With him by her side, there was never much room for worry. He'd protect her, she knew so. The residents of the tower, consisted of an interesting group of people. From the rather eccentric, to the average. All meshed together in the tower. She often thought of stories for the all. In their daily interactions, by chance, or not. It was a way to entertain herself. Even if only for a few brief moments.

The family had seen its fair share of threats and dark moments in their lives. All had different experiences but the twins were near...molded by such events. Though they were not exceptionally young when it had all come to pass they were young enough to still have it ingrained on the mind...and yet old enough to never be able to really forget it. Both had a sense of...caution that the others in their family at times lacked. A natural distrust almost that they did not so openly show.

Most that met Dimitri would say he was kind enough, friendly, that he spoke openly...and yes he did make it appear so. It was in his nature to be that sort of business man. But friendly did not mean open. Few really knew Dimitri and he did not, especially, have a desire to change that.

"Ah, yes, tedious." he shook his head slightly. "Means only that you need more variety in the tasks." or at the least he knew that he did. A reason why he had debates of investing in other business ventures of sorts. Not taking on anything too grand but more dabbling in other avenues to...keep himself from feeling stagnant.

"Perhaps we all do....or maybe less." there was the real question. More to keep them with a feel of something new, something fresh, or less so perhaps they all could find time for one another like it used to be. But was it any surprise that time had changed those ties? All had their own lives. Family was not all they had anymore like in the past.

With arm firm about her shoulders Dimitri led them from the towers. No there was no worry for where their steps took them, he would protect her and would know of a threat long before it truly reached them. All around them the city was alive. Busy shops, chattering groups, always it felt as though they moved slower then the humans. That the world buzzed and humans missed so much in their rush.

"I remember times where so few ventured out this late." he mused idly as they walked. "When our only choices for the night were taverns." all else shut down, fearful of the dark, rushing home from the shadows to be with family only to open shop again when the light held the sky.

“It makes me wonder how the world will be another hundred years from now.” And in ways apprehensive…not all had progressed for the better.

His talk of variety brought an idea, to the forefront of her mind. "I think, once I've become ahead of work at the Tower, that I might insist Justine. We've been far too distant, as of lately. I think it would give us a wonderful chance to spend time with one another." Surly she could use another hand, from time to time, and it would allow Juliette the chance to step out more. But not so much so, that she wasn't comfortably. Of course, she wished to know Dimitri's opinion of her idea. "It would be from time, to time, of course. My position at the Tower, would be kept."

She knew she didn't require his permission, but his opinion was very important to her. If he didn't think it was a suiting idea, she would be very inclined to reconsider. Though, she couldn't see that being an issue. "I'd say less, but this argument could go on, and on, in circles. Without truly being resolved." Smiling once more, she looked up to him, knowing that he would not consider it. It was all said out of caring, and would never risen to a point, where one would become truly annoyed at the other. It would take something far more serious. They tended to be very forgiving of one another.

"That was long ago. When people still believed that God was watching over them, and that evil was lurking in ever darkened corner. They don't fear us now, do they? They have no fear, because they do not believe." It was true, science had erased their possible existence from the minds of so many. Vampires only existed in movies, and books. What obvious signs rested, must be a type of theatric, no, it could never be real. "I think war may consume them, far before a hundred more years comes to pass. I think they have reached a point, where it may be time, to wipe the slate clean."

It was a morbid idea, but she only saw regression, not progress in the future. "I hope, that I am wrong."

A glance was cast her way when she spoke of her idea. It was surprising, really, that the family did not work together more. Through the years they had all worked various jobs and were more then capable of helping eachother out in any business venture. Though likely it had much to do with a need for some place to be separate, something that was all their own. “I think it would be a great idea. It will give you two chance to reconnect.” And gave Juliette a means out of the towers for awhile. Something likely all could agree was needed from time to time. Work far too often kept them indoors. Lingering too long to where you both worked and lived, could take its toll.

“I had little worry in that.” Dimitri chided when she assured that her place at the towers would remain; a kiss pressed to the top of her head afterwards. “How you wish to divide your time is, always, up to you. We are not the only ones seeing to the state of the towers.” There were others that did work as well and so if she decided to cut back her work there then it would be covered, and not just by Dimitri. Whatever best suited her, that was what was important.

“I think a family dinner is in store as well.” It had been too long really but all had to work to change that, one side pushing for it rarely did anything at all. Even when it was Dimitri doing so. But it would be good to touch base with his other sisters, see how their businesses were going and how they were doing. Perhaps next week or the next, he’d see to planning something.

“Most humans seem to walk about as though they fear nothing while others seem to fear everything…” and yet even those that seemed to fear their own shadows did not believe in the fairy tales of ghosts, vampires and monsters of the night. “Even when the truth is right before them they dismiss it. The tunnel vision some can keep…astounds me.” So many were so blind and yet could they really complain? It was by such blind nature that they were capable of living among the human unseen and unknown.

A true realization of the truth would likely not go over well. Dimitri had little love in hiding but he did not truly desire an all out war either…though he knew more then a few supernaturals thought otherwise.

“It may, if supernaturals do not intervene.” In the past such times had nearly come to pass, where it seemed as though the humans would break the world apart. The tide of that had been stilled but never really stopped. “Humans always seem so eager to tear themselves, their world, apart while claiming they are doing no such thing.” Cutting their own feet away as they stood. Dimitri shook his head slightly “I hope that you are as well but I have my doubts. Faith is not something to place in humanity.”

“Though perhaps we are simply jaded by our years hmm?” so many wars watched, so many bloody battlefields or political unrest that stemmed from near nothing but exploded like a bomb against the world. From the shadows they had watched humans year by year..Dimitri was never all together impressed.

Then again his faith in human nature was broken long before he ceased to be human at all.

Though not surprised, she was rather happy that he agreed that her was a good one. "Yes, that is my hope." Perhaps Chloe would like her assistance at some point. Juliette wasn't sure how well she would fit in with her youngest sisters fasted paced life, but it would be interesting to observe for a time, at the very least. The change might even be good for you, one could never know, until they were in the situation. Time together was always needed, and welcomed as well.

"Oh, yes. It has been far too long, since we all sat down together." With everyone coming, and going, it made that sort of arrangement difficult. They would need to plan ahead, and make sure that it would be at a time, which suited them all. It may take some time, to decided on such a night, but the effort was needed. "I think it would be very nice, it might be just what we need, to come together again." Not just for that night of course, but as a family. The Baptiste were stronger together.

Her eyes rested upon him, as he spoke, venturing away for mere moments, to make sure of their trek. Juliette would quite agree, it was odd, what they feared, and refused to believe theses days. The old world beliefs were thought to be those of ignorant fools. Who were the truly ignorant though? Who were the blind? "They will live that way, so long as science decides their truths. It also makes life easier for our kind, those who merely wish to live. But also for those who seek victims."

"Intervene... that would surly be a war." There must be some supernaturals, just aching to take control of the world, which they viewed as their own. Then there were the others, who were content with cohabitation. "It's the greedy nature of man. Either money, land, or religion drives them to kill. Land which they are destroying... they know nothing of peace." Perhaps they were jaded, to an extent. But watching such a decline would do that. "I place faith in my family. That's all I see fit to trust."

Likely Chloe would be thrilled to have one of her sisters about the shop from time to time. Chloe never minded their presence and always was eager to get attention or praise. The youngest of the family, she hadn’t lost that love of the limelight and doubtful she really would. But Dimitri knew that the business she’d created for herself he had no ties in Oddly enough fashion was simply not a big concern of Dimitri’s. He dressed well of course, but had no desire to keep up with the most recent, odd, fashion trends.

For Juliette, however, he believed both locations would be good for her. For varying reasons.

“I believe so as well. Doubtful any realize truly just how long it has been until we are seated together once more.” How quickly time could fly by without one even realizing it. A year could seem like nothing where to a human it could seem like eternity. But for those as old as them a year was like a blink..already it had been such since so much darkness had come to pass. But it was still alive and well in all their hearts. “I will see to arrangements, make sure it works with all of us.” Not much of a full family gathering if one could not attend.

“Once faith was all that ruled and now it has swung the entire opposite way. Makes me wonder if there will ever be a time where they learn to be able to both.” To mingle the worth of both sides instead of taking things, always, to that extreme that tore families apart and caused such chaos in the world around them. “Always all or nothing it seems, the world never so heavily viewed in that needed gray.” Everything was a mix, that Dimitri was all too aware of now. His years had proven it time and time again. No full good, no full bad, cities, people, ideas…they all often laid in the middle.

“Easier yes, in a way. Though if their minds were more open, if they were not so…dramatic…perhaps there would be little need for hiding at all.” If those fairy tales and myths could be seen with open eyes and the understanding reached that they were not monsters but simply another kind of man and woman. “I do not hold my breath on that ever coming to pass however.” Not that he had need for breath but it was more meaning behind it then actual statement of fact.

“Very likely so.” Dimitri bemused with a faint nod of his head. “Much ends with such, too much so.” A disagreement, bad marriages, back stabbing or betrayal…all lead to war in some form. “Many things drive men and women to kill…not often is it reason enough. Let alone reason to wage war upon all for it.” Power could be found without destroying all to get there. Not many seemed willing to grasp that.

Her words brought a touch of a smile upon Dimitri’s lips. The arm about her shoulder shifted enough so that he could rub her arm slightly “Oui, family is all that has earned my trust.” No others truly, without doubt, had his trust. Doing so often did not bode well.

Dimitri let his eyes drift forward, shops breezed by them, the later it became the slower the world began to turn. Most in clubs by now or soon stumbling out of them to return home. There were a slim few hours of the night that were quieter then the rest, nearly peaceful in a way, they’d finally slipped into such.

Juliette could not fault her sister, for relishing in the attention she'd been receiving since birth. It had not been by the hands of their parents, it was from themselves. They all adored one another, but each had taken to looking upon Chloe in a parental role, since everything had shifted in their lives. Even after centuries, that had not changed. She would always be their beloved, baby sister. Each would still lavish affection upon her, that would never change.

"Good, it will be well worth it." She was truly excited at the prospect. There would be so much catching up to do. It would be a pleasant evening, she had no doubt in her mind.

"I doubt they will, and when the world finally crumbles beneath them, they will be asking God why. When the blame rest entirely with them." The thought was a sad one, but she knew it was true. They would blame God, or each other. Never could they take responsibility for their own actions. A person was not evil, but people as a whole were. That was how she saw things to be.

Drama was all to present, it didn't seem that would ever fade away. "You're probably right, hoping for that, truly, would be foolish." Maybe if the humans didn't completely destroy what they had, there would come a day, when a type of acceptance could be in place. Though, if Humans came to know, that they were not at the highest position on the food chain, their heads might explode from disbelief. That, or they might simply try to deny it. Juliette saw a war, not peace.

With a simple nod, they understood one another. Family was family. Nothing would change that. Death hadn't, so, she saw no place for such a change. The walk, it seemed, had been a fair idea after all. It had pulled them both from work for a time, it had brought about plans for the family to reconnect. Yes, a good night indeed.
