Once you loved it was never so easy to turn away from that feeling. No matter how the heart was broken, no matter the ache that settled in. All too easily you could remember that feeling and it drew you in. It had a way of crawling beneath the flesh, tugging upon you in ways that you told yourself you'd not be moved again. Such words of done or over were easy to speak in theory. But to stick to them...that wasn't. Ophelia was proof of just how difficult turning away from that past could be. But in the push between family or sire...Dimitri had made his choice. More then once.
He had the feeling that it would be a choice he was forced to make again all too soon.
Though it was a heavy topic weighing on his mind it wasn't what he wanted the night to be all about. After all he already knew Justine's feelings upon her. So what was there truly to say? Words had been spoken more times then he could count...nothing different really could be said. He understood that. He respected that. But it didn’t make anything easier.
The passage he read was all too familiar. It was a passage he'd actually read to Ophelia. More then once his eyes scanned the words until his sisters presence broke him away from his thoughts. A welcomed distraction. A welcomed arrival always. "Likely so, until I wear the pages thin with these constant readings." he bemused with a faint of a smile to his lips. It would not be the first book he'd had to replace...and oddly enough he found that comforting in a way. That he was able to find still these classics. That he had the means to.
"That was what I was hoping to hear, I'm do for a much needed break from the Towers." too much time spent where you worked became even more tedious and draining. The same walls, the same people...it grew tiresome. "Lets..." Dimitri rose to his feet, shaking his head just slightly "The timing is perfect." or close enough to when the reservations were for. Not that he truly needed them; they would make room for them even if there wasn’t any in the restaurant.
Moving to the door he held it open for Justine, following after her as they made their way towards the front door. Dimitri paused only to grab his jacket and needed items. Keys, phone, wallet. Through the towers they moved, being stopped once or twice by residents wishing to stay hello. Down in the garage Dimitri lead the way to his car, he’d be driving tonight even though the family did have many drivers. The passenger side door was held open for her before he got in himself, such old world manners would never be lost with Dimitri.
