Week Twelve: Monday
Who: Drystan and Rei
Where: Le Chabanais
When: Monday Night

Oh he'd left a mess. Silly him, how could he do such a horrible thing for the well appointed staff to have to deal with. Drystan was just so ashamed of his actions. Of course he was... nevermind that this was done what one might call almost weekly. Granted the 'mess' was different each and every time because what was life without a little variety. But just the same, he did enjoy making his presence known in his business partners little venture.

And of course now he had to be even more conscious of the place with poor Isobel leaving a... well Drystan would reserve what he really thought of the thing in charge now for when he talked to him in person. He didn't like to waste his best material. But someone now needed to hang around and make sure things were run according to the level that Le Chabanais required and how could someone like Rei manage that.

Drystan was certain it was impossible because you could take the boy off the streets but you certainly can't take the street out of the boy. Or something to that extent. He knew very well who Rei was, Drystan hadn't lived for four hundred odd years without an ability to keep track of his business endeavors, not to mention that it did pay to have a large payroll that could verify whatever the fuck Drystan wished. Some days he liked to make them find stupid facts just for his own amusement. One had to find things to pass the time.

Like tonight. He'd left a very pleased little half fae in the currently messy room. She was mostly unconscious but she had begged him to keep going, he couldn't be blamed for perhaps over indulging slightly in her sweet blood. Nor could he be really held responsible for the fact that some of that blood had made it all over the furniture. She was the one who kept moving and kept insisting that she wouldn't break. Unfortunately she did. And was rather loud about it in the process. Her leg would be better in a few days... hopefully. No one wanted to fuck a gimp so she'd better hope that it healed, not that she was complaining at the moment.

Drystan was almost sorry that he wouldn't be telling Isobel about the current state of one of her women. She always got so... riled up when he did. That irritated little twitch of her eye. Oh Drystan would miss that so. Time to see what her little boy-servant would have to say about it. Not that Drystan truly cared, but he should talk with the boy regardless... for Liri's sake and all. Always thinking of those less fortunate than him.

Now where was the boy?

Rank scent... now Drystan would be quite horrified to know that his scent was ever classified as rank not with the amount of money that he so carelessly spent on cologne alone. Though if anything such a description of him could only be accounted due to the smeller's complete lack of taste. He was part animal after all.

It was almost sweet, that he came rushing to protect someone who had so willing given every bit of her blood. In fact she'd cried out for more and Drystan had been more than willing to oblige. Of course in the end she may have gotten a little more than she'd bargained for but that was the price of playing the proverbial fire. You did tend to get burned every now again. Burned, broken limbs... something along those lines.

What wasn't sweet however was what this little were thought was an appropriate response. Clearly Isobel had skimped on the manners with this one. But then again had Drystan known she was in the market for a little toy, guard, whatever she wanted to call it... Drystan certainly wouldn't have suggested one of the blood that Rei came from. Unreliable and apparently insane as well.

Air that Drystan didn't need came out with a whoosh as Rei's fist connected with his stomach. Lazy had been the correct word to describe Drystan, smug as well. And that reason alone kept him off guard for that split second. It didn't last long however, for all his slothfulness... Drystan could be just as quick and cruel to boot. His shoulders had curled only slightly from the impact and as he rapidly straightened there was a look in his cold blue eyes that not many saw... well not many saw and lived to tell about.

"I wasn't aware Isobel enjoyed her men so stupid." Drystan said simply, his voice loaded with the coiled anger that he didn't unleash quite yet. Perhaps he was seeing just how stupid this little were was. "Though I do know that brains don't exactly run in the family..." That was practically purred as he leaned back against the wall, no longer lazy but like a snake poised to strike.

They were both animals. Base animals that served to fulfill their needs. However they had drastically different needs, they were two drastically different animals. At least Rei did not smell like death and whatever liquid that the vampire used that came out of a bottle. For a hunter he was certainly sloppy with his scent, at least in Rei's mind.

Rei looked at him coolly as the vampire oozed anger. It was fulfilling, really. The idea that he invoked anger out of this corpse. Strange to think about, but Rei was not really in a mind to think at the moment. Drystan could say what he liked about Rei, but the truth remained that he was trained to kill. And his training had been one of the best, despite the price on his sanity.

"It's bad for business." he gave coolly as a reason. "You try killing off my girls, maybe to make up for something. But I really wouldn't recommend it." If it was his choice, Rei would put the effort to keep Drystan out entirely. Vampires were powerful, but with every bit of power there was always a draw back, something they lost. Maybe it would be better if he just started carrying around a spray bottle full of holy water. The idea of it was almost enough to bring a smile to his face. Almost.

Walking past Drystan, he went over to the girl and gathered her up into his arms. She was so tiny, so small. And pale, she was going to need help and quick. If she was not already going to die. If she did, maybe he would just have to kill one of Drystan's employees. Fair was fair, wasn't it? If the vampire could not control himself, how could he be expected as a lowly were?

Hunting... really now. Drystan wasn't doing anything approaching a hunt here at the lovely brothel. Here things were just for his taking. When he was feeling his most slothful this was exactly where he went. And the exquisite cologne he was wearing only helped draw the flock in. Worry over knowledge of who had left the young fae in her current condition.... he simply didn't hold any.

Next time he should sign his name in her blood. Now there was an idea.

Impudence always earned Drystan's ire. Especially from individuals that could be bought and sold. "She's not dead and I can assure you she quite enjoyed it. The business is just fine." His girls... now that was humorous, enough so to allow a smirk to cross Drystan's features. He had sent more individuals into this particular line of work... might have been one of the few reasons that Isobel put up with him... his rather innate ability to pull in talent. Or force it. Whatever the case may be.

In fact Drystan knew a ballet dancer that would make an excellent addition... now that bore some thought. Flexibility and resilience was always a plus.

Oh the role of the hero... so very overrated. Drystan didn't move from where he stood, arms folded over his chest as he watched the little were make his way into the room to gather up the poor injured girl. Hands moved slowly away from his chest and came together in a nice sardonic slow clap. "Feel better. Glad you could save this one? She'll heal. She asked for more but I did practice some restraint." Drystan began as his shoulders pushed away from the wall to fall into step behind the other man.

"Can't say the same for everyone though. I was rather proud of your sister for not breaking as easy as the rest of them did." He finally said, close behind Rei. Now that was a card to play just for reaction alone. Determine just what the other man knew.
