Week Twelve: Thursday
Who: Mikal & Alex.
Where: Sidewalk down the block from the Towers.
When: Late Night
What: Chance meeting.

Tonight had been a good night for Mikal. Work had been surprisingly rewarding, and she was damn near confident that she'd be able to pay the bills and afford a bit of the white stuff. It was always nice to know that not every fella in this town was cheap. But of course, in Mikal's line of work, that same thought also lead to the realization that more and more men were willing to pay out of pocket just to catch a glance at some naked girl they didn't know wriggling around to some trashy music. It seemed that every bit of positivity had some kind of tragic downside to it these days.

Like the man that had been following her for the last block or so, for example. It wasn't exactly uncommon to have some drunken sleeze lurk around outside to try his luck with the girls. Of course, most of them became disenchanted the moment they realized that, no, you didn't walk around with your clothes off all the time. But then there were those that pushed the creep factor to a new level. They were rare, but she supposed it was just one of those occupational hazards. You know, came with the territory and all.

She was doing her best to ignore it, subtley quickening her pace while she rummaged into the bag hanging by her hip for her cigarrettes. Her jacket, a simple back zip-up hoodie was slung over her left forearm, and when she finally managed to withdraw the pack of Malboro Reds she had to readjust it, slinging it over her shoulder instead so that her arm could be employed to better pack the cancer sticks instead. The smack of the cardboard box against her wrist seemed to echo; it was really rather late, and at the moment the road looked pretty much deserted. Late hours in a big city was also a hazard. She'd be sure to add it to the growing list.

Finally the Old Town Towers building came into view. Sighing in some relief, she did a slow jog the rest of the way to the stairs, pausing only briefly to pull a cig from the pack with her teeth. However, that seemed to be more than enough time for Creepy McCreepster to close the distance between them; she felt a hand on her arm just as the sole of her neon blue flat touched down on the first step leading up to the front doors. So close, and yet...

Whirling around to face her persuer, she knotted her brows and narrowed her eyes at him, jerking her arm roughly from his grasp. "Back off, asshole." An unintelligible slur was his response right before he lunged at her again, sending her off-balance so that the two stumbled away from the stairs. Adrenaline coursed through her as she found her back suddenly pressed into the wall, her heartrate accelerating with fear and anger; this guy was seriously going to do this right here!?

She groaned in disgust as the smell of his breath, a vile combination of alcohol and god-knows-what, invaded her senses but was immediately distracted when she felt one of his hands fumble clumsily for her. "What the hell do you think you're doing? Hey!" A scuffle ensued then, ending when a sound slap was delivered across her attackers face. This only served to anger him, apparently, because she felt his hand collide with her jaw a moment later, the cigarrette falling from between her lips, the taste of blood in its wake. This was not looking good.

Alex had gone to work but had gotten pissed off and walked out before his shift was even halfway over. Fuck that place. And fuck those assholes that ran it. He'd find another job, no problem. And if not, well then fuck this city. He'd just go back to Tahoe. It wasn't like he really had anything keeping him here. Granted, he had friends, but it wasn't like he thought that they wouldn't understand. It was just a bad week for him, a really bad week, especially now that Serena was gone. He was going to miss her. He did miss her, no matter how pissed off he was.

As always, he had parked his Mia in the parking garage, out of harm's way, and was presently walking around to the front of the building. Had it not been for the yelling, he might not have even noticed what was about to happen. Or if he had, he may have thought it was consensual. But she did yell, and he did hear it, and he did recognize exactly what was about to take place. Yeah, no fucking way he was just going to let that happen, even if his awareness of what races lurked in this city made him wary of what he was going to be going up against.

Coming up from behind, the guy was distracted enough that it was pretty easy for Alex to grab him, turn him around, and punch him in the face. Blood, a crunch. He was human. Good for Alex, bad for him. "Didn't your mama ever teach you that that's no way to treat a woman, asshole?" He asked, and then again his fist connected with the guy's face. The guy lunged for him, but he was too drunk and Alex was too quick for him. He was met with a knee to the gut. Alex's hands entangled in the creep's hair, and he slammed his face down against his bent knee.

Blood gushing from his face, that was it, he was done, and the creep took off running, as best as he could in the state that he was in right now. Alex thought about going after him, taking out some more of that aggression of his on the mother fucker's face, but it seemed more important that he make sure the girl was okay and that she made it where ever it was that she was going with no further delay. "You alright?" He asked, a scowl finding his lips at the blood and bruising upon her face. "Looks like he cracked you pretty good. Might wanna get somethin' on that."

She couldn't say she wasn't shocked (and not just a little relieved) when her attacker was suddenly ripped away from her, a shout of surprise coming from her as her hero began to unceremoniously pummel the shit out of the guy's head. Clutching her bag to her chest, she just sort of stood there and watched, not really sure how she could contribute without getting in the way, wincing everytime the man's fist made contact with the drunken slob's face. It seemed that the knee to the face was the winning blow though. Turning her head, she leaned forward off the wall to watch the drunk's stumbling exit, almost forgetting that she was in new company until he spoke.

Almond-shaped eyes turned to regard this knight in shining armor, bobbing her head in a slow bob as she reached down to readjust her shirt, a striped tanktop that had managed to ride up a bit during her little grappling match moments before. "Yea," was her breathless reply, looking a little shaken as she tenderly probed her swollen lip with her index finger, drawing a harsh breath through her teeth as the action resulted in stinging pain. "Occupational hazard number four," she muttered wryly, more to herself than to the young man that had saved her. "What an asshole. Uh, not you. Him." Just incase he was confused. "And yea, I'm sure I've got steak or something upstairs. That's what you're supposed to do, right?" Though why anyone would want to put frozen meat on their face was beyond her. Ice worked just fine, in her opinion.

Upon closer inspection of him, Mikal realized that she recognized this person. It wasn't a strong familiarity at all, but she could vaguely recall seeing his face in passing. This was, as far as she knew, the only time she had ever actually talked to him though, beyond the occasional polite 'thankyou' whenever he happened to hold the elevator for her. "Good thing you were around huh? I really owe you one." She pushed some short shards of dark hair from her brow and grinned at him, the gesture somewhat strained due to the fact that her bottom lip was beginning to swell a bit. "Those were some seriously badass moves, by the way."

The last thing he had been expecting when he quit his job tonight was to end up in the role of Knight in shining armor, but it suited him at least. He was just relieved that the guy was human. It would have been pretty fucking ugly otherwise. He couldn't help but to feel a bit relieved his own self when the guy finally just took off. He only hoped he didn't have friends that might not be so human and so easy for him to take down.

"What was that?" He had heard her mutter, but didn't quite understand it, probably because she wasn't talking to him. He laughed a little. "I should hope not." And then he moved a hand up to run fingers back through his hair, pausing before it ever got there, noticing the blood on his knuckles. Fucking gross. "Yeah. Yeah, some steak should help." Always worked for him. Granted, it was not the most appealing thing ever, but it pulled the heat out better than ice did. Kept it from bruising too badly too.

"Guess I picked the right night to quit my job." He laughed, and then grinned a little as she complimented his moves. "Thanks." She looked familiar too now that he could pay attention to who she was. "You live in the Towers, right?" He knew she did. "I'm just heading that way if you want me to walk you up." He shrugged his shoulders and pulled out his pack of cigarettes, wiping the blood on his jeans first. "Want one?"

"Nothing," she answered, snorting slightly and shaking her head. "It's just sort of this joke I have. With... myself." She scrunched her face, puckering her lips to one side and fiddling absently with the silver hoop pierced through the cartilage of her right ear. "Which isn't as crazy as it sounds, I promise." It wasn't anything against him, but most of the time Mikal tried to steer the conversation away from her profession. Not that she was ashamed of it, or anything... rather, she found that people tended to react differently to her once they found out what she did. But alas, that was the world they lived in, right?

She observed him as he noticed the blood smeared across his knuckles, hiding an amused smile by lifting her brows high on her forehead and sighing in overexaggerated relief when he pulled out his own pack of cigarettes. "Oh my god, yes. That bastard made me lose my last one." It was still lying on the pavement a short distance away where it had landed after it had been punched out of her mouth. She stepped forward to accept it, holding it between her fore and middle fingers while her other hand frisked her pockets for her favorite lighter. "You really are my hero tonight!"

His question about Old Town Towers illicted an affirmative nod. "Yep. I've seen you around there a few times, right?" Pulling her zippo from her back pocket, she shoved the unlit cigarette between her lips and leaned in to light him up first, carefully cupping her hand around the flame while she talked around the filter. "I'm Mikal, anyway. And uh, you might want to put peroxide on that," she said, gesturing to the blood he'd just smeared on his jeans. "Gets it right out." Don't ask how she knew these things. She was just an abdundant source of useless, unmarketable information.

Alex just smirked at the confession, and then he held up a hand defensively. "Hey, I didn't say it was crazy." He wouldn't have judged her for her job. Everyone did things that might not be the best thing in the world in order to survive. He wasn't exactly proud of some of the things he had doone for money in his life, so he sure wasn't going to judge someone else or treat them differently for doing what they had to do. This world wasn't always an easy one to get by in.

He had never seen someone get so excited about a cigarette being offered. It made him smile. And he just thought about something, just then, that wasn't exactly crappy about Serena being away. He could smoke in his apartment whenever he wanted to now. It wasn't exactly worth giving up his sister for, but maybe it would help him to look on the bright side of the situation instead of being angry and hurt about it, or only angry and hurt about it.

"Yeah. I think so." He smiled. "Been there a couple of months." He wasn't sure how much longer he would be there but the lease was for a year. As much as he didn't want to be here at the moment, he didn't want to screw his sister's stuff up by not keeping the place for that long. He was a sucker and he cared too much. "Alex." He said, and then he glanced down at the blood. "I'll give that a shot." Now that he had to learn how to do laundry.

"So uh.. did you wanna go in?" It was a decent night out, but still, it was night, and he didn't want the guy to decide to come back around with some friends and find them still standing here.

She nodded, grinning back at him as she tilted her head and lit her own cigarette, taking a long pull and squinting as she expelled some smoke from her nostrils. "Oh, yea, absolutely," she said in response to his question, shoving her zippo back into her pocket as she turned and started back up the stairs with him in tow. She honestly wasn't even thinking about the possibility of that guy coming back... but that was really just typical Mikal, living in the moment without heed for what the future might bring. That was probably why she found herself in trouble a lot of the time.

"So you said you quit your job tonight, huh? That sucks. Not for me, obviously, I mean thank god you were around, right?" She laughed lightly and pulled the strap of her bag higher up on her shoulder. THat was like one of those crazy things you saw in movies, a series of events tied together for a reason, or some such garbage. She gave him a playful look, widening her eyes in a faux expression of surprise. "Maybe it was like, fate or something. You know, destiny." And then she smirked and rolled her eyes, showing him just what she really thought about that.

"Why'd you quit, if you don't mind my asking?"

Alex got the feeling that she might be exactly that type of girl. Most sane people, or people that really gave much thought about the future, would have already been up the stairs in their safe place. Then again, most girls he knew probably would have scrammed the minute that the assailant was being dealt with. Not to say that she wasn't sane, but she seemed a little... nonchalant about the whole thing. That was the best way of putting it. He just grinned a little as he started to walk with her, not having issue with escorting her at all. She was pretty to look at. And if what had almost happened hadn't just almost happened, he probably would have come onto her already.

Alex nodded his head at the question, exhaling a stream of smoke. "I did." It was a good thing that he had, that tonight had been the night of all nights that he had decided that he had had enough and took off. Maybe it really was fate. Of course she was scoffing at the idea as soon as she mentioned it. "Hey now! Don't laugh at fate." He warned her jokingly, a brow arched slightly with a cute smirk tugging at his lips. "You disrespect her, she might come bite ya in the ass."

"Eh... havin' a bad week." He shrugged his shoulders softly. "I moved here for my sister, to look out for her, and then I found out that she was with this guy and..." He couldn't tell her the whole story obviously. "Well she says she got a job offer and that's why she left but I dunno."

Her supposed nonchalance was only because she was so used to shitty things happening in her life. And besides, Mikal was most certainly not like most other people. A tilted glance was offered as he teasingly scolded her, her own smile curling the corners of her lips as she flicked her hand out to ash her cigarette with her thumb. Like him, she couldn't help but notice that her new cohort was really rather nice looking, even more so when he smiled. She had a thing for dimples. "You know, I think she kicks my ass enough already as it is," she laughed, pulling open the door and gesturing for him to enter with a dramatic bow and elaborate flourish of her hand. "After you."

Following him inside, she listened sympathetically as he explained his situation with his sister. She didn't have any siblings, but she knew what it was like to have someone you'd do anything for bolt all of a sudden. "Yikes. That is a bad week." She went to bite her lip and was immediately rewarded with a burning sensation as one canine tooth grazed her cut. Swearing lightly, she rolled her tongue over the sore spot and went on with her speech, turning her head to look at him.

"But ya know, your sister is lucky she had you to look out for her. Nice girls always fall for guys that are no good for them. It's a proven fact. But not all of them have people who'll kick that guys' ass if things get nasty. I definitely would not want to be on the receiving end of one of your beat-downs."

"Because you be talking all that shit about her." He said, giving her a knowing look as he smiled. She was really cute. Probably one of the cutest girls he had seen in a long time. It was kind of a shame that they had met under the circumstances that they had. It probably wouldn't be the best time to try to get her number. "Ladies first." He said with a shake of his head, taking over her post on the door so that she could enter. Forever a gentleman, at least until he got behind closed doors.

The fact that she didn't look at him like he was stupid like everyone else pretty much did when he talked about Serena earned her more than a few brownie points. The rest of what she had to say about it made him laugh and cock his head slightly to one side as he came to a stop at the elevator and pushed the button to call it down. "I did get into it with him once." He said, and made a slight face. "Serena broke it up. Might not have been pretty otherwise." Of course he neglected to tell her that it was him it might not have been pretty for.

"What floor?" He asked once the doors opened and he moved inside, putting an arm out to ensure the doors didn't try to close before she made it onto the elevator.

"Well maybe if she wasn't so bitchy all the time..." She made an impressed little noise in the back of his throat as he extually exhibited some manners, a trait she obviously hadn't been seeing too much of from the opposite sex. Or the same sex, for that matter. People in general just seemed to be getting nastier and nastier. "What a gentleman," she said, and though she was teasing him she clearly meant it, because she said a very genuine 'thankyou' as she ducked under his arm and walked in ahead of him. She paused, waiting until he fell into step beside her again before continuing towards the elevators.

"Really?" She didn't know why she was acting surprised. Alex was obviously one of those guys who just couldn't stand by and let a girl get into trouble. It was infinitely endearing, and as she sucked the last bit of life from her cigarette, she wondered briefly what kind of reaction she would get if she asked him out one night. She wasn't really one for tradition. "Well, she probably just didn't want her boyfriend to get all bloody. They're less cute that way."

She stepped into the elevator, dropping her depleted filter onto the floor and stomping it out without so much as a pause. She'd gotten in trouble for it millions of times, but she thought it was way too funny to stop. "Third." As the doors slid closed, she leaned back against the far wall and folded her arms over her chest, glancing at him thoughtfully. "So what about you? What's your deal? Do you have a girlfriend, Lancelot?" Blunt and to the point as ever.

"I don't know you so don't take offense but.. maybe she's just returning the favor." He suggested with a sly grin and then a laugh as he put his hands out like he was pleading with her not to slap him for that one. He had been raised with good manners. His mama had always been big on her boy knowing how to treat a lady. Admittedly though, he didn't always practice what she preached. When it came to opening doors, that was no big thing and it was always the big things that tripped him up.

"He wasn't that damn cute to begin with." He had a bit of a foul look upon his face as he said it. "It was complicated though. I mean, I'm not normally violent but.. I kinda got the wrong impression about something that had happened." That was the best way to describe it. And as for her asking him out, she would have to ask to find out. Of course, he wasn't at all offended by women that knew what they wanted and went after it, especially if what they wanted was him and the feeling was mutual.

Alex had already put his cigarette out with a little bit of saliva and pocketed the end. He wasn't trying to get himself into trouble like that even if he honestly shouldn't care. If he got kicked out, he didn't have to worry about the lease. Then he might just have to think about a place to live. He hit the button for the third floor and then he smirked a little as she brought that question immediately to the table. "Nope." He said, and glanced up at her. "Haven't been here all that long." A handsome guy like himself might need to explain that one. Of course he hadn't really spent his entire time here alone. There was Prissy, but she wasn't exactly girlfriend material and there was no reason for him to tell Mikal about that.

She gaped at him, her expression one of extreme amusement and overexaggerated offense. "I don't think I like what you're implying, Alex," she told him with a bit of a pout, though she couldn't help but laugh about it. She was pleasantly surprised that he had been so quick to come back at her like that, even though they'd only officially met a few minutes before. Showed character. Or a lot of nerve. Both were good in her book, though.

His comment about his non-violent nature warrented a high lift of her eyebrows, lips pressed together into a thin line. "So you went all hong-kong fooey on his ass because of a wrong impression?" She softened her expression into a grin to show that she was joking, then shrugged and scratched at the back of her neck a bit. "I dunno. I mean, you can only help people who want to be helped, right? I'm sure she knows you were just trying to look after her. And hey, look on the bright side. You get a sweet place all to yourself for a while." She gave him a big smile to emphasize that point, one that only widened in some surprise as he admitted to not being taken.

"Seriously?" She chucked at his comment about him not being there very long, and, giving him a tilted look, asked, "What's that got to do with it?" She glanced over at the elevator as it came to her floor, and, noticing that he hadn't pressed any other button, glanced incredulously at him. "Your floor too?" She stepped through the doors and out into the carpeted hallway, twisting and walking backwards so that she could face him while she talked. "So what would you say if I said that I maybe, possibly was interested in seeing you again? Preferably under better circumstances, but hey, I'm not picky." A cheeky smile, and then she added, "I could always come up with newer, more exciting ways for you to rescue me if you wanted."

If he had nothing else, it was some balls and some character. He wasn't afraid of getting slapped which generally worked in his favor when it came to creating playful banter with those that were privy to it. With those that weren't, well, he usually learned pretty quickly to leave that for the people that were. Clearly she had a good sense of humor about it. He shrugged his shoulders slightly as she pretended to take offense. "I'm just sayin', you know, she seems like the type." Fate that is. He was glad not to have put her off with that.

"Hey.. It was a very wrong impression." He said, is turn now to mock offense and then laugh about it. He shrugged his shoulders a little, kind of hoping to steer the conversation away from his sister. That was why he didn't say much. But the last part did bring up a valid point that he had just had come to mind. "And I can smoke in there now. Definitely a plus." With the Seattle weather, walking outside wasn't always a very good alternative.

"I guess it has to do with it because I haven't met a lot of girls here." That made sense, at least it did to him. But now that she pointed it out, it sounded kind of stupid. "Nah. Figured I'd see you to your door though, make sure you got there okay." He gave a small shrug of his shoulders. If she didn't want him to do that, he could go, but she didn't seem to have an issue with it. And it became even more clear that she didn't mind his company when she asked about seeing him again, a laugh issuing forth at her rather cheeky comment. "As interesting as that sounds, I think I'll just have to say.." He paused, furrowing his brow in mock deep thought. "Let me see your cellphone." That might not have been the answer she was expecting.

"See, I have never been good at the whole.. you gotta wait this number of days to give a girl a call or you look desperate. And if you go past this number of day then you seem uninterested. So I'm going to be a gentleman and program my number in this bad boy so that you can be the one who sets the time frame."

"My cellphone?" She echoed those two words incredulously, one brow quirked in a way that said she was clearly questioning his sanity. But she reached into her bag nonetheless, digging through it for a minute or two before she pulled it from the wreckage; her bag was only a small symbol of how disorganized her life really was. She handed it to him without hesitation, watching as he flipped it open and began to program his own number into it, a smile slowly beginning to curl across her lips. "So I get to make the first move, huh? This is very new-age of you."

She accepted the flip-phone back after he was done with it, staring down at the 'New Contact Added' sign for a second before she glanced back up at him. Her thumbs began to move over the keypad of her cell, a mischievous gleam now entering the depths of her brown eyes as they flickered between the screen and his face. "Well, since you've put me in charge..."

She hit the 'send' button, and seconds later his phone suddenly sounded the alert for a new incoming text, its sender an unfamiliar number across the caller I.D. The message was four simple words, emphasized by three question marks:

HOW ABOUT NXT FRI???

Mikal clearly wasn't one for those silly dating rules, either. Why should she wait for something that she wanted at the risk of seeming 'desperate' or 'pushy'? If the guy was that egotistical, she didn't want him anyway. Turning around just in time to approach the door to her apartment, she leaned back against the door, and shrugged innocently. "I'm obviously not very good at that game, either."

Disorganized. He liked it. He was pretty much the same. The only thing that was even slightly clean and organized in his life was his car and his tools. Everything else just went where ever it landed. It was good to see that that trait about him probably wouldn't get on her nerves like it had every other girl that he had ever gotten even remotely serious about, not that he was thinking about serious already, it was just good to have foresight or something. "I'm a new age kind of guy." He said as he handed the phone back to her.

A brow arched slightly at the look that she gave him and he had a feeling that he knew what she was doing over there. Turns out he was right. He quirked that brow even higher as he took the phone out and looked at it. A new text from an unknown number. He grinned as his own fingers went to work.

C U then.

He waited for her to receive the message before he said anything further. "So I'll meet you here around.. let's say eight?" That seemed like a good time. Not too early. Not too late. And depending on what they decided to get into, there would be plenty of time without getting into it too early. "You gonna plan the evening since uh.. we're doing this whole reverse role thing?" He was mostly teasing, but then again, she probably knew the city better than he did.

She glanced down at her phone as it chimed to inform her of a new received message, holding it up for his inspection with a playful roll of her eyes as she playfully confided, "Ugh, it's this guy. He's totally into me." Grinning, she quickly read his text, nodding slowly and looking back at him with a wide grin dimpling her cheeks. She was certainly glad that he was being so receptive of her tactics. Some guys were entirely put-off by women who were only half as straightforward as she was, but luckily Alex was not one of them. Reaching around to put her phone back in her bag, she rummaged for a few seconds before pulling her hand back out, her keyring now dangling from her middle finger. "And eight sounds good to me." She would have said 'great', but didn't at the risk of sounding stupid when she rhymed.

A laugh bubbled from her lips at his last question, sporting a brow in his direction and offering him a scandalized look. "First I have to make all the moves, now I have to plan everything, too?" But of course she wasn't serious, and immediately averted her gaze to the ceiling, one eye closing with the strain of going through every Seattle spot she knew that might serve as a decent place to go with him. She finally thought of something though, because she made a little 'aha!' sort of noise and brought her attention back to his face. "Ok, so why don't we do this. Have you ever been to the Alibi Room? It's like this cute little restaurant slash bar place downtown. We can meet up here around eight, your one generous contribution to this plan, go there, and after that we can play it by ear. That way, if we end up hating each other, we can just end the date after dinner without having to make up a lame excuse." She smirked and jangled her keys noisily against her palm, raising both eyebrows as she awaited his reaction to this plan.

"Who, that guy?" Alex asked, and then he shook his head with a sigh. "I know that guy. He's bad news. Best you avoid that one." He grinned right after he said it and then laughed. She had a great sense of humor, that was for sure, which was probably one of the most important attributes in a woman, aside from a killer body, of course, which, from where he stood, she had that one covered as well. No, he didn't mind her being straight forward. Alex was one of those rare gents that appreciated a woman that knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. He had to respect someone like that.

"Of course." He said, a brow arching slightly. "We are living in a new age, after all." Again he was teasing her right back. Granted she probably realized that he didn't know the city that well considering that he had told her he had only been here for a short period of time. "I don't know it, but I'm sure I can find it. And that sounds like a plan." He doubted they wouldn't get along considering that they had so far, but you never could tell.

"We could always just meet there if you're that worried about it. That way you have your car too, in case you need to escape." He smirked. "Though I tell you what, if you absolutely detest spending time with me, I'll pay for the cab ride home." He doubted that she would. And taking separate cars would turn out to be more of a hassle than a convenience. He was fairly certain when it came to his charm and he had no doubts that they would want to ride back to the Towers together at the end of the evening.

"You know, I don't drive." She narrowed her eyes as she offered another sly smirk. "And since you don't know how to get there... why don't we just go together? Worse comes to worse I'll just take you up on that offer and your can pay for my cabfare. Practical and eco-friendly." Of course she was already pretty convinced that she was going to have a great time with this guy; he was adorable, chivalrous (as far as she could tell) and her sense of humor wasn't completely lost on him. Seemed like a winner, all in all. But hey, it never hurt to have a plan B, right?

"So I will call you," and here she pointed at him with one index finger, the other digits curling around her keys, "later this week. You know, just to make sure you're still game, which you'd better be. And... I will see you on Friday. Here, at eight." She dropped that same pointer to indicate the carpeted floor between them, then smiled and finally pressed her key into the lock of her door. Glancing back at him over her shoulder, she hesitated long enough to say, "Thanks again for the save, Lancelot," before she dissapeared inside, closing the door soundly behind her.

Boy, did she have a story to tell her roommate when she got home tonight.

"I should have guessed that." After all, she had been on foot when he met her. He laughed at her statement that it would be practical and ecofriendly. "Definitely." He was pretty sure that they wouldn't be parting ways too early on into the date as well, but really, you could never tell. Some people, you got along with the first time you met them and then, the more you got to know them, the less you liked them. Of course he hoped this wasn't the case on either of their accounts.

"Right here?" He asked, arching a brow slightly, pointing at the spot, being playful with her. "What if I wanna stand over there though?" He asked, pointing to another spot and then laughing. Of course all laughs seemed to pale compared to the last one. Lancelot? He couldn't claim to have heard that one before. "I'll see you on Friday." Or sooner, depending on their elevator schedule. Speaking of which, fuck! He had to start looking for a new job.

There was a part of him that felt a little bit of guilt once she was out of sight and he was walking away. He was supposed to be finding a nice girl for Nox, not for himself, but hey! At least now he'd have someone for those double dates, maybe, if only he could find another willing female party. Maybe Mikhal had a friend.
