Bastian gave a nod, handing over the bottle and trying to not read too much into that feeling that had begun to put him on edge. Though his appearance hadn't changed in too many years, her own had. At a glance he wouldn't know...but he had more then a glance now. There was something familiar about her. Something that tugged at him and refused to be easily dismissed. He knew better then to not trust his gut instincts...but with the worries he had in life now most of the time that instinct was more of a get the fuck out of there rather then linger and figure something out.
This feeling didn't make him want to run though. It....was confusing. That much he knew. The feel of her was familiar. The scent even. All those things he'd notice that a human wouldn't. More then that it was a look that reminded him of a woman long since dead. It wasn't the first time he spotted someone that looked like her.
But it wasn't like this.
Who had always looked so much like her? One person...and standing there he couldn't really believe it. He'd asked his old man about her when he got back...asked if there was any word. There wasn't any. The old man lost both of his kids...Bastian knew what it was like to live thinking you'd never see them again. He knew...and it wasn't a feeling he ever wanted the old man to have again. It wasn't one he ever wanted any of his family to have again.
He didn't say anything though, he watched her. Not obviously but all the same. He wanted to be certain. He needed to be certain. He didn't want to get his dads hopes up. He didn't want to think it was and then...realize that he was just making something out of nothing.
"Hey Bas!" one of the guys shouted, breaking him free of his thoughts with a quick glance their way. "You alright man?" the regular questioned, Bastian just waved his hand dismissively. Yeah...yeah he was fine. Or...at least he could claim to be. That is until she was speaking, questioning him on if she knew him. It made him look back. Really look. It had to be her.
"You don't know?" he questioned, a brow arched slightly and his words a bit guarded. He had to be anymore, no matter who was in front of him. "Yeah...I think you should." no, not think. It was her. That feeling was too strong. The look too familiar. It was just...he didn't even know how to explain what it was.
