Week Eleven: Thursday
Who: Tony and Eliina
Where: Tony's place
When: Thursday Evening
What: He pissed her off!

She'd been avoiding him. For weeks now. Avoiding him quite handily if she didn't say so herself. It would have been easier if she'd had a typical sort of job. One where she was only out about in the hours of the day where he would burn, hopefully to death. No, she had to work with others of his kind and it did necessitate hours that weren't always idea for avoiding fanged individuals.

But whether or not he'd had a mind to harass her, she'd done everything in her power to not have to see him, or think about him. Easier said in theory than actually done. Physically it hadn't been difficult but not thinking about what had happened that proved almost impossible. She just couldn't understand it. She avoided men, especially avoided men like Tony. Old vampires who had spent years manipulating and using those weaker than them. Perhaps that was a bit of a generalization based on little concrete knowledge... But Eliina was alright with that. She'd rather be safe than sorry.

Though safe was the last thing she'd been when she thought back on the memories of that night. Little sense that they made. Why? Why on earth had she done any of that! There was no logical explanation. It should have made her drink less, made her think that perhaps she did go too far and leave herself open to mistakes such as that... but it also was a fantastic numbing device when she couldn't stop thinking. In the end, yher vice always seemed to win.

Thursday had been a particularly long day at the office. All day in court then a series of appointments in the evening with clients who could not come to see her at any other point. Saying Eliina was exhausted by the time she arrived at her condo was something of an understatement. In her usual routine the mail was picked up, including the delivery. But it wasn't until she had set everything down in the entry of her condo that she had the space and hands to open the box. It was odd... she didn't often receive things, unless she had ordered them. And she didn't recall making any purchases recently but maybe something had been backordered that she had simply forgotten about.

Of course, it wasn't anything as simple or as pleasant as that. Eliina stared at the dress that was just under the fine wrapping. Even for a woman who took little heed of fashion, she knew that it was a beautiful dress. The work on it spoke of money. And she hated it. Hated it for being so beautiful and hated what it stood for. The bottle of wine was discovered next and set Eliina's blood to boiling. She was ordinarily such a cautious woman but here and now... that caution was set out the window.

There was only one person who would send her something like this.

Eliina's eyes flashed as she slammed the lid back on the box. She turned immediately on her heel and made haste out of her own condo. In her avoidance her own investigative work had been done and she knew exactly where he lived. The elevator ride was short, he lived far far too close. It was short enough that she still bristled with her anger when the doors dinged open. It only grew as she cross the hallway and approached his door.

She would not be his little doll to dress up either. Never again would she be that... thing. He could take his gift and shove it, quite literally. Which encompassed her plan entirely, to whoever opened the door.

It was not something that Tony had actually been thinking about. To him, it was little more than a gift in truth. He was well known for rewarding those that worked for him, especially the more useful ones. And while she hadn’t been useful herself, her legal department had. Of course, that was not the whole truth, but it was enough of it to soothe him.

Not that he thought she would accept it with any graciousness. No, not one little bit. That one was always too upset, too angry, too self righteous, and too anti-vampire it would seem, to even willingly accept a gift from one of them. But he sent it anyway. He did not, however, expect the reaction he would be getting. At most, he thought, she would just throw both out and it would be a waste of money. So far, he was good at underestimating just how foolish this particular woman was.

Granted, of course, the wine was more of a jab at her habit than a gift. But, he figured if she drank, she might as well drink the good stuff. The very best, or so he had been told anyway. Wine was never his strong point, and something he always took other people’s advice on.

The dress, though, that was something that was as much motivated by desire as anything else. Whenever he choose clothing for the women who worked with, or for him, it was always an outfit he wanted to see them in. Not that he had any plans for actually getting her into it, but that was how he picked out outfits. If they were not attractive in the clothing, it was not worth buying.

After she knocked on the door, Anthony would take a moment to open the door. He was not, after all, one of the most popular people around, and most took the care to let him know of their impending arrival. Business was business after all, so unexpected guests were a rareity for him. Once he realized who it was, he did open the door and take a step back from it as he arched an eyebrow at the young woman.

“I never thought I would see this…” he said with a faint smirk.

Everything about the gift was something that she should have been pleased, perhaps even flattered to receive. Almost any other woman would have been pleased as proverbial punch to see the gown and the expensive bottle of wine. But if one thing were to be said about Eliina... it was that she was not any other woman. Instead of pleasing her, his gift had hit on her every nerve, it had pushed her most volatile of buttons and had been the only thing short of forced coercion that would see her in front of his door.

But it had most certainly worked, if he actually enjoyed seeing an irate woman in his doorway? She would be the first to say that he would get some perverse sort of pleasure out of it.

Then again she did tend to characterize everything he did as perverse.

She waited, heeled foot practically stamping in impatience, for his door to open. She almost hoped he had a maid or someone to open the door so she wouldn't have to even see his face. But she wasn't that lucky a woman apparently. There he was, smirking face staring back at her and it only made her see red even more.

"Oh do shut up." Eliina finally burst out as the package was shoved back toward him. "I don't care what you ever thought you'd see or not. Just take this and never send me anything again."

As much as he enjoyed that irritated look on her face, Tony was more than certain he hadn’t earned it this time. As the package was shoved at him, his arm came up to block it out of habit and he merely arched an eyebrow at her. “Oh, really now?” he asked as he took his eyes off her for a moment as he gazed down at the box.

“Now, why would I not want to send you anything else?” he asked as he motioned toward it. “You’re such a gracious person who clearly can appreciate a gift in the manner its meant.” He said with a smirk. He tilted his head as he regarded her for a moment, then he just shook his head a bit. “Keep it. It was a gift.” He said in a simple voice.

He then turned and began to walk away from the door, letting its own weight and the hinges begin to close itself. He doubted he had heard the last of that, but he was not about to have that sort of argument in the hallway. She would have to find some other way to yell at him over it. It was too trivial for him to really care about at that moment.

Perhaps he deserved her rather over the top reaction, perhaps he didn't. Eliina was of the opinion that the rat bastard deserved whatever he got. She was aware that some of what she did was placing blame on Tony for his connection to one that was no longer living and that wasn't perhaps entirely fair... but it wasn't about to stop her. You try reasoning with her scarred psyche.

Eliina glared at his arm that blocked her attempted return. Why wouldn't he just take it so that she could be on her way? The answer to that was simple, he was an ass. Asses never made things easy. "Exactly. I am more than gracious for your ridiculous gift," she said practically spitting the words out. Too bad his words were followed by a request to keep the gift.

And even worse he was walking away without the box in hand. She knew it was stupid. Knew that she should have just dropped the box where she stood and walked away herself. But she didn't. Instead she sought some sort of satisfaction by making him take the package and making him understand that she would never accept anything from him. "NO!" Eliina followed just moments after he made his turn to leave. "I will not keep it as a gift. I will not dress up like a little doll for you or for anyone else ever again. So you can take your dress and...." She nearly sputtered for a moment, "shove it." She finally settled for the less than eloquent phrase. She was upset, any beautiful turns of phrase had long since escaped her.

Oh yeah, this was going to end well. Tony deserved a lot of things, and more than likely deserved most ‘over the top’ reactions, but that wasn’t going to change the vampire’s reactions to them. Scarred psyche or not, there were some things that he just would not tolerate.

When she came into his home, without being invited none the less, Tony turned back to arch an eyebrow at her. He knew she could be very foolish, but even he didn’t think she was that foolish. And even then, began the insults. The ones he usually found so amusing and entertaining. But at that moment, inside of his own home, he knew he was going to find them just insulting.

“Shove it?” he asked with that arched brow as he just regarded the young woman. The closing of the door behind her was quite ignored. “When did I say anything about you becoming a dress up doll?” His hands linked behind his back as his gaze narrowed a bit further. “I suggest, Eliina, that you turn around right now and go home and be a good little girl, for your own sake.”

His body straightened up just slightly as he continued to watch her. Somewhere deep down, he knew she was not going to take the advice. She never seemed to. “Take the gift and go Eliina.” He repeated softly, as his eyes flickered toward the door for a moment, before they returned to her.

Nothing about this spoke to a pleasant end to the evening. All her intelligence was long gone, left behind in her own condo and just replaced by anger with a healthy dash of stupidity. It wasn't entirely unexpected stupidity though, for all the parts of her life she sought to retain control over now... her reaction to things that reminded her of her past was one thing she had never been able to maintain a grip on.

She despised that fact, but here she was flying off the handle when that could only get her into trouble.

Eliina didn't want to be in his home, invited or uninvited. He was giving her no choice by being so rude as to just walk away, yes that was it. Nevermind the fact that she was screeching at him from the hallway. She was determined that the box would be left in his hands and her own would be empty by the time she left and nothing as simple as etiquette that had been ingrained in her from such an early age would stop that pursuit.

"Yes. Shove it, take it, give it to some more deserving woman." Eliina rattled off quickly as she advanced after him, her anger beginning to fade to some pained sense of desperation. "You don't have to say it, your actions speak far louder than words." She pushed the box toward him again plaintively. "Please just take it. I will go, just take it." Eliina was nearing the end of her rope, as tenuous as a hold as she seemed to have on it anymore. And yes she would lay that blame on him now. Did he want her to cry? She would and not because she was the sort of woman who used tears to get what she wanted, but just because it meant that much to her.

It just reminded her far too much of what she had worked so hard to get away from. "I can't take your gift, I WON'T take it. Just take it back." Her face screwed up for a moment as if she was trying to force herself to say something, which she was. "Please. Anthony." She even used his first name. Woah. The gift was pushed towards him one last time.

Tony just stood there for several moments as he watched her. His hands never moved, not even his eyes moved to meet the box at all. Instead, they just rested on her own eyes. Yeah, there was emotion going on behind hears, that much was easy to tell. Though, he wasn’t sure just about how much of that he really cared about. No matter which way it was turned, it was an insult to his own honor that she was there forcing the box back onto him.

“I did give it to a deserving woman.” He said simply as he tilted his head. “I know you’ve looked into my past. I would be greatly disappointed if you were not at least that competent. Those that serve me well, I reward. It is as simple as that. Or are you really that self centered to think that all vampires want to make you their little dress up doll to prance about with?”

He then crossed his arms over his chest. Her last words got his own expression to soften a little, but he had just as much pride on the line as she did. “And why can’t you? It is only a dress, Eliina. Nothing more sinister than that. Not a ploy, not a gimmick, just a piece of cloth. Wear it, don’t wear it, I honestly don’t care. But I am not going to take it back just because you show up at my door in the middle of the night and start screaming at me.”

“You of all people should know that I will not tolerate that within my own home. Nor will I give that warning again.” He said simply as he kept that narrowed gaze on her.

Eliina didn't truly expect him to care, care about any of it. Not her reasons, her emotions or even how she eventually came out of this encounter. She was simply running out of options and her emotions were beginning to get the best of her. That seemed to be a theme around him. She really did need to work on that. Or go back to entirely avoiding him. The latter was probably the best option.

Eliina immediately balked at his words, her spine straightening and her mouth forming an 'o' of protest. "I am not serving you. Not in a way that needs to be rewarded." She immediately retorted, her voice rising in volume. Oh no, whether he meant legal services or... or otherwise she was not about to hear that phrase used idly. It rubbed her all sorts of wrong. Her spine already straight as a board she couldn't help but flinch as he called her self-centeredness into question. Was that the truth of it? Was she merely going too far with it all in her head based on her own past. "I don't think that all vampires want something from me. Just ones that give me dresses, mock me and..." She left it at that, not wanting to even bring up what they had done the last time they'd been in the same proximity.

Eliina sighed, her shoulders starting to droop. "It's not just a dress. That's why. Nothing is ever as simple as you're trying to make it out to be. If it's just a piece of cloth as you say... it shouldn't matter for you to take it back." Clearly it was far more than a dress for both of them. Just for different reasons. "Would you rather I had come in the morning?" She began before pausing. Eliina balanced the box on one arm as she raised the other and tilted her head down. "I shouldn't have screamed." She finally admitted, the closest to an apology he'd likely get.

If there was one thing that Tony was really good it, it was getting emotional reactions out of people. For better or worse, passions usually seemed to run high in his presence. Not always to his benefit, either. Such things often got him into some form of trouble, but that was what kept life interesting. If things didn’t go boom, or crash and burn at some point, life was just boring. And there was nothing worse to an immortal than a boring life.

“You do serve me, whether you want to use the word or not. You work for me, and while you do not work for just me, you still work for me. There is little difference between that and serving.” Her next words made him smirk as he shook his head a little bit. “I hate to burst your little bubble there, but you are not the first woman in this city I have bought a dress for. And I assure you, that when I do buy such outfits, they meant for the person involved. I doubt you would even be caught dead in the revealing dresses I have bought other allies.”

“And yes, I do mock you. You give me little option in that regard. You do nothing but assail and insult me. Belittling everything I say and do. Be thankful that I like you, otherwise you would have seen my temper in full already. And I quite assure you, even Lorenzo knew better than to draw my full rage upon him.” He took a deep breath, then, and while the action wasn’t really needed for the long dead vampire, it helped to focus his thoughts.

“Yes, it is just a dress. Elegant, classy, something a high class lawyer would wear to a social function as it plays off her beauty without being as revealing as a street thug like myself would far prefer. It was nothing more than that. If I had planned on making you some sort of dress up doll, I would have left a note saying where and when I wanted you to wear it. I am not your former master, Eliina. I have little intention of adding you to my collection of pets.”

“But you are right in one regard. The bottle of wine was meant to rouse a little bit of ire in you. A poke at that drinking habit you know I don’t approve of. Even if it is the finest bottle of wine available in the city. If you really plan on drinking yourself to death, then you might as well enjoy the best booze around, yes?”

“And no, morning would have been bad. I’ve never quite been a morning type of person..” He even gave her a soft smile as he spoke those words. The anger he had been feeling before was, slowly, beginning to dwindle.

Tony's words only served to cause Eliina to bristle more. Her shoulders couldn't get any straighter as her eyes flashed, never ceasing to glare at him. God he pushed her buttons. "I can choose to represent you or not. The latter sounds more and more appealing as the days go on, that is something you should remember when you talk of my... service to you." That word never ceased to turn her stomach. It wasn't her fault that the word had taken on a much different meaning over the course her lifetime.

"You opinion of me matters little. I'm not entirely certain what I might do to keep you from..." She lifted her fingers to perform everyone's favorite air quotes. "liking me. Feel free to point me in the right direction." Eliina shut her mouth, the force making a sound that was likely audible to him with his advanced senses that she lacked. She knew she had to stop herself. While she might not want him to like her in any way, she didn't want his rage either. That much she knew and didn't need personal experience to back up.

Eliina's fingers curled painfully around the cardboard edge to the box she held, her knuckles white. Too many mentions of Lorenzo when her emotions were already too high. That and him mentioning what was perhaps her worst fear. "Stop. Just stop. You've made your point. I don't care what I look like when I attend these functions you refer to so this is unnecessary." She wouldn't wear it, she had long ago ceased to wear anything that highlighted whatever beauty she possessed. "And I don't want to hear about your... collection of pets that you already have. If I ever find a way to successfully raise a case against your kind for keeping... people, I'll be sure to put you to the front of the list. Maybe if I win that case I'll find reason to wear this." She tried to challenge, but the spark was quickly deflating in her, replaced by her own worries and insecurities. Her voice lacked the edge of anger that it had held early and instead reflected the truth, that she didn't think there would ever come a day where she would be able to follow through with her threat... for too many reasons most of which she didn't care to examine.

Eliina glanced down at her hands that held the box all too tight and quickly bent down. She set the box square on the floor and opened the lid. She didn't let her fingers caress the soft silk even though part of her wished for that, instead she reached in and just retrieved the bottle of wine. "I suppose you are right in one thing. I can keep this and proceed to drink myself to death with it. How very kind of you." She said as she straightened back up to her full height.

And she likely would have the bottle finished off within the hour.

“Yes, you can choose whether you do or not, I’m sure. Just we both know that you won’t stop. Much as you seem to hate me, as much as you’ve little reason to, you’d rather have me someplace you can watch, than someplace you can’t see me wondering just what I might be up to.” Tony said with a wry smirk as he regarded Eliina for another couple of moments.

“Do you really want me to point you in the direction of me no longer liking you?” he asked as he let his arms fall to rest at his side, before he linked his hands behind his back again. “I’m sure I can come up with a way or two for you to annoy me that badly, but are you sure that’s the direction you really want me to point you into?” Just the thought of her wanting him angry at him brought to mind some amusing images. Though, he really didn’t need to be mad at her to follow through on those feelings. He could do just fine with those just pretending. Not that she needed to know the difference.

“Yes, you can drink yourself to death. All alone in your home. If you really wish for oblivion that badly, Eliina, all you need to do is ask. From what my spies tell me, that seems to be just about all you do. Work and drink.” He shook his head at the very thought as he took a step back and he hmmed a bit. Her other words, however, brought to mind a thought. If there was one true fault to Tony, it was that he was sometimes overly ambitious for his own good. Of course, it would need the proper push. “Like you were punishing yourself and wallowing in guilt for what happened to Lorenzo.”

That smirk returned to his face again as he let his eyes wander along her form for a moment, and then he let a thought escape from his mind into hers. An image of what she would look like wearing the dress. You should keep it. would be the thought from him that echoed within her mind. He knew that was only going to piss her off even further. Silly girl was never the type to take anything with any sort of ease.

“Though, you know… I could help you with that.” He added as he made a motion toward her. “I do know a lot of the secrets of the particular world you hate so much. And I do know more than a couple of groups that do to others what was done to you. But then again, I doubt you would even accept such an offer. It would mean you’d have to work with me to bring some of these people down, and I doubt you can swallow your stubborn pride long enough to help other innocents.”

The smirk that formed on Tony's face caused Eliina's features to tighten for a moment. Her eyes narrowed and she took in a slow breath before she spoke again. "They always say it's best to keep your enemies close... and no that does not constitute any agreement with you on my part." Eliina had to be certain to add. God forbid she let anything resemble her agreeing with him exist in the world. Hell might have to have a snow flurry or two first.

"You act as though I have no idea what that would be asking..." She did. She knew full well what it could mean to anger a vampire of enough years. Though she had been entirely under lock and key the last time that had happened. She bore the scars still from it. But she wasn't under Tony's lock and key. Angering him felt like her one true way of proving that to herself as much to him. Stupid though. Entirely too stupid. "You could just attempt to keep a professional relationship with your attorney... I don't think that too much to ask." She finish snidely not wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt that his words actually gave her pause.

She wished however though that she had just walked away. Perhaps that she'd never even come by to throw his gift back in his face. Not when he decided to step out on a limb that made her body go cold. There was a momentary flash of her eyes as Lorenzo's name was spoken. A hush that came over her for a split second and killed any other snide remarks she had in store for his previous commentary on her drinking. "Friend, and I use that word loosely, of yours or no... that bastard got everything he deserved." her words were spoken coldly. Perhaps too coldly but it was better to use that tone than to relate any of the guilt that she wouldn't admit to feeling over having taken his life, deserving or no.

All thought of Lorenzo was forcibly wiped from her mind. Pushing the thoughts out, her mind was flooded with a momentary image of the very dress she sought to push away from her, slipped over her form and looking back at her as if seeing herself reflected in a mirror. It sucked the air from her lungs, not the dress but the fact that she was seeing it... Eliina squeezed her eyes shut pushing the image and the thought left with it out of her mind. Opening her eyes again she took two rapid steps forward, lifting her hand she swung quickly aimed for his cheek in a resounding slap.

"I don't care what you may or may not be offering. It's all a game and I won't play it with you."

Oh, if only she had any idea just how true that was. Vampires took that particular saying and turned it into an art-form, where most ‘friends’ were in truth enemies kept close enough to make a working relationship. “Agreement about what?” he asked even as that smile only widened. But he did not get the chance to say much more than he had already when her hand snapped out in that slap. Normally, he would have been fast enough to catch her wrist, but he had truly not considered her that foolish and was, for the moment, caught off guard.

It would likely give her a moment of pleasure as he stood there, his head shifted to the side from her slap. In fact, for several long moments he did not respond at all. Then, when he did it was a hand to reach up to his cheek so that his fingers could rub his cheek for a moment. “Clearly, you do not know what you would be asking. Otherwise, you would not be this.. stupid.” He said in a soft voice. Too soft perhaps.

“Yes, I am sure that… bastard got what he deserved.” He even paused before he said the word as his gaze shifted back toward her. His eyes, usually so filled with amusement, were no longer so. Instead, they just stared at her, just as emotion filled, but no longer with amusement. Though, I would think, given that he saved you from a life of being a little gang bang slut rented out for a couple of dollars, that you would be a little kinder in your words toward him.”

Tony straightened out a little bit more as that smile returned to his lips then. Though, this time it somehow had a darker aspect to it. The vampire was indeed, no longer amused. “And yes, I could attempt to keep this relationship professional. Funny, you should say that, given that you’re the one who keeps trying to make this personal. The one who keeps getting into my face. I wonder who here can’t keep professional.” He taunted.

But then, his voice dropped just a little. “And yes, it’s all a game. But I wonder just what game you were talking about. Was this a game you often played with Lorenzo? Get him angry enough until he just threw you down and took what he wanted from you? Is that how you truly enjoy it, little Eliina? To be forced to serve your master?” Oh yeah, that smile only widened as he spoke.

There was satisfaction in hearing the sound of her palm hitting flush with his cheek, and watching his head snap to the side. She took the pleasure and parceled it away for later. It wouldn't do to revel in it during the here and now, that much Eliina knew for certain. Her hand retracted, Eliina retraced one of her steps, putting some distance between them. Clearly it wasn't nearly enough once he started talking again...

But was it ever really enough? The answer was becoming more and more clear that there was no acceptable distance from him for her.

Her shoulders stiff, Eliina shot a hand up, holding her palm out in a stop gesture. As calm as the movement seemed, her features held none of that ease. "Don't. Don't even say what horrible things he saved me from..." the word saved was barely hissed out. "If it weren't for assholes like him, there would be no need to take children from their homes. I had a family, I had brothers who loved me dearly. A mother. A father. HE took me from all that." She finished her hand dropping and her fingers curling into her palm tight enough to draw blood. While Lorenzo had not physically taken her, she'd be damned if it wasn't for him and men just like him that the need existed.

Her pulse was rapid, she could hear it in her own ears and lord only knew how loud it reverberated for Tony. She didn't care to think on that especially not as his face took on that hated smirk again. She tried to brace herself for his words. Tried to and failed. Instead her features screwed up in a look of frustration and anger all compiled into one. "I have no desire to make anything personal-" She tried to protest but it was all in vain. She knew where her own arguments failed and where she would be talking in circles.

And that was simply impossible with him. Not when he had the singular ability to make her see red. Nothing but red. It didn't matter if she knew that his words were meant to provoke... there were somethings that she couldn't just walk away from. Stubborn. Stupidly stubborn. Likely playing right into his hand. The step that had been put between them was quickly closed and Eliina pushed up ever so slightly onto her toes. "It was never a game. He always took what he wanted and I never enjoyed it. But that's how men like you enjoy it though isn't it? Forcing the unwilling, playing the power game?" Eliina gritted out knowing that she was walking down a path with no return. "Fuck you and your games." With that said instead of laying her hand against his cheek again, she went straight to the heart of the matter, her knee going straight up. One of the few things that she knew could hurt the undead as much as it hurt the living. At least momentarily.

Until she changed her own ways, Tony was always going to be like this. Always going to provoke, and taunt until he got just this sort of frustrated angered reaction. As dangerous as it was to do such things, it kept unlife from getting boring. After a couple of centuries, daily life got boring, fast. It was one way to keep things interesting, even if the other party happened to disagree quite strongly.

“Yes, yes. Classic story. Blame the vampire for humanities ills.” Tony just smiled in return to her words. “Because , you know, humanity never enslaved itself. All our fault, because we just happen to enjoy forcing ourselves upon little children. Woo is us.” He actually laughed at he said it. He always found the excuses of mortals for the evils of the world to be one only worth his laughter. After all, humans were more than capable of being evil and raping women and children all on their own, without any influence from demons or vampires or any other creature.

He listened to her next words, however, and while he was no longer amused, he was more than clear enough to hear what she said. Which, didn’t help when she kneed him. Despite being mortal, and despite the fact that his body actually had been dead for centuries, he was still a man. And just as sensitive in some spots. He felt pleasure and pain just as any mortal man would. And at that moment, it was the pain that was over taking him, as he stumbled back a step, and bent over. His eyes clouded over with pain for one brief moment.

He gasped for a moment for breath that he didn’t truly require any longer. When his eyes looked back at her, there was nothing human left in them any longer. But neither were they cold and unfeeling. No, this time, his eyes were filled with a rage that almost made them blood red in color as the blood that kept him alive began to boil to the surface of his body. “Mistake.” He growled. And it was a true growl, even to the point of baring his fangs as his attention shifted fully toward her.

At that moment, his arm came up and to the side in a backhand motion toward her own cheek. The backhand as quick and powerful as he was able to make it. At that moment in time, Tony did not care what was in front of him, nor just how much of his strength he might be using. Not even the thought of just how fragile humans really were in the grand scheme of things entered into his mind.

Just like a man. To place the blame on a female. If she was bitchy, she clearly deserved whatever she got. He couldn't the bigger individual and keep his cool? No. Certainly not. Well maybe she was getting ahead of herself. If she was being honest she was provoking. She knew she was. But couldn't seem to stop herself from trying to give as good as she'd received for too many years.

"Did I say vampire." Eliina shot back quickly. "Just pathetic men like him." She quickly clarified. Though she did hold her tongue enough to not add 'and like you' though by the look in her eyes it was clear that she had meant just that. It was that pointed look she liked to give him. The look that said she really did hate everything about him. And at that moment she did. Belittling children being torn from families and used in the way children never should be... he did deserve whatever came his way and she'd take the punishment for it.

And that came in full. She'd been expecting it. Eliina wasn't so foolish to think that she could get away with something as... ballsy (for lack of a better word) as kneeing Anthony and walk away from the scene. She hadn't turned to run knowing that if he sought her she couldn't beat him and didn't want to give him the pleasure of chasing her down like some animal. Not that she had much of a chance for that either way. Instead she was met with the full force of a look she never truly wanted to see again. Anger that went beyond anything any mortal could show flared at her and she wished her feet were quicker and to hell with letting him try and chase her down.

Tony's word barely had time to register before she felt his hand connect with her cheek. There was a rush of air and then a loud thud. The next thing she consciously knew was that her back was slumped against the wall, her legs sprawled in front of her gracelessly and everything hurt. Especially that ringing in her ears. Eliina blinked a bit groggily wondering if it had just been a moment or longer and lifted a hand to gingerly wipe at her cheek. She removed the small trickle of blood that had formed at the corner of her lips and stared at the scarlet splotch for a moment before looking up at him. Oh she still hated him, but she had to respect his strength. It certainly didn't mean everything though.

"I hope you feel like a big strong man now." She placed a hand behind her on the wall and pushed slowly, trying to get to her feet unsteadily. It really was time for her to make her exit if she could.

The rest of her words didn’t matter to him. Not one little bit. It was, instead, the little dig that she just had to insist on giving. While just about any other day, Tony would have just grinned and enjoyed the banter, it was not any other day. Instead, the foolish girl just had to go and insult an enraged vampire. When his head cleared, trying to figure out just how she had survived so long just might be something he would focus upon.

Those bloodshot eyes narrowed on her, and he slowly rose to his feet. Well, slowly in his mind. In truth, the movement would be rather quick. As his eyes focused on her, he growled out, “You really do not know when to shut your mouth.” And then, he was moving. There was no real thought behind his actions. None whatsoever. Even as a mortal, he had quite a temper. After he had been tuned, those periods when he was enraged, only proved to be that much more destructive. And so, he stormed toward the young woman.

It would only take him a moment to cross the distance between where he had been standing, and where she was against the wall. Only, this time when his hand lashed out, it would not be to hit her. Instead, she would find his fingers curling around her throat, and he then lifted her off the ground to slam her hard against the wall. Now low, however, but he would hold her quite high off the ground. High enough that her head was just shy of the ceiling. And then those fingers would begin to squeeze. It would seem, at that very moment, that he was fully intent upon choking the life out of her.

A few moments later, however, those fingers would loosen and he would lower her down a bit more. Whether he had never planned on choking her, or had come to his senses would be hard to tell. Now, she would be just barely off the ground, low enough that her toes would be able to touch it, though he was still holding most of her weight in the air, without even so much as a look of effort from the vampire. He then leaned in close, so that his following whisper was easy to hear. And those fangs, he so often took care to conceal were clear as day , even though his eyes were only inches away from her own.

“Say one more word, just one, and I will make you my pet. And the suffering I put you through tonight, will make the rapes you endured from your last master seem like Sunday school picnics. Be a good girl, and maybe I’ll let you walk out of here with just the bruises you have gotten so far. Just try and call me on this, and anger me even more, Eliina. I would love to have a plaything for the night. Feel free to nod if you understand me.”

His voice was soft, and calm in the whisper. Far too calm for the look in his eyes, and the way his face was set. The anger and emotion was still quite clear in both his expression and his eyes, just not in his voice. Just that steel, calm quality one would expected of a hardened cold-blooded killer

Looking at her now, it would be a good question as to how she'd survived as long as she had. But that was just it. So many years of restraint, years of biting her tongue because she had to. It was like a floodgate had opened and taken with it common sense. She had learned to shut up far earlier when she was younger. Always smiled and nodded even when she wanted to rail against the older man. She had fought back on more than one occasion and the end result was always the same.

Like it was now. But sometimes you just had to fight or lose yourself with your acquiescence.

Eliina's eyes squeezed shut as his hand curled around her throat and propelled her upward. She fought against panic as she felt her air restricted. Such lack of control triggered every panic element in her body, making air that much harder to come by. She tried to remain still knowing that struggling would only make it worse.

If she could have taken in a deep breath of relief when she was finally lowered, just close enough for her toes to reach she would have. One small bit of purchase, not enough but it was something. Anything was taken as he moved in so close, bearing everything that she knew could harm her. Harm her in ways she didn't like to remember. Her eyes squeezed shut, maybe she was just a coward underneath it all. But if he were going to do more she just didn't want to see it. What happened happened she knew she was powerless anymore.

His words stung, her eyes squeezing impossibly shut. They hit down to her very quick re-hashing memories that she so desperately wanted to forget. She took his advice for the first time that night and did as he requested. Her head nodded slowly, despite the pain that was rapidly growing throughout her head. She understood. She might hate it, but she understood.

Tony didn’t move for several long moments as he just stared at her. She was right in one thing about him. He craved power. Power over others, power over everything around him. Power like he had at that very moment over her, and he did indeed relish in it. The predator over the prey in this instance. But, there was another reason why he remained there unmoving.

His temper. It was going to do him no good, and he knew it. But he also knew that he couldn’t calm himself down, and slow himself down quickly. He needed moments. As he watched her reactions to his words, and the fact she finally seemed to understand their positions did a lot to help him push aside that anger and get his mind to focus on the task at hand. His breathing would soon take on a more even, relaxed sound as his mind and body began to relax.

Once that had happened, his fingers uncurled from her throat. He knew she wasn’t going to try to run away from him at that moment, not with him so close. And then, the fact that he only moved closer. His hand dropped down to her waist, even as his body seemed to get close enough to just barely touch her own. He knew she hated the closeness, though now he knew just the exact reason why that was, but for the moment, it was yet another weapon he was going to use against her.

He leaned forward, so that when he spoke, the air of his words would flow over her ear as if it were one lover whispering to another. “You may answer this.” He whispered, his words just loud enough to be barely heard by normal hearing. “Yes, or no. Do you wish to strike back against those like the ones who ripped you away from your family? To make suffer those that would sell women and children to be abused?”

“If yes, then I will help make that happen. If no, then I will let you return to your home knowing that others are suffering what you did even as we speak. The choice is yours, I will neither speak of it again, or offer you the aid that you would surely require for this.”

It was one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do. Remain as still as she could while he remained in front of her, holding her life so casually between his fingertips. But she did it. To the best of her ability. Nothing was going to quell the slight tremor that had settled in over her bones. Nothing but a few pills, some wine and a long nights rest. And that would be the only way she would sleep all night.

Eliina curled her fingertips into her palm. Holding them tight willing his form to relax before her. She wasn't the praying type. She almost wished she was. All that she could do was try and control herself. Where she had so spectacularly failed before. Victory though came, well if you could call not dying in that moment a victory and at that point in time... Eliina did. She wanted to scurry towards the door and from his condo the moment she was released by she did know better and wasn't about to push the bounds of better reason again. She'd done that quite enough for one evening.

Despite her hard earned control... she flinched as he moved in close. Her body tensing, tension vibrating through her form. He had that right, she hated the intimacy that he took such liberties with. It was her own fault for making that so clear to him. She stood, listening... his words forcing her lips into a tight line that pulled at a frown. Her head shook raggedly. "Don't... Don't make me do this." She tried to plead at first.

Of course she wanted what he proposed. Wanted each and every person that thought it was acceptable to do what had been done to her staked and used as an example to the rest of the world... but not with him. She didn't trust him. She just needed to be as far from him as she could be. "There isn't a choice here and you know it." She finally said.

“I will let that one slide.” Tony whispered against her ear. “You keep making the mistake, Eliina, of assuming you know anything about me. About what I would do, and what I will do. You should stop that.” He lowered his head then, as he brought his lips down against her neck, and his fangs teased her skin ever so lightly before he lifted his head once again.

“And yes, I know you don’t trust me.” He said in that soft voice of his. He pulled back just enough then so that he could look into her eyes. If she opened them to return his gaze that is. His other hand, however, would reach up to wipe off some of that blood that still flowed from her lip. “But you are just going to have to deal with that.”

His lips then curled into a faint smile as he continued to stare at her expression, and her eyes. “Nobody else will offer you this. Nobody else will help you do what I am proposing. And yes, you will be serving my own agenda by doing this. You will have to decide for yourself whether or not you can deal with that. If not, I will find some other means of forwarding my own goals.”

He then leaned forward again so that his next words could whisper into her ear. Only this time, his cheek would brush up against hers as he spoke. “You walking out of this apartment unspoiled comes with a price, Eliina. One you will not like. But one you will willingly pay when the time comes. Willingly. Otherwise you can pay it right here and now.”

Tony then took a step back and away from her. And then another. “Now leave.” He said in a soft voice, only this time that growl was back in his words. “Before I change my mind and go back on my word and give into my desires and keep you tonight. Leave the wine, and the dress. You will get both back, when the time is right.” He took another step, and to the side as he motioned toward the door. “You have one week to give me a full answer. I expect you at my door no later than next Friday. Now leave.” And the way it was said, he was not going to repeat it again.

Eliina wasn't certain that her body could stiffen anymore than it already was, she felt near to snapping. The muscles of her body held taunt as he moved in toward her. She could feel the press of his teeth against her skin and it made her want to recoil. Too many times. But there was little she could do about the situation so there she stood, willing him to pull back.

Which much to her own surprise he did. Just a taunting motion. Yet another reason why she could't bring herself to accept his offer. She didn't want that in her life again. Constantly on edge, wondering what the next move would be. It was almost a shock that her heart had lasted as long as it had as wound up as she often was. Eliina blinked slowly, pulling in her breath slowly. "I'm well aware that nothing in life is free." She said slowly taking his words in and noting them. As flustered as she was, she'd remember each and every detail. Food for thought later.

She almost fell forward when he finally took that step away from her form. For her own pride she caught herself, feeling the rush of adrenaline finally start to leave her form leaving in it's wake all the pain of the bruises she'd bear later. She kept the biting glare from her eyes, instead putting on her best impassive face she found her feet and moved toward the door as she'd been instructed. She wasn't about to linger.

"You'll have an answer," she assured him. Though part of her wanted to just never respond but she knew all too well that there would be a price for that as well. That said, she was out of his condo, as fast as her wobbly legs would take her.
