Week Seven - Thursday
Who: Kaden and Serena
When: Early evening
Where: The Towers and then out for date night
What: Date night, duh!

Originally he'd just planned a casual evening for them...drinks at a little bistro downtown, a walk through the park....but somehow that hadn't seemed like quite enough. This was the woman he'd intended to marry, after all, he could do better than a walk. So a last minute change of plans had instead landed them a private dinner cruise - Serena mentioned she liked to sail, it seemed like a better way to spend their evening. He wouldn't be eating, of course, but he didn't mind watching her. Besides, cruising along the water seemed a little bit more romantic than the park. In the distant past, he could remember liking boats. Here was to hoping that had stayed true over time.

They'd agreed to head out after sunset, no truly specific time set, and since he didn't have far to go there was no rush. It was about an hour after the horizon darkened when he headed out, a bouquet of multi-colored miniature roses in his hand. At least he could make new memories - he hadn't forgotten that she'd like them in the short time span since he'd rushed over to verify what he'd hoped was a memory. He wasn't really the "dress up" type, but he'd figured this occasion warranted his best shot; he'd gone with black boots, jeans and a blazer in the same hue, over a deep gray striped button down. It was more than the typical for him and truly about as formal as he got without the equivalent of a gun to his head...at least, he liked to think so, couldn't remember, really. Maybe he'd been a suit guy in a 'past life,' but he seriously doubted it.

Tugging his door closed, he dropped the keys into his pocket and crossed the short distance to Serena's apartment. Raising a hand, he knocked aloud, jokingly hiding the flowers behind his back. Alright, so he couldn't remember dating....in about the last 50 years, but he couldn't be that out of practice, could he? He hoped not. From the other side of the door he could hear her pulse rate increase just slightly at his knock, picked up easily on the click of her heels against the floor as she headed his way. The scent of her perfume was easy enough to sense as well, a light smile gracing his lips as she pulled open her front door. "Evening," he grinned, sliding the bouquet out of hiding, "these are for you. And...," he reached into his pocket and produced a nicely sized chewbone, "for the man of the house." Kaden crouched, offering the treat up to Tony. "So," he gave the dog an affectionate scratch before he stood, "I'm ready to head out when you are. There's been a change of plans, by the way. The new destination is a surprise."

Serena had spent her day...giddy. Even when little things exploded at work, she had the biggest smile and treated it like it was no big deal. Okay so maybe she did that anyway, but today she was on cloud nine and nothing was going to bring her down. How could it when she was going on a date with the love of her life? Sure the circumstances were strange but she was looking at this as getting a second chance. To her it no longer mattered if his memory returned, as great as that would be, because as long as she had him that was all that mattered. Though it didn't help that she was nervous as hell about that spark still being there. Please, oh please!

As soon as her shift at the hospital was over, she rushed home and proceeded with the pampering. A nice, long bubble bath was taken and she spent extra time and care making sure she was practically glowing by the time it was all said and done. Long slender legs were smooth and silky by the time she emerged and her hair carried the faint smell of roses. Once she was dried off, she carefully combed and styled her hair, taming it into soft curls that fell down her back in a golden wave. The make-up she decided on was more on the neutral side but played nicely with her skin tone.

When it was time to be clothed, she chose a knee length dress that brought out her eyes and accentuated her curves in all of the right places. Though not wanting to come across too provocative, she chose a cream colored cardigan to cover her shoulders and then of course a pair of matching pumps to complete the ensemble. A pair of dangly teal earrings were added as an after thought, and before she could over think her outfit any more, she heard his knock sound at the door.

Her heart fluttered as she grabbed her clutch and hurried to let him in. "Hey," she grinned as she took in the sight of him. Good Lord that man was gorgeous. Her eyes lit up when the bouquet was pulled from its hiding place and she felt her cheeks grow warm. "They are beautiful, thank you." Inside she was a mess of nervous energy but she tried to remain as collected as possible. "A change huh? Let me put these in water really quick and we can go."

As soon as the flowers were put away, she stepped into the hall and closed the door. "Nice play with Tony by the way. Definitely earned you some points. Shall we?"

Kaden was re-learning this whole dating thing as he went. Luckily he felt pretty sure Serena knew all of his old tricks, that he might even be pulling them out without realizing. And, if not, well there was really no one he'd rather make an ass out of himself for at the moment. The flowers were a good choice, he was sure, especially given the little memory jolt and their conversation of earlier. Bringing a woman her favorite flowers prior to a date was always a good choice, right? Surely that hadn't changed over the years.

"Wow," he was genuinely struck for a moment when she opened the door, his usual cool taking a moment to recover from the sight of her, "you look incredible." It was stunningly simple the outfit she'd put together for their night out and the color of her dress was doing amazing things with her eyes. For a moment it was hard to look away, hard to remember to pull those flowers from behind his back to hand them over. He managed to jerk things back into gear and do just that before he knelt to offer up the surprise for Tony as well.

Kaden stepped just inside to wait while she found a vase for the bouquet and slipped the flowers into water, watching as Tony happily went to town on his latest toy. It didn't take long before Serena was back and the two were stepping back out into the hall so she could lock her door behind them. "A little bit of a change, yeah," he nodded, a mysterious smirk curling up the edges of his lips, "but I'm not telling, so don't even think about asking or trying anything cute. There will be no beans spilled tonight." He'd changed their plans specifically so she'd be surprised and hopefully pleasantly so. It would be a sign, or so he hoped, that while he might not remember their past together, he was working to learn what he could now. After all, she'd mentioned she liked sailing and that's exactly what they'd be doing tonight.

He offered her an arm so that the two could make their way down to his car where it waited in the building's garage. Like any good gentleman, Kaden moved to hold the door for her as she slid in, carefully closing it once she was settled. Moving around, he climbed in behind the wheel and started the engine so that they could truly be on their way. "So," he asked while pulling out onto the street, "how was work?" Conversation was always good, plus he intended to keep her as distracted as possible - didn't want her figuring out where they were heading before he was ready.

A soft pink flush coated her cheeks at the sight and sound of his reaction. Well it was good to know that she wasn't the only one being affected by the other's presence. Just the mere thought of it caused a tingling sensation to form in her chest. If she hadn't already been in love with him then she would have started to fall all over again. "Thank you," she smiled in reply. "You look rather handsome yourself." The man knew how to dress, there was no denying that.

When he mentioned not telling her anything, she scrunched her nose and made a face. "What about pouting? I can do a mean pout." As if to prove her point, she stuck out her bottom lip and made her eyes go wide. Unfortunately he didn't break. Dammit. Well she supposed some things never changed. Though when she really, really worked it she could get him to cave one out of three times. Not the best odds but hey, she liked that he didn't give in easily. "It's a good thing I like surprises."

As soon as his arm was offered once they were on their way, she slipped hers through his and almost shuddered at the sensations the contact created. Maybe it was all in her head, but she just couldn't get enough of this man. And even if it was, she wasn't ready to let it go just yet. It had seemed like a lifetime since they had last been together and she was going to enjoy every last moment. No taking anything for granted this time around.

"Good to see that your taste in cars hasn't changed," she grinned as she slipped into the seat. Classic cars had been one of the many areas of common ground that they had shared the first time around so the familiarity of it was quite nice. "Hmm? Work was really great actually. Today we were able to discharge a little boy who had been there for the past six months. It was really awesome to watch him be able to go home." Those were the moments that she lived for, the ones that made all of the long hours, blood, sweat and tears worth it.

"What about you? How did your gig go last week?" In all honesty he really didn't have to distract her because she only knew how to get to a couple of places. Yeah...she really needed to get a car.

"Eh, I try," Kaden shrugged non-chalantly as she returned his compliment. It wasn't exactly difficult for a guy to get ready for a date, wasn't much to it really. Sure, Kaden took more time to get himself ready, especially tonight, but then he'd wanted to make a good impression, had wanted her to see that he was putting the effort forth. He truly was giving this dating thing a try - just because he couldn't remember their past together didn't mean he wanted to miss out on a future. If she'd been important enough to him to propose to at one point, why couldn't she be again?

"I'm very glad you like surprises, 'cause I'm not about to spill," he grinned, offering up a playful wink as she took his arm. The point was that it was a surprise, that he'd made the effort to try and find something a bit more personal than the generic evening he'd come up with the first time - not that it had been a bad game plan, it just hadn't been quite up to the level he'd wanted. The change of plans was much better, surely it would make a bigger impression than a simple walk.

"Had a classic car back then too, huh?" He could remember always liking them, but the specifics were all a blank. Kaden settled in behind the well as he pulled away from the Towers, listening to her detail her day at work. He was glad to hear things were going so well, he knew how much her job meant to her. It would have been a huge blow for her to have had a rough time her first few shifts there. "I'm glad things are working out."

"Gig went good," he nodded, cracking a smile, "good thing I don't bruise easily. That might have affected things." Going up on stage after the blow her brother had dealt him, had he been human, would have surely disappointed that slim section of the crowd that came simply because he was attractive, though Kaden really could have given a damn whether or not those 'fans' turned out or not. "Got another one coming up this weekend, hopefully it'll be alright. We've never played the place before, so we'll see."

Gradually, as he drove, it would become obvious that they were heading towards the water...there was really no way to hide it. He pulled the car into a parking space at the marina where the boat for their dinner cruise was waiting, a few other couples already milling around as they boarded for the evening. "So," he moved around to open her door, offering her a hand from the car, "how's the surprise? Good?"

"You sure did and she was a beauty. 1975, cherry red Mustang. We made out a lot in that car." A soft giggle escaped her lips and she might have blushed a little more. They had done a few other things in that car as well but a first date was no place to talk of them. Mm, those thoughts caused a few tingling sensations to shoot through all of the right places in her body. Phew, deep breaths there Serena!

"Yeah, me too. It's amazing how quickly both hospitals started to feel like home. Of course I still don't know everybody but it almost feels like it does." Serena really couldn't have asked for a better positioned and thanked her lucky stars for it every night. She thanked them for bringing Kaden back to her as well. Yup, she was just one lucky girl, so here's hoping that luck doesn't run out.

Serena laughed. "Oh I'm sure you would have looked pretty sexy even with a black eye. You know, the whole rock n' roll thing would have played well with it." A lead singer who was drop dead gorgeous and could hold his own in a fight? Yeah, the female population could definitely get behind that one. "I'm sure you'll be great. New venues never slowed you down before." Back in New York it seemed like anywhere they played could be considered home turf. "Maybe one of these days I can come watch you play again. You know, and not try to kill you."

A soft chuckle filled the silence and she grinned to herself. It was good that she was able to ease into some playful banter with him once more. As they neared the water, Serena obviously took notice and couldn't help but smile when she saw the dinner cruise ship. "Great surprise," she smiled as she took his hand and stepped out. Could he be any more amazing? "Thank you," she added as she pressed a quick kiss to his cheek.

When it was time, they boarded with the others and she couldn't help but feel a little giddy. Oh how she loved being on a boat. "Hope you won't mind watch me eat," she said softly.

"Nice to know I've always had good taste," he quipped with a laugh. A '75 Mustang? In cherry? Definitely a classic. And ok, so maybe he was talking about having good taste in more than just cars...but who was keeping track? He was a man that just seemed to like timeless beauty, in whatever forms it might come in....cars, motorcycles, clothing, blond doctors....y'know, all the standards.

"Must be nice to already be feeling so settled there." Serena seemed the type to have an easy go at making new friends whatever it was that she worked and something told him that the kids in the hospital were already crazy about her. Some people just had that personality, those traits that let them insinuate themselves easily into their surroundings. Kaden didn't so much possess them, but then being a vampire sort of made one instantly hesitant to get too close too fast. Plus, he'd just never been that open....at least not that he could remember.

"I think I'll try to keep on with the shows playing bruise-free," he joked. The new venue had him a bit worried just because of how unknown it was. He'd bypassed a chance to go and look at it to be here with her, so he was walking in completely blind. It sounded like an adequate enough set up and, if it wasn't, well then they'd just make due. The band had played some pits, surely this place wouldn't be the worst by a longshot. "You should stop bye...I'll leave a list or something of what we've got coming up. Lemme know which show you can make it to, I'll put you on the list," Kaden grinned, tossing her a playful wink. The list...oooooh.

He locked the car behind them and the pair headed, arm in arm, for the dinner cruise that waited ahead. They checked in, bypassing a few couples on their way for drinks. After all, what was a date without cocktails? Kaden handed a glass of wine over, the vintage he'd spotted the last time he was in her apartment, and took a glass of a deep red for himself. It wasn't blood, but it was the closest thing he'd get there tonight. "Maybe I like watching you eat..." Most of their time together had, strangely enough, involved her eating. Maybe it was a theme they were developing....hmmm.

"Glad you like the surprise," and he was, too. There'd been a little worry in his mind that she might not be too keen on the idea, so he was glad to see that wasn't the case. They wandered across the deck, waiting for things to get underway, other couples milling around the boat with them. So far things seemed to be going well...he only hope that carried them through the rest of the night.

If Serena had known that he skipped a tour to be with her she would have felt extremely special and slightly guilty. She knew how much the old Kaden loved his music and performing and she wouldn't have wanted to keep him from checking out a new venue. "Ooo the list. Well doesn't that make me feel special." A light chuckle slipped from her mouth as she flashed a playful grin. "In that case I might have to try to see them all." Hey if she could go about it all VIP style then why not, right? And then there was the chance to watch him on stage again and that made her heart flutter.

The wine glass was taken with a smile and she took a slow sip. "Somebody has been doing his homework," she teased. She felt like a giddy school girl again with the way he was making an effort for their date. First the flowers, then the ship and now one of her favorite wines? It was something that the old Kaden would have done. Serena laughed. "Just promise you'll tell me if I get something in my teeth."

"I do, truly." This first date was definitely rivaling their previous first date. But then again they were both equally fantastic in different ways. The wine she had been carrying was enjoyed as they moved about and when dinner was announced, they both made their way toward the designated table. The food was absolutely fantastic and she couldn't help but laugh somewhere in the middle.

"So how's my eating? Sexy?" The glint in her eyes was playful as she laughed at herself.

Skipping an evening checking out a new club was nothing compared to spending an evening with someone that represented such a key part of your past, someone that you felt could come to mean something again. It was clear already that whatever spark they'd had before was far from being dead. It might have been a bit dull, covered over by a natural hesitancy on Kaden's part and an understandable bit of hurt on Serena's, but there was more than enough of a base upon which they could easily build something. "The list, indeed....you should feel very honored," he chuckled, giving her a good tease, "it's not as if I offer to put everyone on it after all. You'll get the top shelf beer instead of that low line stuff." His brows wiggled...tempting offer indeed, huh?

"I pay attention," he assured her with a grin, "I may not remember...alot, but I can pick up new things alright." He was making a special effort, sure, but then first dates were generally the biggest night to impress. He had to make sure that this night was a good one, especially if it might set the tone for things to come. None of that getting off on the wrong foot for them.

The walking, the talking, the looking out over the water...it was all a pretty good backdrop for the night. Thankfully it seemed things might be working out for the two of them so far. Fingers crossed, they'd stay that way. Eventually they managed to segwey to dinner, Kaden taking a seat across from her but only after pulling out her chair of course. He passed on dinner of course, but asked for another glass of the red he'd been drinking, settling in to watch Serena enjoy dinner. It wasn't as if the food tempted him, after all.

"Fantastic," he assured her with a grin. Here was to hoping this easy-going banter stayed with them all night. So far, so good.

If Serena hadn't been able to remember their first date then this one would have taken the cake so far. A dinner cruise was beyond romantic and with every touch and brush of his arm she could feel her heart flutter. There had never been a moment where she doubted her love for him and now it only seemed to increase tenfold. Sure they didn't quite "know" each other, and yeah he wasn't exactly the man she once knew but her heart didn't care about any of that. Deep down he was still her Kaders and she couldn't have loved him anymore if she had tried.

The waiter seemed slightly confused when Kaden passed on the food and it made Serena chuckle a bit. "You know you probably could have saved yourself some trouble by just renting a private boat for a couple of hours rather than attracting some odd stares." Not to say that this wasn't fantastic, but she thought maybe he would be more comfortable without having people wondering why he was passing on dinner during a dinner cruise. Personally Serena didn't really care but as long as Kaden was fine with it then everything would be okay.

"Right, I'm sure," she replied with a roll of her eyes. Watching someone eat wasn't exactly sexy unless it involved whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce. Oh, and of course it also had to be clothing optional. But enough thoughts about that! Her dinner was enjoyed while they chatted and the wine slowly disappeared from their glasses. Prior to dessert being served, the small band graced the room with a sultry singer and lured a few couples onto the dance floor.

Serena watched as the pairs made their way out and fell into a comfortable pace with each other. "Would you like to dance?"

Kaden didn't mind the stares when he passed on dinner. They wouldn't last long, after all, people would move on to something else worthy of their attention quick enough. Nowadays it was easy enough to cough up a quick excuse when it came to skipping a meal....dieting, refraining from eating meat, a religious reason...so many options made him more comfortable with not eating in public. "But on a private cruise, we'd never get so many interesting people-watching opportunities," he quipped with a smile. There was a handful of other couples on board with them and some looked to be quite the interesting pairs.

He also truly didn't mind watching her eat. He hadn't enjoyed food in years, but watching her do so was nearly as good. He'd planned tonight for Serena and, unlike him, she had to eat. Besides, it felt vaguely familiar to be sitting across from her while she enjoyed dinner...like a sense of deja vu had somehow managed to slip through one of the holes in his memory. It was only logical to assume he'd done this a hundred times before, that they had 'shared' more than their fair share of meals during the span of their relationship.

Before long dinner had ended anyway and the band on stage was drawing couples out to the makeshift dance floor. Had Serena not beat him to it, Kaden would have asked her to join him out there. How could you go on a dinner cruise with a live band and not dance? That was just rude. He moved to stand, offering her a hand up from her seat. Once she took it, Kaden lead the way out to an open space on the floor, turning to draw Serena up against him. One hand held hers as he took the lead, the other settling at the small of her back. "So," he glanced down at her with a smile, "having a good time so far?"

Serena chuckled as her blue eyes shifted from couple to couple. "Maybe you have a point," she said with a teasing grin. A few of the people around them were certainly interesting to watch. Like the one woman over Kaden's shoulder who looked like she had a flamingo perched on top of her head. Was that supposed to be a hat or her hair? It really could go either way and that was the scary part.

The air around them seemed to sizzle when she took his hand and she almost visibly shuddered when he pulled her against his chest. Her heart thundered and swelled in her chest. He felt like home. His question caused her to snap out of her little daze and she smiled almost bashfully at him. Like she had just been caught doodling his name across her notebook or something. "I am having a great time."

As they moved around the dance floor, she prayed that he couldn't hear just how hard her heart was beating. Part of her was worried that he would become overwhelmed with all of these feelings he was creating in her and the last thing she wanted was to scare him off. But nerves aside, they settled into a familiar rhythm and moved effortlessly together. How many times had he whisked her around the apartment in the past? God she missed those days.

"Thank you for tonight," she said as the current song faded into the next. "It almost tops our first-first one," she added with a grin. But then again the night was still young so who knows!

Several of the couples were rather interesting to watch, though there were a few who were also making this evening a very special night. An elderly couple a few feet away seemed the perfect picture of timeless romance: holding hands across the table, dancing together, sharing those secretive little smiles so common to a couple in love. It was heart-warming, really, even as it reminded Kaden what he'd truly never have. But tonight was not the time to dwell, he wouldn't let anything ruin their night.

"Good," he nodded, that familiar little grin in place as she assured him she was enjoying their night so far. He'd planned so carefully....but there was still the chance that all his hard work would be for nothing, that the night would be a dud. It was reassuring to hear that wasn't the case. Perhaps he was better at this dating thing than he remembered.

The sudden quickening of her pulse didn't go completely unnoticed, though he tried to ignore the unfair advantage he had over her - after all, she couldn't so easily read him. It was nice to know that he still had the ability to affect her, but focusing too intently on her reactions might lead to that very issue that she dreaded - it was best just to pay as little attention as possible.

"You're welcome," he assured her as the music transitioned around them, never interrupting the smooth movements of the couples scattered about the floor. "We must have had one hell of a good first-first one," he teased with a grin.

Serena chuckled. "You could definitely say that." Their first "date" had been a night of firsts in more ways than one. "I was in New York celebrating my graduation with some friends and you just happened to be playing at the first bar we stopped at." That night felt like a lifetime ago but she could still remember it so vividly.

"You came up during one of your breaks after my friends had left me to go to the bathroom and we ended up talking every free second you got." Her heart warmed as her thoughts drifted back to that night. "At the end of the night you told me that your car was out back and that you would take me anywhere that I wanted." She laughed. "You were pretty smooth back then."

"Like I told you earlier, she was a 1975 and cherry red. It was love at first sight. The car, not you," she teased. "From there we ended up going back to your apartment and the rest is history." So maybe technically it should have been a one night stand but it was something much more than that. It was the night that she fell in love.

"It was a good night," she added after a moment with a grin. "A very good night."

He may not have had the memories of their first date that she did, but the way she talked about it spoke volumes....so did that dreamy little smile she seemed to get on her face every time it came up in conversation - definitely a good sign. Of course, it also made tonight need to be that much more in order to live up to the hype. Good thing he was confident that he was up to the challenge - they were off to a good start now, weren't they.

Hearing about how they'd met, while it didn't jog any memories, was still nice...though it felt more like listening to the plot of a movie or some popular novel, not refreshing what your old life had been. Kaden tucked the information away regardless, wanting to burn it into his brain in case it might spark something in the future. Speaking of spark, there didn't seemed to be any doubt as to whether or not it remained between the two of them. The chemistry was nearly tangible in the air around them; had he been able to turn his attention away from her, he might have noticed the way the other couples looked on adoringly.

"Damn," he whistled teasingly as talk turned to the car he'd previously owned, "I wonder what happened to her after I disappeared..." That was one heck of a sweet ride to just lose - yet another downside of the whole memory loss bit. From what she had told him, about the car and the date itself, they were rather prone to making exciting memories together. As they danced, he toed the line between pestering her with questions and feeding his own curiosity. Whether it was the company or the setting or the entire feel of the evening, but before he even realized it, they were the only couple left on the dance floor. The boat had docked earlier, but none of the staff had made any moves to end the net just yet. Now, though, things seemed to be slowing over all.

As the last song ended, Kaden offered Serena his arm with a smile. "Now that you've been wined, dined and danced the night away, I suppose it's time to call it an evening." Or, well, they at least had to vacate the boat. Surely they could find something else to fill the time if they wanted too, though judging by the sky overhead, their hours together were winding down. On the way to the car, he paused only long enough to tip the staff, to thank them for a great night. Opening Serena's door for her, he waited until she was in to move around and slide behind the wheel. "That was surprisingly fun....given that it was a dinner cruise and I don't eat," he joked with a grin as he fired up the engine.

"Hmm, I don't know. It vanished when you did." Serena didn't mean for that to come out sad or bitter, just more matter of fact. "I suggest that if you decide to fun off to do something insane in the future, that you leave it at home." Her tone this time was playful and there was a sparkle in her eyes. "In fact, you should just make me a spare set of keys. You know, just in case." No need for another sweet car to just disappear into thin air again. It was a tragedy really, no question.

Serena had been too wrapped up in Kaden to have noticed that the evening had all but ended and somehow she seemed surprised when he offered her his arm. Wow, so she really needed to start paying more attention to her surroundings. Whoops. "I don't think we have much of a choice," she grinned as she looked around them. "I think they might throw us off if we don't leave." The poor staff probably wanted nothing more than to finish cleaning up and head home for the night.

As they made their way back to his car, she felt almost as if she was floating. Her entire body felt all warm and tingly and her grin wouldn't leave her face even after she had slipped inside and buckled in. Serena laughed as they sped off and nodded in agreement. "Well I can tell you first hand that the food was delicious, the company even better and the dancing to die for." Being back in his arms if only for a short time was pretty much the highlight of her year so far.

When they arrived back at the Towers, the pair made their way back up to the third floor arm in arm. "Thank you for tonight," she said as she turned to face him once they were in front of her door. "I haven't had that much fun in a long time." A small hand reached up and tucked her golden hair behind her ear as she beamed up at him. "I'd invite you in but I'm not sure if Alex is home." Oh and she really, really wanted to invite him in too. "So I guess this is where we say goodnight then..."

"Hmmm...." Well that was too bad, losing a gorgeous car like that. Too bad he didn't remember anything that had happened back then, didn't still touch base with any of those contacts he'd had back then, perhaps it would have been able to shine a light on where that old machine might be. It was probably in the hands of someone who definitely didn't deserve it...probably one of those bastards who'd used him to try out their "cure." Her comment about copying his car keys should he get any bright ideas this time around amused him to the point of laughter, "Oh really? You think that's a bright idea do you? I'd hate to think you were out joyriding while I nap all day." But really, if she had a car like that at her disposal, who would really blame her?

They headed to the car and settled in, time for the night to take them back to the familiar stomping grounds of the Towers. "I'm glad you had a good time," he admitted, "I was a little worried it might be a bit...much." The boat, the dancing, he'd worried it might be a bit cheesy, so he was beyond relieved to hear she'd truly enjoyed herself - he'd have to keep that in mind. Maybe next time the private boat would be called for.

Eventually the familiar site of the building they both called home came into view and Kaden pulled the car into his assigned space. He climbed out, moved around to meet Serena so that the two could make their way in together - they were neighbors, after all, it was a matter of convenience if nothing else. Heh. "My pleasure," he assured her with that overly cocky little grin of his, glancing down at her as they paused before the door to her apartment. The mention of her brother had him laughing lightly once again, "Yeah, I'm not sure I'm up to explaining why I'm not sporting one heck of a black eye like I should be. And I really don't want him testing to see how far that healing factor goes," Kade grinned.

Did he want to come in? Uh...duh, but it really didn't seem like the best time. Besides, they were most definitely going to have more dates in the future, there'd be plenty of time to go inside then. Leaning down, he closed the distance between them slowly enough to let her know what was coming, to anticipate the slow kiss he pressed to her lips. It was the perfect way to end the night, the perfect kiss.....slow but deep, not taking things too far, but leaving them both with more than enough to think about. "Goodnight," he grinned, even tossing her a playful wink before he stepped back, fished his keys from his pocket as he moved to let himself into his own place.

Goodnight, indeed.
