Week Five: Monday
Who: Maggie and Priscilla
Where: Daren's Condo
When: Monday afternoon

A week. A week exactly. Had it been that long? In one breath it felt like no time at all and in another it felt like it had been so much longer than just seven days. It was a week that had aged her and had brought a vitality that she hadn't known in years all in one fell swoop. Elation that Bastian had found his way back to them. Fear that it wouldn't last. Contentment that their family was whole. Aching guilt that there was one person she had yet to speak to... And that feeling never went away. It clouded nearly every happy moment she had just seeing Bastian seated in the same room again, conversations that she hadn't thought to ever have again...

All of it held that touch of guilt to them. She had to talk to Daren. Though what she would say? That was as much a mystery to her as the true story behind Bastian's disappearance. Honesty? That was the only approach Maggie could think to take. The only approach that had ever truly crossed her mind. She wasn't the sort to float half truths or omissions in an attempt to make things better for herself, though she would be lying if she hadn't thought to do so to spare another's feelings. It was a wasted effort though, lies to spare feelings always came back to harm two-fold.

She liked to think that the words she had spoken so many times when they first starting dating would help, but they didn't make her heart feel any less heavy with the prospect of laying it all out on the table. She cared for Daren, how could she not? But did she love him? Perhaps... but not in the way that she had always loved Bastian. And that had proved to be just as strong as it had always been. Even amidst all the questions that still begged to be answered.

Maggie knew that Daren was busy with a million bits of business this week. She knew that fact and yet some part of her had hoped that the edge to her voice in the voicemails she had left would have brought a quicker response from him. But the last thing she wanted was for him to have been distracted from the work that she knew he needed to get done. No matter how badly she felt the need to speak to him. The time was only making it harder for her, making her feel as though she were living some painful lie that ate at her day and night...

That was the reason that straight after her shift at the hospital she had punched the floor for his condo instead of her own apartment. Just to check. Just to see if by chance he'd arrived home and maybe had a few minutes to talk. She probably should have gone home and changed, left her colorful scrubs behind but she had to go now, while she didn't have to explain to Bastian where she was going. She felt she owed Daren the words before she spoke them to Bastian. Purse slung over her shoulder and her hair finally freed from the ponytail she wore while working Maggie approached his door.

The bell sounded loud. But perhaps that was just her nerves.

Was it afternoon? Little Prissy was completely unaware of it. She was too comfortable in her new bed covered in rich silks and heavy velvets to feel the need to get up and embrace the day. She was content to lounge, having breakfast brought to her by Merryweather and watching some bad morning TV shows. The little demoness had had a late night playing, it was any wonder she was awake at all. The dawn had risen by the time the little toy was shoved out of her bed and told to crawl out the door. He did, literarily, just like he was told. Poor dear was just exhausted; he couldn't have stood even if he wanted to.

She had pouted a bit for daddy being gone by the time she did wake though, but she was told he'd be back for dinner. That was enough to make her happy and slink back to her bed. A fact that Merryweather was likely a bit happy for, apparently she just couldn't seem to get out a straight sentence with Priscilla standing in the doorway naked talking rather casually. She really didn't understand so many peoples hang ups when it came to clothing. So strange. After all her daddies butler sure didn't mind.

Priscilla was curled on her side on her bed, her rich skin framed by blood red silk as she idly watched the News. Might seem strange for some to see her watching it but she liked the stories. Death here, death there, it was a game to pick and choose which ones were just sad little humans getting in over their heads and which ones were supernaturals. Sometimes you could even tell by the look to the eyes of the one caught…always made her giggle. Some supernaturals just were so careless; they didn’t play their games too well. Prissy was very careful, she knew just how to play to make sure she didn’t leave a trail.

In the background she could hear Merryweather cleaning, shuffling things about, quite possibly cleaning up some stains from that toy last night. He’d been rather messy but by the time he left he’d managed to get himself up and dressed. He had a dull little wife and dog to return home to, he couldn’t possibly go in looking so pleased…the woman would know something was wrong. After all she wanted him miserable…that’s why he was so eager to play with a girl like Prissy no matter how it could damage that precious reputation of his.

He probably wouldn’t be very happy to know that Prissy had taped the whole thing….

Another strawberry was plucked from the bowl just within her reach and sucked on as a new story started about some rapist killer that had terrorized someone or another. Still wasn’t caught, here is some poor drawing. She’d probably played with ten men that looked just like him. She rolled her eyes, popping the rest of the red fruit in her mouth when a moment later the bell sounded.

A brow arched and Priscilla quickly pushed to her feet, grabbing her short black silk robe as she went. “Oh don’t worry, I’ll get it.” Prissy purred, Merryweather nearly to the door to answer it by the time she’d made it out of her room. The other didn’t argue, she simply nodded her head and returned to whatever it was that she’d been doing before hand.

As she walked Priscilla pulled her robe on, pausing at the door to take a peek through the peephole. The one behind the door was rather pretty…the demoness had her guesses as to who it was. The little human he warned might show. She could see why her daddy was so interested…even Prissy would want to play with this one. She was innocent yes…but those were at times the most fun to play with. They were so naïve to the games…so willing to walk right into them without even realizing it.

Smirking Prissy actually tied her robe, kind woman that she was, and opened the door a bit. Peeking around the edge of it she questioned a “hello?” with a curious tip of her head in regards to the woman waiting there.

Maggie was tired and fairly certain it showed on her features. But she often thought that about herself whether or not it truly did. Then again at her age, it did get a little bit harder to bounce back from a late night here and there. It all tended to show a bit on her face, pulled at her eyes a little bit, made her mouth a little less likely to curve upwards in a smile. Getting off of a long shift at the hospital always tended to have that effect on her.

Only it now itw as easily doubled, long days at work coupled with nights that weren't as restful as she could have wished for. A few too many worries pulling at her thoughts, leaving sleep thin and patchy. Too many hours were spent watching Bastian and trying to find out what was making him ill, the words he most often used to explain why he was so tired so often. Though no matter what she did she couldn't seem to find the answer. That was something that didn't sit well with Maggie. Instead it wore at her, rubbed like the tide wore at the shoreline.

There had to be something she could do... she just hadn't found it yet.

At the moment though it was tackle one problem at a time and this was a large one. What to say to Daren, how to make this all... right again. If that were even possible. Only Maggie knew that it wasn't. Things were never simple when feelings were involved. And not just hers. That was what wore at her the most. That it wasn't just her own life that she had entangled in this relationship. It had been his, it had been Sophies... though she knew that her daughter would do nothing but rejoice over whatever Maggie would have to say to Daren.

She was waiting for Merryweather's sweet face at the other side of the door. She genuinely enjoyed the woman's company, they had shared many a recipe over the years and she made some fantastic tea. As the door started to open a smile was already being put on her face, that smile though quickly turned to a look of surprise that Maggie's ingrained manners weren't quite able to hide. At least for those first few seconds as the woman standing on the other side of the entry came fully into view.

Maggie didn't mean to but her head actually craned back a bit to check the number, to ensure that she had rung the bell at the correct condo. Just... she truly hadn't expected to see a woman in a short black robe, tousled hair and bare feet answering Daren's door. It managed to rob her of proper speech for a moment.

"I'm sorry," Maggie said immediately embarrassed that her mind had almost jumped to conclusions that she had little to back up. There was more than likely a perfectly acceptable explanation for this woman to be here.nd when it came right down to it... Did she even have room to be bothered by it? Though rationalization rarely had any effect when it came to relationships. "I didn't..." Maggie faltered for a moment, trying to pull manners from somewhere deep inside her. A smile was plastered onto her features, it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I think I should start over. Hello, I'm Maggie and I was wondering if Daren is in? I know he's probably at work but I just wanted to check on my way in."

There, that was better.

Daddy had had a talk with Priscilla recently about the going ons in his world. Living with him meant she was rather thrown into all of it and had need to know. Prissy had listened intently and confirmed that she was more then capable of playing these games. She knew they were going to get even better though...no better teacher then her Daddy. But for now she kept the ties she'd made and continued to hand over all those dark secrets that the men and woman didn't want anyone to know...to daddy. Never knew when one of those high powered sorts would come in handy.

In that little talk she'd learned all about dear little Maggie. Cute little human that made good arm candy and was oh so tentative because of that lost love. Wounded hearts were just too much fun to shake up. But he was playing nice with her, not wanting her to see the demon he was. Prissy could play human too...even if it wasn't her favorite game. But she wouldn't ruin daddys game just because this little human was so cute that she could just eat her all up....

Especially when her eyes got so very big. Priscilla was not what she expected behind that door. Prissy knew she was quite the sight and just where the human woman's mind would go. She'd counted on it. Let those thoughts run; let them slip into such dirty trains of thoughts. Not like anyone could help it when they were around Priscilla, she was part succubus after all.

Priscilla made no effort to help the other out right away. No quick offerings of who she was or what she was doing there behind the door. No she liked to watch the other flounder a bit but she managed to keep a smirk from curling her lips just yet. She just looked confused herself on just who the other was and why she was knocking on her door.

A brow arched slightly, Prissy shifted her wait in that manner that says okay I'm waiting here. She didn't tap her foot though, she just stared at the confused other all the while giggling in the back of her mind. She was pretty cute when she was completely thrown off guard by something.

“OH!” Prissy feigned excitement when the other spoke. “Maggie, sorry, Daren told me about you.” all about her. Prissy smirked just a bit then. "Look at me being all rude, come in...” oh yes please do, this was a much better game then playing who is the supernatural killer on tv. Here she had a live toy.

Priscilla moved to the side, allowing room for Maggie to step into the room and Prissy had every intention of staying quite till the other did. Curiosity always won out in the end. “Daren's gone for the day actually. I'm not certain when he plans to be back.” aww so disappointing, Prissy bit her lip slightly, letting the door closed.

“I’m Priscilla.” She offered her hand with an oh so sweet sugary smile to her lips. Prissy really did wish to play but she didn’t want to push too hard. Prissy did play with this ones daughter after all. Which had amused both Daddy and her to no end when she told him. “Daren’s sister.”

Priscilla was most certainly not what Maggie had expected to see on the other side of the door. No, she'd expected the far rounder and far more matronly Merryweather. Or even Daren's driver... most certainly not an attractive woman wearing nothing but a robe and some just out of bed hair. That did not rank... anywhere on Maggie's list of things she expected to see at Daren's door. But there she was and Maggie was having a bit of difficult rationalizing that image.

The last thing she wanted to think was that this woman had come from Darens bed. She didn't like to assume things, especially not when it came to people she cared for and trusted. But... that thought was there in the back of her mind, making her stomach knot just a bit, no matter how much she wished it away.

And it was all too tightly wound with the thought that maybe it wasn't such a horrible thing if she had been in that bed. Maybe then she wouldn't be hurting him quite so much with the words that she needed to speak to him. Where that would leave her knowing that lies had been said all along... well that wasn't something she quite knew what to think on and the whole matter was shoved back again. The exact problem with assumptions just made her mind run rampant.

Though there was little to help stop her mind at first. The look of confusion on the other womans face and her own... inability to form a proper sentence, none of that helped the situation. Only made her stomach flip over and knot up just a bit more.

Maggie's own look of confusion only deepened when the other woman spoke of knowing her. The same could not be said for maggie... Daren had not told her her about this new house guest. Maggie didn't even think to voice that thought though, far more rude than Maggie had likely ever been to anyone. "He did?" Was all that Maggie was able to say in reply at first until she managed to gather her thoughts. "Well, I hope it was all good." She managed to say in recovery, with a smile that wasn't entirely genuine. It was all a bit too confusing.

It took her a moment but she moved into the entryway now that Priscilla had stepped aside to allow her entrance. A frown inched its way over Maggie's forehead as Priscilla informed her that Daren was busy and out for the day. She'd expected it but still, it disappointed. "I thought that might be the case. But, I figured it couldn't hurt to stop by." Or could it? She was all too worried that it in fact could hurt. Even if she had no real right to be hurt in her current situation.

The introductions were finally completed and Maggie still felt like she was completely in the dark. Priscilla... the name didn't ring any bells. Should it? She honestly didn't know. Then again the straightening out of the situation wasn't all that much more settling. "Daren's sister?" Maggie couldn't help but blurt out. She immediately looked embarrassed and quickly raised a hand in apology. "I'm sorry, I just... well he'd never mentioned a sister. But then again I don't know that I ever mentioned whether or not I had any siblings. So..." Maggie offered by way of apology, a sheepish sort of smile on her face. "Did you just get into town?"

It made Priscilla want to giggle that anyone could think of her daddy as a one woman sort of man. Wasn’t it obvious that he enjoyed play? And needed a woman who wasn’t some hung up on a now half dead sort of man? She believed her daddy deserved far more then this plain jane sort of human but she wasn’t going to tell him how to play. Innocent was fun to a degree but the innocent ones could be so much work if you were looking to keep them that way. Priscilla didn’t really see the benefit to playing so nice with this one…she’d be much more fun to break into cute little whimpering pieces. Maybe daddy would let her later…when he was tired of her.

The apparent shock made it so difficult for Priscilla to deny herself that smirk. Aww it would be so easy to play up those ideas swirling about in her skull. Maybe she really should have answered the door nude. Maybe then the cute little humans eyes would have bugged right out. Or maybe she would have gained an all together different reaction. Priscilla was rather difficult for humans to deny after all. Even the most prim and proper sorts. Behaving sometimes, was just no fun at all.

“Of course he spoke of you…” Priscilla nearly cooed the words with a nearly sickly sweet smile taking over her features. “Who doesn’t speak of someone they care so much about? I’d be worried if I were you, if he didn’t speak so often of you.” If Priscilla knew the words the woman needed to speak to her daddy she’d be looking to grind in those sorts of words all the more. As it was she was simply saying what dear daddy would need to keep this…humans game going. Wouldn’t do to go scaring off his toy.

Priscilla just happened to not answer the statement of hoping it was all good. It was good alright…but probably not the sort of good that this little one was looking to hear. But maybe the way her lips twisted into a bit of a smirk was answer all in itself?

“Tricky little bugger to catch huh?” Priscilla spoke with an arch of the brow. “Always with the work, wonder he’s ever here at all.” She had just a small pout for such words. But she had every plan to start following him about in some of that work. She knew she could help him and she wanted to be helpful. Priscilla didn’t mind working and helping her father only made the task that much more pleasing.

“Oh we both aren’t the big family talker sorts.” Priscilla waved it off slightly. “We just recently sort of..hooked up again after far too many years.” Well that wasn’t all together a lie now was it? Just not the full truth. But this little human wouldn’t be able to handle that. Most couldn’t. Humans were so…bland. Their minds could be so fragile, so closed…. It made them easy prey she couldn’t deny that.

“Yep, haven’t been here long at all. Still settling in but decided to be lazy today. Everyone needs one of those sorts of days right?” of course there weren’t any boxes around or suitcases but given daddy’s helpers that wouldn’t be any surprise, they’d hide them all away if there were. Couldn’t have a messy house after all. “Looks like you could use a second or two to just be lazy. Why don’t you sit down and have a drink hmm? I’d love to know more about you and this city. It’s all rather new to me.” Maybe if they were lucky daddy would come home to join in on the fun.

Well maybe they did have something in common. Though for entirely different reasons, though that wasn't always the point. Maggie would be the first to agree that Daren did deserve someone far more devoted than she could have ever been. She had done everything she thought she could to... make certain that he knew, truly knew that her heart had never fully given up on Bastian and that it likely never would. But Maggie knew all too well that matters of the heart never managed to respond properly to words. Logic was just as useless.

It was hard not to be somewhat surprised, even if Maggie tried to have better manners than that. She was fairly certain however that any woman in America would have the same sort of look on her features if she was greeted by a young beautiful woman at the door of her boyfriends house. All issues of her own guilt aside. That said, she truly did try to dismiss it all as quickly as she could. And thankfully it was just kept at slight awkwardness. Naked door answering would have put it at a whole other level that Maggie wouldn't even know what to do with.

The rubbing of salt in wounds was easily enough done with Maggie. She'd been raised with a heavy dose of guilt that had never quite gone away. She felt all too much for the things she'd done or even not done as it were. In this particular case, it was quite possibly the worst she had ever felt... past the night she'd been shipped off and hadn't been able to tell Bastian about the baby that she held inside her. But that was long ago and not under her control... this was and she felt all the worse for it. Especially when Daren's sister began to speak of how he did talk of her and that he cared for her. All Maggie could really do was give a nod of her head with a smile placed on her features before adding a quick comment. "I wasn't too terribly worried."

"Success doesnt' come easy unfortunately, just with lots of hard work." Maggie said with a nod of her head. Of course, Maggie was certainly under the impression that his work was of a far more legitimate nature than it was most of the time. It was that work ethic and his charitable nature that had been what drew her too him at first. A facade, but Maggie had no way of knowing that or maybe she had just never wanted to see the signs. Though Daren had been quite good at keeping them from her.

Maggie's brows knitted together for a brief moment before she relaxed the gesture. Made her wonder if there were things that made talking about family difficult hidden away in his past that she'd just never known. Only things that made her worry more about what it was that she had to say to him. "Well I'm glad that you've been able to reconnect. Family is important, or at least that has always been my belief." Important but clearly not in the way that it was important to them. The things they did would break some part of Maggie, like it always did when she heard stories of abused children. Break her in a way that didn't, it was all too voluntary for them. Accepting as she was there were some things Maggie just couldn't understand.

Maggie ran a hand through some of the dark strands of her hair that fell around her shoulders. "Of course everyone needs those kind of days, when there's the chance for the luxury. Though if you value those lazy days, I might advise against kids." She added with a small laugh. Not that she didn't love Sophie more than anything but children did eat up that down time. Maggie glanced down at her watch. She didn't need to start dinner just yet but she didn't want to be too late and stir up questions she didn't care to answer just yet. "I have a few minutes before I need to head home. Don't know that I can say no after a long shift at the hospital." Maggie finally answered moving fully inside the condo that she did know rather well. She set her purse down on a lovely antique in the entry and moved farther back into the house before she realized she should be letting Priscilla pick the location. Maggie didn't live here afterall.

Human hearts were funny things. They always spoke like they were so in love with someone and then the second another came around they were taking a look. She’d seen it with so many men and woman. A wife or husband at home while they played with her. Maybe it hadn’t been that way for Maggie but that loving heart had strayed hadn’t it? It was made easy prey for her Daddy. How could he not play? Even Priscilla wanted to play with this fragile little one. It was…cute. Her daughter was far wiser to the world but that didn’t make her so jaded that she wasn’t still a fun toy. She could still be manipulated and prissy had every intention of still playing with her too. Finding out her daddy was playing with the mommy hadn’t changed that any. If anything it only made her want to play more!

What would have been the best was if Sophie was over right here and now. What would mommy dearest think then? Maybe Prissy would have to try it sometime. Too tempting really. So many games to play and sometimes there was just so little time when it came to humans. There were always more toys to play with but even Prissy had her favorites. Sophie and her group of little misfits were starting to fall into that group.

“Aww good. Means he’s been showing you good and proper how much he cares.” Good and proper meant something vastly different for prissy then it did for a human probably but she had no doubt her daddy had played that way with this one too. How did he manage to not break her? She looked so fragile. Like she’d just crumble under a harsh wind let alone a demons touch. “Glad he is, you look like a good girl for him.” Prissy flashed a sickly sweet smile. “Maybe you can remind him to take breaks from work better then I can hmm? Such a workaholic sometimes…” she tsked slightly. “Pretty faces always make it easier to stay home a little longer.”

“Of course, lots of hard work. But you know what they say about all work and no play…” she had to snicker just a bit, a light soft sort of laugh that lacked Prissy’s normal edge and yet still had that faint tug to the emotions. She couldn’t help but want to take a taste… But Prissy wasn’t really worried about her Daddy dear, not even a little bit. She knew that he made plenty of time for play. His hard work paid off but wouldn’t be worth anything at all if he didn’t get to have some fun in the midst of all of it. Then again playing people was fun. Nothing better then mixing business and pleasure.

Prissy’s lips curled into a little smile that maybe was just a bit wicked. “Oh I agree. Family is very important. We’re both rather happy to be able to reconnect like this…” family didn’t mean shit to Prissy except where her daddy was concerned. She held no love for her mother, she never had. The woman was a waste and if there were brothers or sisters out there…well she didn’t want to know or care. She liked being the spoiled only child. The favorite. There was no need to feel sad for little Prissy. She was quite happy with how things were in her life right now. Family, play, money…what was there to be upset about?

Again a laugh “Think I got a while before kids are ever going to be in the picture. Bit too much of a free spirit for that yet.” Of course she was young still, not in human terms but in demons. Prissy didn’t have any desire to put some little squirmy thing above her own wants and desires. No that wasn’t in her future, she made sure of that. “Good, that’s what I wanted to hear.” Prissy padded into the main living area. A plush couch greeted her as she sunk into it, curling her legs under her, apparently having no problem at all with her state of dress. So few did. Merryweather was quick to come in then, saying hello and bringing a drink for both. But Prissy spared no time getting straight to the questions. “So how long have you lived here? Any interesting tid bits I should know about my dear brother? Haven’t had much time to catch up yet…” a lie if there ever was one.

Strayed... such a harsh word, though it didn't lack truth. Was there any other way to speak to the reality of the situation. She'd always held part of her heart locked away, the part that always had loved Bastian. Held that hope that he would return. It had taken years for the loneliness and that seed of vulnerability to become strong enough for anyone else to manage to take ahold of any other part of her heart. But it was just in her nature to love, to care for others that were close to her.

Through it all though, as became so plainly clear the minute Bastian returned, that part of her heart had always remained for him and him alone. Filling a hole that no one else could.

Maggie shifted a bit awkwardly under the amount of... praise that worked its way through Priscilla's speech. She hadn't ever been the sort to take a compliment without pushing it aside and moving onto some other topic. But this was well... Maggie just didn't know what to say other than it certainly had the effect of making her feel slightly uncomfortable but not at the same time. That was the confusing part. "Oh, I don't know that I'm that." Maggie immediately said in response to her being a good girl for him. Certainly not at this moment in time. Quite the opposite. Her hand came to rest on the front of her uniform for a moment. "Though I have been lucky for the time we've spent together. Workaholic and all." She smiled good-naturedly in return. She understood the need to work and had never been the sort to complain over too many hours spent behind a desk. "Just have to make certain he relaxes every now and again." Maggie said with a nod of her head. All work and no play just burned a person out.

Not exactly the sort of play that the other woman was referring to but that was probably for the best all things considered.

The smile that Priscilla gave was... slightly disconcerting. Maggie quickly brushed it off though, she didn't know the other woman and that was truly all that could be said on the matter. Or at least that was what Maggie told herself. "Are you staying in town long? Making the move to Seattle permanent?" Maggie asked, her mind instantly drawn to the thought of Bastian's sister. She'd been gone so long and she could only imagine what it would be like if she suddenly returned.

Maggie's face softened slightly as the conversation moved to a topic that was all too close to her heart. "I'm sure you do, young as you are," Maggie began completely ignorant to the fact that Priscilla was in fact older than she was. "But it's nice to be young when you have a little one. Well younger rather than older. Just for the pure amount of energy needed to keep up after them." Maggie added with a laugh of her own. Not as young as she had been, not that she'd take that back for all the money in the world.

Maggie took a seat of her own in the living room. She opted for one of the well appointed chairs, a bit too aware of the others... dress to lounge right on the couch next to her. Maggie was perhaps a bit prudish at times. Most of the time probably. She greeted Merryweather with a warm smile, asking her how her day had gone and if she had tried the latest recipe that they'd swapped. The usual. The tea she brought for Maggie was perfect, as always. "Oh, well I've been here all my life. Born and raised. In Seattle that is. The towers though, that was a more recent move. I'm down a few floors." She took a sip of the tea, blowing slightly over the top first. She arched her brows slightly as she looked over the top of the mug. "Interesting tid-bits? Other than the fact that he's all too charming and knows it but somehow manages to get away with it? I don't know. " She said with a smile.

Compliments, some woman ate them up and others never quiet knew what to make of them. Priscilla of course intended to…butter her up a bit. She was daddy’s toy after all and she didn’t want to break her. It was sort of cute to watch her squirm, the way she got uncomfortable by the speech but never told her to stop. That would be rude wasn’t it? Much as she might not be used to it Prissy was a firm believer that all woman wanted to hear words like them. Even if they didn’t know what to do with them. “And why not?” Prissy quickly countered, arching a brow as she looked over at the other. She knew that this little human wasn’t. But she was the woman for him for his games…that counted right? In a way.

“Oh I bet. I’m sure she’s taken time off for you though right?” Yes of course he had. Time out of that busy schedule to play with his pretty little doll. Don’t want them getting dusty and forgotten up there on a shell. “Sounds like you get his work schedule if nothing else right? Busy busy bees. Makes me glad I didn’t get those same traits.” She mused with a grin. No Prissy wasn’t the work work work sort. Then again her work wasn’t really work it was play…so maybe she was a workaholic in a way that wouldn’t be the humans definition of it. “Not a problem on that though, I’ll just nag him till he listens. That’s what sisters are for…” she snickered just a bit.

That wicked little smile of hers was so easy to forget when another so sweet one graced her lips. It washed away that slight…questioning that might arise for just why she was grinning like that. Prissy was rather tempted to scare this little human away but she was just as tempted to tug on her strings and see how she could make her dance. Daddy couldn’t really get mad at her for wanting to tug on this ones emotions a bit could he? For being the charming, luring, little thing that she was. “Haven’t really decided yet. But the more I’m here the more I think I plan to stick around. Have a lot of catching up to do with Daren.” So long as her daddy was here, she’d be here. Prissy normally didn’t stay in any one city long but Seattle had a few too many opportunities to just walk away from all of them. There was still a lot of fun to have here. Still when the other continued Prissy smirked. “Oh I’m sure I’ll have plenty of energy later to keep up with any little rugrats. I’ve always been a bit…energetic.” Now wasn’t that an understatement.

Prissy wasn’t surprised when the other sat away from her, prim and proper on her side while Prissy quiet obviously had no shame in her body or the way she was dressed. Why should she? The other might not admit it but Prissy doubted that she really minded looking. Even those uptight sorts could enjoy a nice sight when it was offered. “A new move hmm? How do you like them so far, haven’t had a chance to get to know the neighbors yet.” Besides that ghost down the hall. Sure she couldn’t see her but she could feel it…and the fact that things started floating around was sort of a clue there. Made her want to watch a ghost putting on a show for a human. They had to get so easily spooked.

“I think that’s a trait most anyone could tell.” She teased with a laugh “Charming men rarely try to hide that they are. Have to say I rather like guys like that though..you too huh? Always with the sweet tongues. Makes a girl feel rather special.” And such charms came in handy.

The instant the words were out of Maggie's mouth she regretted them. Not for their lack of truth or anything like that. At this moment in time Maggie most certainly did not think she was a good thing for Daren. Not when she had never been able to give him all of her heart like someone ought to when they were in a relationship. Nor was she any better now when she was just waiting for his head to poke round again so she could break the news to him that the one who did hold the rest of her heart had returned. That most certainly did not make her good for Daren. But did she want to explain this to his sister? No. Certainly not before she'd spoken to Daren himself.

"Oh, I think at times I'm just as busy as he is. Between work and my daughter. I'm not sure I'm a better influence on his workaholic nature." Maggie said by way of explanation. Which was true, just not what she had truly meant. A detail she didn't care to get involved in at the moment though.

A hand flew up to rest on Maggie's chest as she laughed. "Oh he does, no need to worry. I know I've been to more fancy dinners and gala's in the past year or so then I've been to in my entire life." Maggie assured her with a nod of her head. Of course, the number of gala's and the like that she'd been to before Daren was zero so it wasn't a hard status to achieve. Maggie's head tilted to the side in curiosity. "So you don't plan to be in an office more hours than you're at home? I can't say that's a bad idea on your part." She agreed with a nod of her head. Not that she prescribed to it but with a family like Daren's, she probably had that luxury.

The slight unease that Maggie had felt at Priscilla's... look seemed to just dissipate as the conversation continued. As fast as it came on, it was gone and the other woman was simply smiling and Maggie thought she had a very welcome smile. A trait she shared with her brother. "Well that's good to hear. I'm glad you're liking it here so far, it really is a lovely city once you get past the fact that it can be a little on the gray side of things." Maggie replied with a soft smile of her own.

"Mmmhmm.." Maggie murmured in response as she took a sip of her tea, always just the right amount of sugar and milk. Merryweather always had that special touch. And focusing on the drink did keep her from feeling slightly out of sorts that Priscilla really didn't mind that she was in a state of undress. Just not something Maggie would do, but to each their own. Maggie had always lived by that little golden rule. "I do like it. Honestly though it's the first apartment I've ever lived in. Always been a house before so it's taking some time to get used to but it's nice." Really wasn't the same as living in a neighborhood where everyone knew each other and went to potlucks. But it was more affordable and so she had grown to appreciate the towers for what it did have. Quirks and all.

Maggie's face crinkled a bit with her smile. "He is rather obvious with the charm isn't he." No denying that fact, not when it came to Daren. "Well it's not the worst trait in the world," Maggie said her face still smiling. "but it's not why I dated him for all this time. All the charm in the world can't make a person good. And with all his charities and the work he does... that's far more important." Hope Priscilla had fun with that statement of Daren's personality.

“Well then…maybe I’ll just have to work to make sure both of you learn to pause and have some fun. There is far too much to do in life to spend so many hours working. Work work work.” Priscilla made a slight face and shook her head. “Way more fun things to be doing…” she could think of a whole list of them. “Breaks are needed just as much as work.” Continued with a confirming nod of her head. She had no worry about her father and his breaks but this little human. She wouldn’t mind helping the mother just as much as she helped the daughter. They were both so pretty…

“Those fancy parties, sometimes I think those are more work then fun.” All dressed up in their suits and ties. Some really needed to let loose and have some fun. But that’s often when Priscilla found her easiest targets. Busy busy men looking for a night away from it all. Priscilla didn’t mind indulging them in all those ideas of play they didn’t get to normally have. Helpful little thing that she was.

“Oh I’ve never been good with that whole hard work office sort of thing. Think I get distracted a bit too easily for that. But I always manage to make due. I’m sure I’ll find something here in Seattle that works out for me.” She already had of course. Her daddy wouldn’t want her working any other sorts of jobs she was more then able to simply lay about in the throws of luxury and enjoy. But Priscilla did prefer to do some work…especially if it helped her father out.

“I don’t mind the grey much actually, makes you appreciate everything else a bit more hmm?” she remarked, shifting slightly to get more comfortable, all but lounging on the couch. She did always love to show off her assets, especially to those that normally would never ever take a look at someone like her in that way. It was fun to watch them think to turn away, or to glance down, only to have their eyes fall right back on her.

“The first one? I’ve lived in plenty though I do have to say that the towers so far is to the top of my list. Of course it has a hot owner so sort of difficult to not be a little biased.” She spoke with a cute little laugh that some might call innocent but with Prissy nothing really seemed as innocent as it might appear. The vampire really was some good eye candy though, yum. But she was soo not even going there. He was way old and out of Prissy’s league. She kept to those she knew she could really play with. Was all important to keep in mind in the work.

“All his good deeds? Boy is too modest then, hasn’t told me about all this charitable work of his. Doesn’t surprise me though, he’s always been a sweetheart. Looking out for others…trying so very hard to help.” She managed to even say it all with a straight face. But wasn’t that what their work was when you got down to it? Helping others that needed help, making deals to keep their nasty little secrets hidden? They might not do it out of the kindness of their hearts but it was a..helping hand of sorts.

Just not in the way this naïve little human thought. So utterly cute. “It’s no wonder you’re so eager to see him, good men are so hard to find these days.” But maybe she was biased hmm? The smirk to her lips maybe said so but she did think her daddy quiet the catch. One that always got what he wanted in the end. “If I hear from him before you get ahold of him I’ll make sure to let him know his cute little girlfriend is looking for him.”

"Oh we both manage a few moments here and there." Maggie assured her with a wave of her hand. "Just fewer and farther between as you get older," She clarified with a bit of a laugh. Well at least for her. But then again Daren didn't have to scrap by to make ends meet and he certainly wasn't worried about that whole faithful thing. That really freed up the time for fun.

Maggie couldn't entirely disagree with Priscilla's sentiments when it came to the glitzy nights out. far more work to get all put together and hold that smile on your face all night, rather than just have a nice quiet evening at home. "You have a point there but they are.. maybe a necessary evil. At least when you live a life like your brother." That was something Maggie had accepted and was more than willing to help with considering all that he'd done for her. "But then again there are people that enjoy that just like there are people that enjoy regular old work. Different sorts everywhere." Maggie said with a nod of her head. While she didn't try and judge somehow the idea that Priscilla wasn't a fan of hard work seemed to fit all too well with the way she was lounging in her robe on the sofa. It all seemed to fit.

"That it does. A sunny day is all that much more beautiful. At least that's the way I've always liked to see it. But I've lived here all my life so I might be a bit biased." She did love the area there was no denying that, Maggie couldn't imagine living anywhere else. She nodded her head. "Yes, I know seems a bit odd now that I say it. But I've been lucky enough to just move from house to house." And only two houses at that. She knew that she was lucky for that. Maggie's eyes widened a bit at the comment about the owner. He seemed a very nice man, Maggie just often failed to look at whether someone was attractive or not.

Maggie's smile wasn't entirely reach her eyes as she looked over at Priscilla. "Good men are hard to find," she said in agreement, there was more than a kernel of truth in that statement unfortunately. Of course the truth was general and not the reason Maggie was quite so urgent to see Daren now. She hated what she did next, a glance down at her watch that always donned her wrist. It was far past the time she should be home and at the moment Maggie didn't exactly want to field the questions that could come from that. "I'm so sorry Priscilla. I hate to be rude like this but I really should get back to my place. I just meant to make a quick stop by after work." Maggie pushed up to her feet and smoothed out her scrubs. "I'm sure I'll see you around again." Maybe, who knew after the conversation she needed to have with Priscilla's brother.

“Well that’s not right, older doesn’t mean less play you know. Or it shouldn’t.” if that was the case then Prissy was glad that she was young, by demon standards at least. But she was fairly certain that no matter the years that she gained she was always going to be as she was now. Play always did rank high with demons after all and that didn’t seem to be in line to change. Her father was proof that it had no need to be. He worked, he played, and he did well in life. Gave Prissy something to aspire too. Of course she was already on her way long before she met Daren.

“Especially with him. I’m sure I’ll be dragged along to one or two such gatherings.” So long as she promised to behave in that pesky roll of hers. She didn’t really mind though, she found the act amusing and she did love to toe the lines a bit just to see reactions. So long as she didn’t ruin any of his games she figured that she was in the clear. Plus who could really stay mad at her anyways? Certainly not her daddy.

“Oh, true enough I suppose.” She bemused lazily, leaning back and propping her feet on the arm of the couch. Always a showy sort but it did give some point to her words now didn’t it? No hard work, that labor intensive sort of stuff that humans found themselves in…that wasn’t for Prissy. It wasn’t that she couldn’t do it, far from it. But she preferred to get her hands dirty in other ways.

“First time for everything then huh? Looks like it’s turned out, keeping you close…” which was why Prissy was certain that’s exactly why the little human was here in the towers rather then in her once house. Dear daddy seemed the sort that liked his toys close. Prissy was that way at times…and other wanted those pesky little things away from her. Otherwise they started to follow her around like puppies.

The energy the other was putting off did make Prissy arch her brow just slightly. So nervous. So guilty. Priscilla would of course relay the information to her father. But for now she just pretended like that smile convinced her and smiled all too warmly back. “Have to snag them up once you find them…” she returned, flashing a grin. But she wasn’t surprised when the other jumped up, such a pretty little girl to get home to…even if Prissy’s guess was that dear Sophie wasn’t there. Rebellious teen that she was.

“Oh, its quiet alright…matters to see to I’m sure…” Prissy languidly got to her feet, walking with the other to the door. “I’m sure you will” and not just because of daddy dearest. But Prissy just smiled and gave a wave. “Have a good night Maggie. Till next time…” such common words but with Priscilla, with that smile, they seemed to hold a darker edge. Before it could make the woman’s skin crawl too much though the door was shut and Priscilla was snickering. That human was just too cute.
