| Harry Potter fandom help |

I was wondering if anyone might be willing to help improve the Harry Potter category or the Harry Potter article on Fan History? Both have, at times, a tendency to focus, to their detriment, on the negative things going on in the fandom. It would be really nice to see them improved to include more positives that the Harry Potter fandom has done such as charity events, helping out other fans going through hard times, etc. Besides fixing them to improve the focus, other parts could use some help. Most of the articles about Harry Potter LiveJournal communities are pretty stub like. The pages about Harry Potter characters and Harry Potter pairings don't really reflect how fandom reacted in those communities to new canon release and movie news. Any help in improving anything in the Harry Potter section would be very much appreciated, even if it is only to fix grammatical mistakes. :)
Fan History is also looking to improve articles in the Harry Potter fans directory. (Page takes a while to load because it is so big.) It currently has articles about 110,557 members of the fandom. Most of them are pretty simple without much information as they were created by FanFictionNetBot. Getting some of the expanded would be awesome as you can really tell a fandom's history through its individual members. |

Here's a random discussion topic for you: Is lycanthropy hereditary in Harry Potter? A friend and I started wondering about this when working on a RPG. My argument was that being a werewolf was a magical condition, not something viral that can be passed down. I used Teddy as an example. Now, it's possible that the metamorphmagus ability overrode it, but I don't think he would have been in any danger of being born a werewolf. What do you think? |

Character I'm looking for: Katie Bell-Weasley - my newly wed wife! The Link takes you to existing game-history information for Katie
Game to Join: Fiery Inception This game is compliant with the events of Halfblood Prince, but began its timeline three years after the events of that book, so it is completely AU to Deathly Hallows.
Our Katie Mun has just recently left the game, just when all our plots were ramping up. We'd like to fill the character as soon as possible to keep the momentum going. Katie's existing game history and various plots are summarised here. Since I play Charlie, a lot of the decision for application-acceptance will rest with me. Ideally, a potential Katie would read through that game history stuff and then contact me so we can make sure our characters and future-plot-plan ideas are compatible.
I'll be unavailable for a very few days right now, which will give a potential applicant plenty of time to read through the pertinent game links. The game has been in-play for two years and has a very intricate history, so having enough time to look things over will be important.
There are lots of plots in the works, both personal things between Katie and Charlie as well as broader, world-wide things that would affect Katie. All the Weasley family except Bill are cast and actively run, as well as Harry, Ron, Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, all three Malfoys and many other active, creative players. A Katie Mun would never want for anything to do or anyone to play with.

I am so, so, so sorry that I've allowed this community to fall into decay! I created this community nearly four years ago, but I wandered back to LiveJournal. However, I am BACK. And this time I'm staying. Honest.
The userinfo has been updated and the layout has been changed, it's no longer that ugly black and white thing I had going where you couldn't even see the dates.
I've dedicated myself to making this community much more active and a fun place for all of us Harry Potter fans. ;) |

I finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Sunday morning. I liked parts of it, but was dissapointed in the way she killed people off. I didn't care for the last chapter either. |
