Introduction to harry_mwpp
Welcome to [info]harry_mwpp, a community for stories, art, and other content that focuses on interaction between Harry Potter and one or more of the Marauders (Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, and James Potter). Our hope is that by combining these pairings (which often have overlaps), we can create a community of sufficient size to flourish in HP fandom on IJ.

For full information and posting guidelines, please see the userinfo. Here are the highlights:

  • Members may post fic, art, vids, recs, icons, and searches within these pairings, or with threesomes or moresomes that include one of these pairings. For posting creative work, use the posting template in the userinfo.

  • Slash and gen are both allowed, as long as the interaction between Harry and one (or more) of the Marauders is central to the work. (If your on-topic fic or art contains het, that's fine too. The important thing is that the Harry/Marauder relationship is central to the work.)

  • Cross-posted works and postings of old works are permitted. (For now, even encouraged! We need some start-up content.)

  • Posts promoting communities, archives, or RPGs that are on-topic for [info]harry_mwpp should be submitted to the moderators for consideration.

Our posting template contains an experimental field -- Canon compliancy. This should provide a convenient place to put information that is usually tucked into the notes. Here are some sample values that you might put in this field:
  • Up to book 3
  • Up to GoF (movie)
  • Series backstory only
  • Splits off before the battle in DH
  • Loose
We hope that this will provide a useful addition to the header information.

Read! Post! Enjoy!

Your mods,

[info]helkamaria & [info]gatewaygirl

I love the canon-compliancy field for the headers! That makes so much sense. "Closed canon, endless possibilities," they say, but now that the books are done, I am much more comfortable picking and choosing my jumping off point into my own branch-universe...

Thanks you! It was [info]gatewaygirl's idea.

I have to say that now that canon is closed, I'm eagerly waiting for AU fics.

I ahve a question. I have just posted an old Remus/Harry fic of mine and when it came to the tags , I tried to put in

author: ladyremus; characters: harry/remus, type: fic

It accepted all but the author tags. Is there a reason for this?

Thanks

I believe that's because only mods are allowed to create tags, and since you are a new author in this community, the tag for you hasn't been created yet. [info]gatewaygirl is in charge of tagging and memorying this month, and she'll get to it as soon as she can.

I would add the tag myself, except that I see that your author name and your IJ name aren't the same. Gg and I haven't talked about what to do in this kind of situation, and I'll have to contact her about it.

I'm sorry.

Well, I created two different IJs- one for personal stuff ([info]krystal_moon and one for my fan fic [info]lady_remus) so it's up to you which one you use :-)

Sorry for creating tags when Im not allowed. I did look at the rules and I didnt see anything about tags and since I saw tags created already with other posts, I though it'd be okay

Sorry :-(

There's no reason for you to be sorry. It's actually good that you brought this up, because this is obviously something we hadn't thought of. If anyone is at fault, it's us.

Situation is now resolved. Your post is tagged with author: krystal_moon, and you can use that tag in the future.

I wanted to use the name of the account that is a member of the community. If you would prefer lady_remus, why not post as that account? It might be less confusing to readers.

New Community to consider promoting

I have just started a community for fans of both Sirry and Remarry (and for threesomes with Remus/Harry/Sirius) and I wanted to see if you would be willing to promote it since it is fairly closely related to the MWPP and Harry theme that you have going on here. sirry_remarry is the username for the group and I'll be adding content this weekend.

I will make a post promoting it.

Could we also link to it in our profile?

Thank you and yes please link to the community. I really hope to get other people to post their stories other than just archiving my own work. I'm going to come up with a challenge as well to kick things off.

Yeah, that's the hurdle, isn't it? :-)

So far I've gotten people to join, but I'm still the only one posting entries. Hopefully someone else will post or I'll get discouraged pretty quick. Any suggestions to entice people to post and not just join (not that I don't like having members as well...)

I don't know. So far all but one of the posts here are mine. :-) I think we need to be patient.

You could cross-post here, which will help us, but not you. I'll have something I can post in your community in a while, but I have nothing ready now.

I'm new to this, really.

I know I have to be patient. Eventually I'll get someone to put their work up. I'll probably post something on your group as well since I've got so many slash pieces to post.
