Week 21: Thursday
Who: Titania and Vinnie
Where: Vinnie's room
When: After classes
What: Guitar Hero battle!

As always, Titania rushed out of her last class. Really starting to love how she placed herself in the last row. Not even trying to do it on purpose – until lately. She said he hellos and goodbyes to the little rugrat in her room, leaving the whole school completely for a few quick moments. In the taxi, she called the closest Chinese place, giving an order, hoping Vinnie would like the surprise, and hope he’ll actually eat what she brought with her. It took the 15 minute drive to get to the place that the woman on the phone said the food would take. She quickly paid, grabbed the food, and rushed off toward the taxi to get back to the school.

Shou greeted her like always when she came rushing into the room, grabbing the leash, as well as the dog, putting the food down quickly to get the little pup ready for a new adventure. Titania’s emotions were running amuck. She kept thinking, would Vinnie like Shou?, would Shou be good and not misbehave?, and would he like the food! She kept trying to shake the anxious feeling off. But this always seemed to happen whenever she was meeting with someone new. She even tried to dress nice. Nothing too out there that might have the weird looks casted her way.

But what really kind of bothered her was – would she be able to survive the little trip up toward the boy’s level? Titania kept looking toward the stairs, watching if anyone was really looking, before taking two steps at a time, keeping her hand against Shou’s mouth to keep her from saying anything. One little bark could get them into trouble.

The adrenalin rush was almost causing her to giggle out loud! This would be the second time she snuck her way to some place that was off limits. She knew other students did it, so, why couldn’t she?

Titania took a deep breath, looking about the hall, coming to a complete stop in front of the door she hoped was Vinnie’s. The bag of food was placed upon her one wrist that held the dog. And before she could knock, Shou let out a loud bark. That made her stiffen, as if a ghost was behind her. Did anyone hear that? She quickly swept the hall, looking up and down, and once she thought she was okay, the breath she held was let out. Now she could make a soft knock on the door. Though, the little rat probably gave themselves away.

After Supernatural Races class, Vinnie headed straight back to his room. He had been excited for the Guitar Hero battle all day. It had been a while since he actually played against someone. Last time when he was gonna teach Jillian they really hadn’t done much playing. Kinda got preoccupied with other stuff. Heh. And Frankie didn’t really count either seeing as he basically creamed her every single time they played. This instance was different. Titania was probably a worthy opponent, but that was left to be seen.

There was really nothing for him to set up seeing as he played so often that he just always left it ready to play. Picking up a guitar, he turned on his 360 and loaded up the game. He even played a few songs to warm up before he stopped and put the guitar back down on the empty bed in his room.

Hopefully Titania would be able to get up to the guys’ floor without a problem. Frankie and Jillian had so it was definitely possible. He’d feel bad if he got her in trouble without even meeting her in person yet. That’d be a bad way to start off a new friendship.

Vinnie had been sitting at his computer when he heard a bark out in the hallway immediately followed by a knock. Yep, that definitely had to be Titania with her dog. Getting up from his desk chair, he crossed the room and opened up the door. “Hey, come on in,” he smiled, gesturing the petite girl and her dog in. Once they were inside, he closed the door and followed them in. “Anyone see you out there?”

If Titania would have known he cheated by practicing, well, he would hear an earful from her (playfully of course). Been awhile since she actually picked up one of those guitar controllers, and actually played a successful game. Hopefully tonight she didn't make herself out like a fool. Maybe it would be wise to say something, but knowing her, she wouldn't say a word because of how embarrassed she might feel afterward.

Surprisingly Shou's loud bark didn't alarm anymore. Guess the boys on this level were extremely lazy or didn't really care. Let's up it was the didn't care part. Titania wouldn't have minded meeting a new face when it popped out of the room. But the only problem she really would have is if they would be polite to her or treat her like a piece of meat.

She was looking back and forth, up and down the hall, before the door opened. Causing the girl to jump back a bit, but quickly collect herself and smile like nothing happened at all. She even let out a light nervous laugh as she entered the room. Right away looking the place over, since it was a new environment - plus she has never been in a boy's bedroom before. "I'm amazed no one did," she replied then, turning to look at Vinne with a bright smile.

The puppy in her arms was anxious to be free and inspect the place as well. Maybe a little too excited, with the barking consuming once again. Titania was cooing softly to the dog, trying to calm her down before placing her down, a little nervous laugh leaving her throat again as she watched Shou investigate Vinnie, then the rest of the room.

And before getting herself comfortable, the bag of food finally made itself known within her hand, causing an audible gasp before a laugh took over. "I hope you didn't eat! I ran out and got a lot of chinese." That was when she remembered if he liked chinese or not. Her face contorted in slight shame before she asked, "do you like chinese?"

Playing a warm-up song or two wasn’t cheating. Well, at least it wasn’t cheating in Vinnie’s book. He would gladly give her a song or two to warm-up if she wanted. It wasn’t like he was all about getting an unfair advantage. He and Frankie usually did the whole warm-up thing before they went head to head so he saw it as normal.

The guys on the floor were a combination of lazy and not caring. None of them seemed to be sticklers for following the school rules exactly as they were laid out. It felt like absolutely none of them followed the whole ‘no one of the opposite sex on the floor’ rule. Seeing girls on the guys’ floor was completely normal and he was sure that the opposite was true.

Smiling warmly, he watched as Titania put her dog down on the floor. “Yeah, the guys on the floor are pretty laid back. Doubt they’d say anything if they saw you. I really don’t think anyone cares about following that rule anyway.” He chuckled softly and crouched down when Shou started sniffing him. “Hey there little one,” he said as he rubbed her head behind her ears. “What kind of dog is she?”

“I haven’t actually. You read my mind.” He chuckled as he crossed over to the empty desk and pulled the chair over for her to sit on if she wanted. “Who doesn’t like Chinese food? It’s the best! Well, maybe second best.. Italian’s gotta be first.” His mama would likely slap him upside the head if he said anything but Italian was the number 1 best food. Not that he didn’t think that way, of course. How can you ever go wrong with lasagna or ziti or chicken carbonara? Mm.. and now he was starting to miss home cooking. Damn. "What kinda stuff ya got there?"

“Do you need to warm-up before we start playing or are you all good to go?” See? He was being good. There was no use in competing if someone was gonna have an unfair advantage. Then it wouldn’t be fun at all. Nah, he was gonna do this right.

Titania wanted to allow her eyes to roam about the room once again, but all her attention was on her dog, watching Shou be good. Though, it was hard keeping herself still, her head shifting up and away from the two, glancing about once again with awe, and curiosity.

Hearing Vinnie speak to her instantly had her head snapping back to his direction. All she could do about the guys' was nod, and give a little smile. But when it came to her dog, well, hopefully his ear wouldn't fall off after she was done chattering it up. "She is a little chihuahua! I found her in the local pet store. The only one of her brother and sisters that was black and white." She took a pause to smile brightly, watching Shou doing her little trot around the room. "There was something about her. Like, she was the perfect friend for me. If that makes any sense.." The words trailed off. Let's sound a little crazier, Titania.

The bag full of food didn't look all that huge when she first placed down upon the edge of the desk. She had to look up to him, hoping this was an okay spot to place it, since it was the first flat surface her dark eyes found. And as she pulled out two of the little Chinese containers, a soft snort of a laugh escaped because of what Vinnie said, so, she had to reply with, "if only I could read minds. That might be a better gift than the curse I have now." To quickly change the subject, and before he could say anything, Titania pointed toward to the two containers she pulled out. "That one has chicken fried rice. This one has..." Okay, maybe she didn't know everything. She had to bring it up to her nose to sniff it. "Ah! It has shrimp... Don't know what else.." Best to put that one done and get the other four out. Should she stand here and explain everything, when deep down, she only remembered two things she ordered.

The best thing to do was hold up the one container she knew. "This holds beef and string beans. It came with a little thing of white rice." Titania nodded, frowning at the rest of what she had resting there. "Guess the rest is a surprise, " she added on.

Well now, it looks like Vinnie was reading her thoughts this time! A bright smile wiped that embarrassing frown away, showing how bright and happy her features could instantly become; like different masks were always set in place. "Now you're reading my thoughts," she replied. "A warm-up would be lovely. I really haven't played since I got here." All her attention was on the X-Box. Instantly wanting to hug it and worship every part of it!

But she was being good. Looking like a crazy girl would be wrong for a first impression.

Vinnie chuckled softly as he watched the little Chihuahua trot around. "It makes sense. She seems like a cool little dog." It didn't sound crazy to him at all. Even though the only pet he ever had was a hamster, he got how dogs were like little people that became part of your family. His ex-girlfriend Miranda had the coolest Jack Russell named Oliver that Vinnie used to love playing around with and he remembered how upset her entire family had been when the dog ran away. Luckily, one of their neighbors found Toby a few days after he had gone missing. It seriously was like getting reunited with family.

There was absolutely no problem with her putting the bag of food on his desk. He wasn’t one of those neat freak or OCD kinda people. So what if it left an oil stain or whatever.. he could always clean it up later. “Ooh chicken fried rice and shrimp.. can’t go wrong with those.” Walking over to her, he picked up one of the unknown containers and opened it up. “Guess it’s a good thing I don’t mind surprises.” He looked in the container and give it a sniff. “Chow mein, maybe?”

“Big coincidence, I promise. That’s not part of my powers.” He chuckled at the thought of it, not that it was a far fetched power. Jillian could read minds. Maybe she had transferred some of that over to him. Nah.. was that even possible? He had been able to see and hear into her own mind, but that was because she made it happen. So yeah, coincidence was more like it. “Have at it. I’ll just sit over here and have some chicken fried rice.” Grinning goofily, he sat down next to the containers as he began to fork some rice out and into his mouth.

This was the first time Titania ever took care of an animal herself. With her mother despising any creature that came in contact with her or her daughter. Mostly her, but she didn't want to make herself look like she hated her baby girl in public. Can we get an eye roll please? A hamster would have been cool to have! She would stare at the little thing for hours, watching it go through the plastic tunnels you could get for it, and even the ball you can put them in. Maybe in the future. Maybe. But for now, Shou was the best thing she ever thought of getting.

Thank god she didn't sound crazy after what he said. It made her smile like a dork, do a little shrug thing, and go back to getting out whatever food she brought along with her. When he asked if it was chow mein, she leaned in to sniff it. Her nose wrinkled at the smell, which was a good sign. "Yeah, that's what it is. I haven't had chow mein in a long time."

"You only do things with fire, right?" Titania asked then, while making her way toward the X-box and guitar controller. She did pause with what she was doing to look over at him, her expression showing curiosity and hope that what she asked was right, before going back to setting up her own character and get herself ready to start on easy.

Okay. Right now, at this exact moment. There was a faint blush creeping along her pale cheeks. She was nervous! Not because she didn't remember how to play.... Well, she somewhat forgot how to do it. But once she knew the buttons well again, she'd be able to hard in a matter of seconds. The fact that she was working easy already made her feel a little stupid. Hopefully nothing small in the room burst into the flames. Titania was trying her best to control how nervous and embarrassed she was feeling.
