Week Eighteen: Thursday
Who: Cissy and Simon
When: Thursday Night around 11
Where: Simon's room

Being covert was not exactly Cissy's forte as she had never had to be sneaky in her entire life. If she wanted to do something, wrong or otherwise, she simply did it and there was never anyone to tell her no. Here, that was a different story. She wasn't supposed to be out and about this late. She wasn't supposed to be in the boys dormitory. She certainly wasn't supposed to be in Simon's room, but boredom and curiosity had triggered this little venture and she was going to see it through until she either made it there or she got caught and sent back to her room.

Deciding to wear her bedroom shoes because they were more quiet than anything else she owned, Cissy stole into the dark, into the night, to venture into territory that was forbidden to her. There was a close call or two, a wandering student in the halls that may or may not have told on her, but the fact that he was in the same house, at the very least, made it much easier for her to find her way to his room than it would have otherwise.

At last, the door was before her, and while it may have been safe to assume that the door would be locked and she would have to knock before she could enter, something told her to try the knob first and she found it to be conveniently unlocked. Pushing the door open, she slipped inside and closed it behind her just as quickly before eyes stole a look around the room and found him laying upon his bed. "I told you that I'd eventually get tired of it." There was no more introduction given than that before, pajama clad, she made her way over to have a seat on the side of his bed.

It was pretty late at night, at least according to Simon's biological clock. He was one of those 'early to bed, early to rise' kind of kids. But he'd been trying to work on that. Honestly, what kins of teenager who lived away from his parents went to bed early? Ridiculous. Jesse, a younger student in the Fire house, was sometimes seen wandering the halls after eleven. Simon felt pretty lame being two years older than the kid and in bed two hours earlier.

At the moment he was laying on his bed, all comfy and clad in flannel sleep pants and a faded grey t-shirt. He was reading a book. Well, reading was a bit generous- he was staring at words on a page and feeling his eyes droop.

He was just about to put the book down when his bedroom door started opening. A hundred different thoughts raced through his mind. Maybe it was a murderer coming to kill him. Maybe some guy needed to borrow a razor or something. Maybe someone was sleep walking and thought this was their room. Maybe it was Sydni, retaliating for his coming to her room last week. Maybe it was a guide telling him his mom had died. Or worse, that she had escaped from the looney bin.

What he did not expect was to find Cissy walking in, smiling a sweet and devilish smile. "I told you that I'd eventually get tired of it," she said before seating herself on his bed. For a minute he could only stare at her. Many words passed through his head- words like "wow" and "sexy" and "holy crap" and "wow" and "there's a girl on my bed" and the like. He scooted over so she could have some space, not that she needed much. She was a very slight girl. And she was on his bed. Suddenly he wasn't tired anymore at all.

"Wow," he said to her, modestly scoping out her pj's. "I didn't know you delivered."

His reaction was a bit expected and a bit unexpected. The expected bit was the look on his face, of course, the utter shock followed by the look of sheer awe. The unexpected part were his words which followed what was pretty much a given, him checking out her attire. She laughed out loud as he spoke, having not anticipated that sort of response at all, and then shook her head softly. "You never asked." There was a slight pause before she added, "But now you know."

Him scooting over a bit was take as open invitation, and she scooted a bit more further onto his bed, having the audacity to even lay back, on her side, facing towards him after her eyes had scoped out the room once more. "Your room is very tidy. I expected that." Her own was much the same, a place for everything and everything in its place. The only time it ever really got messy was when she couldn't decide what to wear.

Focusing her gaze on her feet, she slid her slippers off using the opposite foot to assist her in doing so, then kicked them off the side of the bed. Her attention then moved back up to him, her hand reaching out shortly thereafter to take his book from him. "What are you reading?" She asked, finding the answer for herself as she glanced at the title. "Hmm.. that's a little heavy for bedtime reading material, don't you think?" She smirked a little as she leaned up and over top of him, placing the book down on the nightstand on the opposite side of the bed from where she lay, the ends of her hair brushing against him as she did so.

"So do you sleep on the left side or the right side of the bed?" Cissy asked as she settled herself back down behind him, resting her cheek upon folded hands, her blue eyes peering at him, a slight bit of mischief dancing within. "Or are you one of those people that sleep in the middle?"

As a matter of fact, his room was tidy. His dirty clothes were tossed into the hamper by the closet, his clean clothes hung up according to genre- short sleeves together, long sleeves, pants, shorts, jackets, etc. His bookshelf, though scare of books, was well organized. His floor had just been swept that morning, and his schoolbooks were stacked on his desk, homework completed. Simon had heard somewhere that a tidy living space was the sign of a sick mind. Well, that was debatable, but tidiness kept him happy and if that was sick, so be it.

His choice in bedtime reading was indeed heavy- it was in fact the Bible. He had just been reading Deuteronomy, a particularly boring and long-winded Old Testament dedicated to the teachings of Moses. If Cissy knew the bible any, she'd know that this particular book instructed the chosen people how to live their lives... with about 500 billion strict rules. But Simon had forgotten his place in the book, or any of what he'd just read. Cissy leaned over him and the smell of her hair wafted past his nose. He smiled a little. Why did girls always have to smell so good? Everythi about her was just right- her smile, all devious and sweet; her hair, spilling over his bedsheets like a silky blonde waterfall; her smooth skin, the color of freshly washed peaches. He even liked the small butterfly that graced the inside of her left ankle. Simon wasn't really one for tattoos, but this one was so innocent and sweet. It almost painted Cissy in a new light.

When Cissy inquired about which side of the bed he preferred, Simon's face first drained of all color and then turned into the brightest strawberry red anyone had ever seen. "Uh..." he stammered, debating whether or not to tell her the truth. Well, he might as well. "The right," he told her honestly, "because... my mother always slept on the left." His eyes darted to anywhere but at Cissy's face. "You see, she was kind of... um... She was sick. In the head, you know. Mentally." He paused. "She thought I was the devil. Because I can bend fire, you know. So." Was this too much info? Well, no point in stoppig now. He at least had to explain sleeping in the same bed with his mom. "When I hit puberty... God, I can't even believe I'm telling you this. I've never told anyone." And with good cause. It was mortifying. He took a deep breath. "She used to make me sleep in her bed so I wouldn't masterbate." There, it was out now. His shoulders slumped as he waited for Cissy to inevitably hop up from the bed and walk out the door, never coming back into his freaky-weird life.

Her room was just as neat and tidy as his so maybe it was an indication of crazy. She was certainly not the picture of perfect mental health. She was a beautiful girl with more body and self esteem issues than she knew what to do with. She felt, deep down, being perfectly honest with herself, that she had never been loved, would never be loved, and didn't deserve to be. She wasn't good enough for it. She had done too many bad and wicked things, had hurt too many innocent people, and lacked perfection required to really be loved. At least that was what she thought. But perhaps, eventually, in the right circumstances and with the right people, she would change her mind.

Cissy was quite familiar with the bible, believe it or not. She came from a very religious family, her father's side anyway, and even if she could not go into a church, could never be baptized or saved or christened or whatever the case may be, she believed in God, she had a definite sense of spirituality, even if her life did not always reflect it. So yes, she was familiar with the book and familiar with its teachings though clearly she took none of it to heart. The book was hundreds of years old. Times had changed. She had to theorize that God had also changed.

A brow arched slightly when he answered her question with an answer that only left her with more questions. He wasn't reluctant to explain, well, at least not reluctant enough to leave her without explanation, and she had to say that the answer was quite shocking. "Wow." She said, and paused for a moment to think about what she said next. "First of all, your mother sounds even more crazy than my own which I didn't think was possible so.. kudos. I'm right there with you in the crazy mother club. And second.." This was the part where it got a little touchy. "Have you never... I mean.. ever? Not even since you've been here?" She arched a brow slightly as she asked the question, genuine curiosity painting her features.

"And we should trade places then.." Since he was on the left side at present. "Because I fully intend on spending the night."

Simon was a shy boy, but he was not one afraid to love someone. If living with a crazy woman had taught him anything, it was that love couldn't be hidden. After all, his mother had done everythig for him out of love. A sick, twisted version of it, but love all the same. If Cissy was a lucky girl, and Simon did eventually fall for her, she would be convinced as to how worthy a creature she surely was.

Cissy's assurance that her mother was just as nutty made Simon feel better about his own situation. He did not know what went on at Cissy's house, but if your mother making you sleep in your bed wasn't terrible strange to Cissy, then Simon figured her home life must be far stranger than he could imagine.

When she asked about his personal habits, he blushed again and bit his lip. "Um, well... I thought about it once, but all I could imagine was my mom laying in the dark next to me, watching. It was super creepy. So...no." It was a pretty sad existence and he knew it. He'd had wet dreams before, and erections and all the stuff that came with being a teenager, but self-satisfaction was one rite of passage he'd missed out on.

Cissy informed him she was spending the night. His jaw dropped. "I, uh, oh, um..." he spluttered, not sure what to say. Was 'no' an option? Did he want it to be? They could get into so much trouble. She was older than him, too old some people said. They had barely even kissed, yet she was going to sleep with him? His heart leapt into his throat. Oh god, what if she wanted to... sleep with him? But there she was, all comfortable and settled and... well, beautiful. Her body was warm and soft and thinking about it was making him the opposite of soft, so he decided to stop thinking about it so much. "Okay," he said casually, though his voice cracked. He rolled onto his side, hoping to make his growing, ah, 'interest', less apparent.

Every version of love that Cissy had ever known was slightly twisted. There was Xander who couldn't keep it in his pants, who slept with every woman that gave him the time of day, who was a demon and was incapable of actually loving anyone. There was Lucas who had promised her the world, had told her that he loved her, that she was beautiful, who was old enough to be her father, and who had dropped her on her ass when Frankie had discovered them. And then there was the example set by her parents. They were so different. They couldn't even live in the same house together, the same country even, and yet they were so in love, or so they said, even though her mother seemed completely incapable of anything even remotely similar to love. Good examples had not been set, and the damage that her mother had done to her was quite extensive though probably not irreparable.

Her home life did not consist of her mother sleeping in the same bed with her, but she did weigh her on a regular basis, measure everything that Cissy ate when she was with her, do calculations of her body fat from time to time. She pushed and pushed and pushed and nothing was ever good enough though that seemed a little bit better compared to what Simon must have gone through. Nonetheless, she wanted to make him feel better, to ensure that he knew that it wasn't really all that bad to be strange. Everyone was damaged in their own way.

"Really?" She asked, making a slight face. "That would be creepy." She said, and inhaled a soft breath before she shook her head. "It's a shame though. You're really missing out. I mean.. masturbation can be better than actually having sex most of the time." Strange subject to broach when they hardly knew one another, but it really was sad. She couldn't imagine being his age and never having touched herself, never having experienced what it was like to have the big "O". But then again, Cissy had been sexualized far too young by most people's standards.

A slow smile spread out upon her features as he finally answered and moved onto his side. "Are you sure you're okay with that?" She asked him, arching a brow slightly. "I'm not going to sleep with you, as in have sex, just.. so you know." Because he seemed slightly scared about that. "I just..." A small frown formed upon her lips. "I really hate sleeping alone." She replaced the smile upon her face. "Besides, I think it would be an excellent opportunity for us to get to know one another better." End of story.

"So should we trade places now?" She asked, pushing herself up into a seated position. "You could just.. scoot this way a little and I could climb over."

It did feel strange to be talking about something so personal with someone he barely knew. But so far, from his experience at Halcyon Halls, this is just how people were. Everyone was candid and uncensored and rough. Maybe it was how the rest of the world was outside Cullman, Alabama.

"I can't imagine... playing alone is better than playing with a friend." They were being open, but he couldn't quite bring himself to use the proper terms. Not yet. "I've talked about it with my friends back home, but it was mostly them saying about times they'd almost gotten caught. I think I'd die of embarassment."

He couldn't get his mouth to form the words 'Yes, spend the night here', so he just nodded wordlessly and scooted over, hoping Cissy would not mind a chubby accidentally poking her.

The world was kind of like that. Candid, uncensored, and rough. She was certain it was probably the same in Cullman, Alabama as well, but he was probably kept from the sorts that would have clued him in on the ways of the world. He adjusted well, however. That is to say that so far, he had handled Cissy fairly decently. If he could tolerate her, the rest of the world would be no problem seeing as how she was probably quite the exaggerated version thereof.

"Maybe that's only because you haven't tried it." She suggested with the brow of her slightly perked, her blue eyes glistening with a slight bit of mischief. How scandalous was this, after all? In bed with an underage boy cluing him in on the joys of masturbation? She was quite proud of herself for this. "Imagine getting caught actually having sex with someone." She suggested with a small laugh. "That's pretty much the entire reason why I ended up here." She smiled softly. "Good for you though, huh?" She never would have met him otherwise.

Cissy moved onto her knees, putting one on the other side of him to climb over which left her straddling him. She may not have really noticed his, uh, issue, but it wasn't like she was exactly shy about the way that her own curves pressed against him. There may have been a certain degree of intent there.

She couldn't keep the smile from tugging at her supple lips as she paused, allowing the weight of her lower body to come to rest atop of him, and leaned down to press her upper body against the length of him, the ends of her hair once again brushing against him as she whispered in his ear, "Maybe after tonight, when you think about the left side of your bed, you'll see me laying there instead." She nipped lightly as his ear and then pulled away a bit, ghosting her lips along the line of his jaw as she brought them to hover just a few inches from his own, near enough that the heat of her breath, and oh could it be quite warm, could be felt against his lips.

Looking back, she reached down to take hold of both of his hands, bringing them up and placing them upon her waist, just above the curvature of her hips. She looked back at him once more, her gaze as intense as it had ever been, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "So are you going to kiss me, Simon?"

Oh, good lord. Just the mere idea of his mother catching him having sex was enough to make his manhood shrivel up and die. Which may have been a defense mechanism, because if Adrianne had ever caught her son in bed with someone, she would have cut his balls off.

As Cissy climbed over him, Simon found it hard to breathe. Not because she was heavy, certainly, but because in dreams you never had to breathe and this seemed too much like a dream. For God's sake, what the hell could a girl like Cissy see in in him? She was so glamorous and sophisticated and, frankly, gorgeous. She could ride on top of the world and do anything she cared. She could have any man she chose. So why would she choose him?

He gasped sharply as she nipped his ear, his breath leaving him while her mouth traced his chin. All he could do was lay there stiffly. She was so... intense. His heart was racing, and he was pretty sure Cissy could feel the vibrations of its thumping. As Cissy grabbed his hands, it seemed the spell over him broke. Her soft touch, smooth skin on her waist made him realize- there was a girl laying on top of him, and if he didn't do something about it she would think he was a total tool and leave.

She asked if he was going to iss her. he thought about it for a minute. "No," he said, expecting the surprised look that graced her face. He slid his hands up her waist, grabbing her shoulders and gently pulling her toward him. He nestled his cheek against her shoulder, his lips close to her delicate ear. God she smelled nice. "I don't want you to know when I'm going to kiss you until right when it happens," he whispered.

He pulled away so he could look at her, still very much aware she was on top of him and it was getting very warm (in the good way) but tyring to act nonchalant about it. You know, as if he conversed with girls while they were on top of him in their pajamas every day. "So tell me why you're at Halcyon," he inquired, genuinely interested.

Cissy was looking for something, something very specific. And even if he wasn't someone who would normally catch her eye, wasn't really her type, she had high hopes that what she was looking for could be found in someone just like him. It certainly never had been in the men she normally found herself involved with. It was the fact that he was quite different from what she could have that attracted her to him in the first place. Their first "date" had pretty much sold her on him, or at least on finding out more about him.

If he was expecting a surprised look, he certainly got one. For a moment, she actually thought that there was the possibility that he didn't want to kiss her, that maybe he didn't really like her that way. But his hands moving to her shoulders and pulling her close eased her mind of those thoughts, and she smiled a little, though his words really brought the smile fully to her lips. And this was exactly why she liked him. He wasn't like the other men she had known. And she knew that, given enough time, she could mean something more to him than just someone to stick his dick in which was all she felt like she had ever been to anyone else. And that was the specific thing that she was looking for. She wanted to mean something to someone. She wanted to be important.

A small frown pursed her lips as she thought about the question for a moment. "Hmm.. that's kind of a complicated question. There's a lot of different parts." She paused, waiting to see if he was going to stop her from talking since maybe he wasn't really all that interested. When he didn't, she shifted her body a little, bit, settling herself on top of him, getting comfortable, before she began. "There's the incident that brought me here. That would be the first part. Uhm.. basically my mother caught me and a man that was supposed to be my teacher in a very.. uhm.. intimate way. So she blackmailed me under threat of telling my father and then told him anyway after I got here." She rolled her eyes a little and then continued, "Then there's the reason why I need to be here. I need to be here because.. I don't really know how to control any of the things that I'm supposed to be able to. I can't control the fire and I can't control the ice and.. when I get emotional, unbalanced, things get a little out of hand. And it's dangerous, ya know? It's something that I really need to learn." And at least she could admit that to herself, to him, even if she never really talked about it to anyone else.

"Then there's the third part to the answer which would be the reason why I'm staying." And this was probably the most difficult part of the answer to give, one that she would skip over with anyone else who asked but she felt that she should be honest with him since he had been honest with her. "There are a lot of reasons that I could give, a lot of things I could tell myself to rationalize it. I could say it's because I want to learn or because there are certain people here that I don't wanna leave, because my cousins are here, but that's not really it. The truth is that, as much as I say that I love New York, I'm exhausted of it. It's so big and so fast and it's constantly moving and I've been trying so hard to keep up ever since I was thirteen and..." She closed her eyes for a moment, trying not to let herself get upset because thinking about it, thinking about the truth behind it, did that. "It's a very bad place for a girl to grow up with parents that are never around."

"And the people I know there, they've.. well it's like they expect me to be a certain way, they expect me to be this person that.. that I just don't want to be anymore because... it's very empty and it's very lonely being her and it always will be and I don't.. I don't want to feel empty or be alone anymore and even though no one really likes me here and I feel completely out of place and mostly uncomfortable, it's better than being there, feeling like I'm drowning."

And she was finally done. She laughed a little as a hand moved up to wipe a single tear from her cheek. "That was probably more of an answer than what you bargained for, huh?" She resisted the urge to say that she was sorry. She wouldn't apologize for being open and honest for perhaps the first time since she arrived here about her reasons for staying, even if he decided that she was far too much of a mess, far too complicated, for him to care to involve himself with.

Simon was a very good listener. He didn't ask a question unless he really wnated an answer, and he when he got the answer he made sure to pay attention to it. After all, sometimes someone just needed you to listen to them, and that was the best gift you could ever give.

It was obvious that Cissy was a broken girl. The things she'd been through... He'd wanted to ask who had initiated the relationship with the older man, him or her, but it seemed inappropriate. And from the way she spoke of it, more than likely it was the teacher. A man she probably trusted. Someone she'd probably felt safe with and gave herself to simply because he asked, even if she hadn't wanted to. Simon really hoped this wasn't the case, that there had been some love involved.

Places like New York City had fascinated and scared Simon ever since he was young. How could someone live in a place where you were no one, where you could go to the same coffee shop every day and even after a decade the people serving you didn't know your name? It was too cold and impersonal for him. And after she told him that her parents were never around... how lonely could a soul get before it just died?

"That was the answer you gave me," he told her gently. "So that's the one I wanted." He smiled at her tear, having seen her all wrong. He, too, had been so sure she was confident and strong and didn't need anyone to get by. But seeing her here now, so simple and small, it made him feel a lot less afraid. She was human, after all. In a manner of speaking.

"I know what it's like to be drowning," he told her, tucking her hair behind her ears. "To suffocate in your own shortcomings. Only my mom was too overbearing. Like she was the one holding me under the water, whereas your mom just left you out to sea." He shivered a little- there was some truth in the 'mother holding him under water' metaphor, but he didn't want to get into that at the moment. Instead, he leaned up and kissed the top of her head, right where her hairline met her forehead.

Broken was one way of putting it. She rarely ever showed that side of her, however. Most people only saw the cool and confident parts of her. Most people, like what Simon had thought before, thought that she was so together and so strong when really she was neither of those things. But if there was one thing that living in New York City taught you, it was how to be a good actor. She could fool most anyone when she wanted to.

His response made her smile a little, feeling a little less embarrassed by her sudden outpouring of the inner most thoughts she kept mostly to herself. Sure, she told Xander a few things, but she never told him some things. There were plenty of things that she kept from him, things she didn't want to give him because she had already given him so much.

"Yeah..." She smiled at the kiss upon her head. "She did. And I know. I mean.. I can see it." She shrugged a little. "I guess that's part of the reason why I'm here right now, because I know that you understand." He understood when everyone else would just think that she was complaining.

"I'm gonna... roll over here..." She said, shifting her weight to move off of top of him though she moved a hand down to clutch his shirt in order to keep some part of him close as she reached the other one over and flipped the light switch, the room going to darkness aside from the light of the waning moon that filtered in through the blinds. "And light's off. Better?" She asked, her hand then moving to reach for him, slipping around his waist as she urged him to turn to face her.

"Hold me?" She asked, capturing her lower lip with her teeth and tugging upon it slightly. "But I don't wanna go to sleep yet. I wanna talk. I wanna get to know you better. We should like.. do the question game. You know, take turns asking?" She explained. "You already asked one so I get to go now." She grinned, pondering the question for a moment. "What do you.. wanna do with your life? Like what are your ambitions? What kind of career do you want? What do you foresee in the future as far as like.. a family goes? Where do you wanna be in five years? Ten years? Which yeah, that sounds like more than one question, but it's really only one. Everything else is just.. to clarify what I'm looking for in an answer." She laughed softly.

Cissy had a way, no matter how she was acting, of making Simon feel special. He didn't feel like he was doing anything special- just listening- but her eyes were saying how grateful she was and how wonderful he seemed to be. He couldn't help but feel a bit bashful about it. This must be what having a girlfriend was like. Not that he considered her his girlfriend. After all, they'd only just met, and maybe she didn't like him as much as it seemed... He stopped. Why was he justifying his statement in his own head? It wasn't like Cissy could hear him. But did this mean she was his girlfriend? It was both exciting and disappointing. He liked Cissy, absolutely, but... there was still Jillian. And although she probably didn't even think about Simon at all, and Cissy was right here and beautiful and willing to be with him, he couldn't shake the memory of the girl with dark hair and porcelin skin.

It was Cissy rolling off of him that snapped him back to attention. The room snapped into darkness and Simon giggled. A sleepover! With a girl! How fantastic. "Hold me?" Cissy inquired, tugging him toward her and biting his lip. He happily obliged, wrapping his arms around her tiny waist and resting his chin on top of her head. He'd once had a stuffed koala named Scruffles when he was a kid, but this girl was by far more fun to snuggle with than Scruffles had ever been.

Cissy wanted to know about his future. He had never really thought of it before. There had been usual stuff as a kid- aspirations of being an asrtonaut, a football player, a cowboy. But nothing really serious. He'd always figured he could think about this kind of thing in college. But then again, he'd never get to go to college. Adrianne wouldn't have let him. "An electrician," he finally said, his voice breaking the darkness. "A kind of job where I get to use my hands, roll up my sleeves and do a hard days' work. It's practical- people will never stop using electricity- and I can come home knowing I've done some good."

Oh lord, she'd asked about family. It was a concept no seventeen year old really wanted to think about. "I don't know if I ever want to have a family," he told her honestly. I don't think I want kids, and that wouldn't be fair to my wife, I guess." He bit his lip, debating if he should say more. Of course he should. She'd asked him a billion questions. "My dad left when I was really little," he confessed. "And the scouts from Halcyon said I probably got my abilities from him. So... I dunno if I want to pass that trait onto my kids. It was hard for me growing up... although my mom was kind of... not well." He didn't want to say nuts, which would have been the truth, or batshit insane, which would have been more apt. "But even if I raised him okay, other people don't understand stuff like that. And what if it got to be too much for me?" he closed his eyes against the darkness. "What if walking out on your kids is an inherited trait, too?"

If Cissy had known that he had feelings for someone else, in particular someone else who was also involved with Xander, she would have been incredibly hurt and completely devastated though she would have done all she could not to show it and would have simply gone back to behaving with him the way she behaved with every other man she met. But she didn't know it, and it was good that she didn't know it. She had to trust him in order for him to be able to get to know her so it was better not to wreck it, intentionally or not.

And no, for the record, she wasn't his girlfriend, at least not yet. They may or may not get to that eventually.

The holding was nice. She had wanted that for so long now, to just be held by someone, but it never worked out that way. With Xander, it always turned into sex, and with Starbuck, there was no real affection involved. They didn't really know one another well enough, for one, and for two, the feelings weren't like that between them in the least. There was no interest there on either of their behalves. With Simon, there seemed to be, and he seemed to be perfectly content in just holding her. There was a certain degree of comfort that came with knowing that he wasn't ready to take things too far. She wasn't really ready either.

"An electrician?" She asked, tilting her head up to glance at him. "That's not something you hear every day." Most people aspired to be something much more exciting, but then again, if there was no one in the world that wanted to do the dull jobs, then how would they ever get done. She smiled though, adjusting her face against his chest once more. "I like that. Like, you know, the idea of a man that wants to work, that would like to come home to me all tired and in need of some TLC." She paused as she thought about it. "I could totally do that." And really, that was all that she wanted to do with her life, take care of someone, matter enough to someone that they would allow her to take care of them.

His fears didn't seem at all irrational, and even though the circumstances were different, they mirrored her own. "I can understand that. It's like.. my mother.. What if I would be just as bad as she is?" And her father, as much as she loved him, was admittedly no better. He didn't know how to care for a child, how to offer supervision and structure. Those had never been his strong suits and he was more of a "give them roots and wings" sort of person and it didn't really quite work out that way.

This conversation was getting kinda heavy for their very first sleepover, not that she was complaining, but she didn't want it to end up being far too much too soon. "So now it's your turn to ask me something." That seemed like a good way to segue into a new topic.

Simon was not a dumb boy, not by any means. So naturally he knew that his mouth should stay clamped in regards to the whole 'Jillian' thing. Most girls were very sensitive about things like that, and Cissy was here in need of kindness and the last thing he would want to do would be to hurt her.

Like Cissy, he'd never laid in bed before and just held someone. He differed from her in that he'd never been in bed with a member of the opposite sex before. And no, he was certainly not counting his mom. It was very nice. Comfortable, but just exciting enough. He wasn't ready for sex at all, and was grateful it wasn't even in Cissy's mind.

"I know a lot of people want to be a doctor or an actor or something big like that, but let's be realistic. I couldn't stand hurting people, so doctor's out. I panic in front of people, so no acting. The idea of going into space is too scary, so no astronaut for me. The worst that can happen as an electrician is I get electrocuted, but if I do my work right I won't be working with live wires at all. Nice, simple, safe."

He didn't know what to say about her becoming her mother, because he didn't know her mother and he also didn't know Cissy all that well, so it was a possibility she could be like her mother when she got older. But it was obvious Cissy didn't want to hear that, so he didn't say anything. Instead, he thought about his question for her.

"Do you think you could ever marry someone for money?" he asked finally. "Like, for a billion dollars. Tax free. But the catch is you have to be married to them for at least five years, and if you cheat on them the deal is off. Would you do it, or would you need love?"

Sex was something that Cissy could get pretty much anywhere. This, however, was not. So no, sleeping with him wasn't really in her mind. It wasn't that she hadn't thought about it, that she didn't find the idea of it appealing, but, truth be told, she needed someone to not sleep with her, at least not right away. If her worth became equated with sex, that would be the end of anything that could mean something real.

"I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just not common. And hey! At least it's something." She said, laughing a little as she rolled her eyes at herself. "I don't really wanna do anything. Like.. I dunno.. I guess I just.. Well I'd rather just be the person that takes care of the person that works hard because they would deserve it and I think I'd be really good at it, especially since, well, as much Hell as I give some girls about it, I really love to cook." She laughed.

As for her mother, no, she didn't want to talk about it. And he didn't know her mother at all nor did he know her well enough to say, just as she didn't know him well enough to tell him that he would never be like his father. Anything was possible, and she was glad the subject was left alone.

"No. Absolutely not." The answer came quickly. She didn't even have to think about it. "Money.. I have money. I've always had money. And it doesn't buy happiness at all." She was adamant when it came to that. "I would have to be in love. I want to fall madly and passionately in love. And I would only wanna marry someone that I would never wanna have to live without." She gave a small shrug of her shoulders. "In my opinion, that's the way that it should be."

And now it was her turn again. She was having a hard time thinking of anything. So she went with something that she fancied herself as knowing a lot about. "What's your favorite song? Like, if you had to pick one."

"Every man loves a woman who can cook," he assured her. "And I'm sure every woman loves a man who can cook too. But unfortunately I can't cook so I better find me a gourmet chef, cuz I like food. A lot." He smiled. "Maybe that's what you could do. As a career, you know? Be a chef." He could just imagine Cissy as a head chef, ordering her helpers about and tossing spices into giant pots, all while wearing a cute white coat and tall hat. She'd be adorable.

In all honesty, Simon hadn't given marriage that much thought. It would be ideal to find someone you loved completely and couldn't imagine your life without, but how often would that actually happen to people? He figured most marriages were a case of 'I love you right now, and I'll stick with it because I said so', not the meeting of two souls who are eternally bound by perfect harmony. He wished it would happen, but wasn't expecting it. "I think it's important not to compromise on stuff like that," he said after a moment. "If you want nothing but the best in a marriage, you should have nothing less. I mean, you should only do it once, right?"

Hrm, his favorite song. That was a toughie. Did she want his actual favorite, or the one he thought best represented him? Or both? "That's a hard one," he told her. "I guess my favorite just to listen to is probably 'Helena' by My Chemical Romance. Mostly because my mom thought it was devil music, so I had to listen to it in secret." He giggled. "Sometimes...ah, that woman."

Ok, so now it was his turn. He wanted it to be a good one. "Have you ever been in love?"

"Mmm.. like my papa. He can cook." Cissy said, and then arched a brow slightly at the suggestion. "I hadn't really ever thought about that." She had so many issues with food that being around it all the time might really freak her out, to be honest. But now that he had brought it up... "It would be nice to at least maybe go to culinary school, see if I even have what it takes to do something like that." And yes, the jacket and the hat was cute. And she wouldn't mind bossing people around and being in control. It took a lot of time and a lot of hard work to get to that point though. She did know that much.

"I think you should only do it once, yes." Her papa loved her mother and, no matter what, they made it work, and why? Because they were crazy about one another, in spite of her mother's obvious personality flaws. She did believe in love. She believed that eventually, some day, she would find someone that she would feel that strongly about. Maybe it wouldn't happen right away when she first met the person, maybe it was something that eventually grew on you, either way, she just knew that one day she would feel that for someone who actually felt it in return.

"I've never listened to much My Chemical Romance." She was more into Classic Rock, oddly enough. Most would never expect it to look at her. That wasn't to say she couldn't shake her ass with the best of them to some Hip Hop in a club, but she didn't prefer it, not by a long shot.

The question was... not one she really wanted to answer. She tensed a little, a small breath taken before she exhaled and shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno. I.. well I've thought that I was in love before but..." That was certainly a touchy subject, especially where Xander and Lucas was concerned. "I can say that I have never been in love with anyone that was in love with me." And that was honest. That was as honest an answer as she could give.

And for her turn, "Do you like it here?" And to be more specific, "If yes, why? What are the things that you like the most? And if no, why not? What are the things you like the least?"

Ooh, I hit a touchy subject, he thought to himself when Cissy answered his question. It was so obvious by the way her voice changed, by the way her body tensed. She gave a short, concise and seemingly accurate answer. And he didn't dare push for more.

"Hmm... do I like it here?" He hugged her tightly for a moment. "Well, back home I slept in a bed with my mom. I wasn't allowed to leave my house the last few months I lived there, and my mom thought I was the devil. No joke. She used to dunk me under water to try and wash the demon from me." He shuddered at the memory. "But here I have friends... older lady friends, I might add. I'm learning that I'm not a freak, that people can do what I do and it's okay. I live on my own, I do what I want, I can grow as a person, and there is a beautiful..." he paused, swallowed, "...sexy woman in my bed beside me. Yeah, I think I like it here just fine." His heart started racing beneath Cissy's ear. He reached up and touched her chin, drawing her face toward his. His fingers trembled slightly against her skin. His breath brushed her cheek, coming out in short, nervous bursts. In the dark he brought his mouth close to hers, missing on the first try and brushing his lips on her cheek. On the second try he got it right, his mouth hesitantly pressed on hers. "I know you know how beautiful you are," he whispered against her lips, "but I just wanted to say it again."

She was glad that he didn't push it. Most people would have, more than likely, and, in response to that, she would have more than likely closed herself off from him.

Maybe she asked the question that she asked just to get a response like the one that he gave her out of him. But if she had, it wasn't really a conscious effort. She couldn't claim to be displeased by it, well, not by most of it. It did upset her to hear about the things that he had gone through prior to coming here. And it also made her very glad that she had reached out to him when he first arrived. She wanted to make his life better, and she was glad to know that she had, or that she was working on it.

When his pulse began to race, she felt it, and she knew what was coming, or at least she had a good suspicion of it. Now Cissy had kissed a lot of boys, and a lot of boys had kissed her, but this was different somehow, maybe because she already liked him more than she had ever liked most of the boys that had kissed her. So her own heart started to race as well as his hand moved down to tilt her face toward him. He was so nervous. She could feel it in his touch, see it on his face. She smiled. That was one of the things she found most endearing about him.

The first kiss missed, which nearly made her laugh, but she managed to keep that from happening, his lips finally finding hers. She allowed him to keep the kiss light, a hand moving up to rest upon his shoulder. "I could never get tired of hearing it." She whispered in response, a slow smile spreading out over her lips. "You're not too bad to look at either, Simon." She leaned in to brush her lips lightly against his own. "You have a beautiful smile." She added, then titled her head up a bit more to touch his nose with her own. "And I really like your nose." A strange thing to be attracted to, perhaps, but she had always liked people's imperfections.

If he could glow in the dark, he would have. Embarassment seeps up from deep inside you and pushed out high in the cheekbones. Thank God for the darkness. He smiled into her mouth. "Cissy, you... you're too nice." He wrinkled his nose at her touch. "You're too... everything. You are everything wonderful about anything." He knew she was going to respond, either with a coy giggle or a protestation, so he prevented it by kissing her again. Only this time, it wasn't so shy. It wasn't as sweet or tender, either. It was hungry and something like desperate. He kissed her like she was oxygen and he was drowning.

His hands cupped her head, his fingers burying themselves into her fine hair. His kiss was hard, but it didn't go further than that. He wanted to touch her, to feel her and hold her as close as humanly possible, but he didn't want to push his boundaries. There was no sense rushing into things when there was so much scenery to absorb along the way.

Simon's breath was quick in Cissy's mouth. Tentatively, but certainly not with less passion, his tongue probed itself against her lips. He was new at this, so who knew where tongues went and when and why. But instinct took over, and his mind began to cloud and instead of overthinking like he usually did, Simon just let himself feel it. And she felt perfect in his arms.

Cissy could nearly feel the heat in his cheeks, but she didn't say anything about it, she just smiled a little bit more if that was even possible. Of course, it was her turn for her cheeks to get a little bit red, the heat flushing her skin. And she was about to respond, about to say something along the lines of him being so very wrong, but she didn't have the chance to do that. Before she knew it, his lips were upon hers, and this kiss was much different than the first.

Her own hand moved from his shoulder up to rest upon the side of his neck, fingers tangling in his hair as her body pressed against his own and a soft moan vibrated against his lips. There was something simply enthralling about the fact that he had never done this before. She liked the idea of being first and furthermore, she liked the idea of being his first.

"Natural talent." Cissy whispered once she pulled away, taking a hurried breath against his lips. Her hand slid down to his shoulder once more as another kiss was pressed to his lips, followed by another, and then a third one that left their tongues tangling once again. She slid her foot up and over his own, smooth skin against smooth skin as she whimpered softly into the kiss.

It was starting to get a little hot, and not just the room of the temperature, but also the temperature of her skin. She had to break the kiss once more so that she could breathe, her fingers moving up to trace the line of his jaw as a smile graced her lips, her blue eyes peering into his own. She was trying to think of something to say, something that wasn't going to sound stupid but nothing was coming to mind. So she kinda giggled, and then she nuzzled her face against his neck, pressing a soft kiss against his skin there.

You ever have a moment where your mind sort of goes blank, and you can't seem to form complete sentences because your endorphins are just too high? Simon was going into sensory overload, so all he could think to say was "I just...wow."

As Cissy nuzzled his neck, he remembered that it was his turn to ask a question. "Why did you decide to come into my bedroom?" he asked. "You could've waited until you saw me in the halls to tell me you wanted me to ask you out again. So, why'd you come here?"

His response was enough to make her laugh a little, pressing into him even more then, her arms holding him to her tightly as another soft kiss was pressed against his neck. She had this feeling, this funny feeling, deep down in the pit of her stomach. It was like something was alive in there, fluttering all about. It was a good feeling, and one that she certainly wanted to feel more of.

She had pretty much forgotten they were even playing a game until he asked the question. "Oh! Right. Uhm..." She paused, her brow furrowing slightly. "Well, to be perfectly honest, I was kinda like maybe you didn't really like me that much. And I guess I just thought that... that if I came here to see you, then maybe it would help in making you like me again." She laughed because it was silly but honest.

Since it was her turn, she pulled away a little bit, peering up at him with those blue eyes of hers that could be so playful, so sparkling, but could also be so sad at times, so full of worry. And now they were laced with concern as her lips pursed into a bit of a frown. "You do like me, don't you? Like really?" The frown grew a little. "I know I'm older than you are and it doesn't make sense that I like you, or it wouldn't make any sense to other people, and that, if you've even talked about me to your friends, they're probably very much against the idea but... What do you think? How do you feel about it? About me?"

He purred when she kissed his neck. "Mmm," he hummed. Her mouth rocked. When she told him about her reasons for coming to his room, however, he snapped out of his comfy serenity. Then she started going on about her worries, and it broke his heart a little bit. "You think I don't like you?" he asked, surprised. "I haven't been cold to you, have I? I'm just not used to this, and really shy, I didn't mean to make you think I didn't..." Oh, this is terrible. What a mess he made.

"The reason I didn't ask you out again was... well, I was going to. I swear I was." He sighed. "I was gonna take you to Heaven and Hell, get a fake id and everything. But I couldn't figure out how, and then they closed the club for the week and now it's closed for good and I was gonna check it out with Sydni first so I wouldn't look like a total loser who didn't know anything on our date. But then you got upset I hadn't asked yet, and nothing went well at all." He shrugged, defeated.

"But to answer your question- yeah, I like you. And you are too old for me, and I only have one friend, Sydni, but she's cautioned me a few times about this. But it doesn't matter. I'm actually really shocked you picked me. I mean, look at you, Cissy. You could have anybody you wanted and you pick me?" He looked down to her. "That doesn't make any sense to me."

"No, you haven't been." Cissy said, shaking her head softly. "It's just... I mean I know you aren't used to this but neither am I. I mean.. Well yeah, I'm used to the whole people being interested and me showing that I am interested in return thing but.." How did she explain it so that it made sense? "I'm just used to being... pursued a little more. I'm not used to being the one doing the pursuing."

She knew that was the plan he had! When Vinnie mentioned the fake id, she just knew it. And now he had confirmed it. But aww, the look on his face was so sad. "But we're here, right? I mean, maybe things didn't go exactly to plan but... You can still ask me, and I will still say yes. And I don't care if you have never been before. I'd rather your first time be with me."

Cissy couldn't help but to laugh at him, well not really at him, but at a few of the things that he said. "Yeah, Simon, look at me." She shook her head a little. "I might be beautiful, but that doesn't mean that I'm not a mess. I'm a full-blown disaster. It tends to be more than most people can or want to handle." She smiled and shrugged a little. "But you seem to be standing up to it pretty well so far."

"And as for it not making any sense..." She shook her head. "Why doesn't it? I mean... I think you're beautiful. And I'm glad that.. well that I was bored enough to take you out the first time so that I could have the chance to see just how beautiful you are." She smiled. "Didn't take me long on the day that we met to figure out that you were a person that I wanted to know better."

"No, I can't ask you now!" he said. "What would be the point? I wanted it to be a surprise, to show you I was mature enough for this." He scoffed. "So much for that idea, huh?" It wasn't so bad, but it was annoying. "I'm going to think of something else. Something spectacular. And you'll be so impressed and swept off your feet, you'll just swoon to death." He winked at her. "Now all I have to do is think of something..." Eventually it would come to him.

"Oh, Cissy, you're not a mess," he assured her. "You're more like an untidiness. It always looks worse than it is because of all the clutter, but once you toss things into the toy bin you're halfway finished. You jst need to toss your insecurities into the toy bin, and you're halfway to being happy." He smiled shyly. "Stupid metaphor, but you get the idea."

When she told him he was beautiful, he rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sure. I'm tall and lanky and pale and skinny. I know I'm not Brad Pitt or anything, you don't have to say so." It just didn't stand to reason- no one else had ever said he was attractive, so why should it be true simply because Cissy said so? ...Because Cissy said so, and that was that. He would've loved to let that be enough. "I'm an Alabama hick," he said flatly, his southern drawl thicker than normal. "You're gonna get sick of me eventually."

Cissy laughed at his zealousness. She rolled her eyes and shook her head a bit. "Okay, fine. Don't ask me then. But you better come up with something quickly because otherwise I will start to feel unwanted again and have to sneak into your room again and remind you why you want to take me out in the first place." She arched a brow slightly just to punctuate the statement and then she giggled. "You know honestly it makes me swoon a little just knowing that you wanna make me swoon."

The analogy was a little.. odd, but it made sense. She was insecure. She was very insecure. And it was that that made her a mess to begin with. But it wasn't like it was without cause. There were plenty of things that happened to make her the way that she was, to make her feel as though she needed to feel the things that she felt, that she needed to have the insecurities she had, that they were warranted.

"Well maybe I like tall, lanky, pale, and skinny." Truthfully, those adjectives described most of the men that had made a real impact in her life for whatever reason. A brow arched somewhat dangerously when he called himself a hick, and then her jaw dropped when he said she would get sick of him. She pulled an arm from around him and pinched him on his arm. "Don't tell me what I'm gonna do!" She warned him. "If anything, you'll get sick of me."

"And don't talk bad about yourself either." She pouted a little bit just then. "I've not found anything about you that I don't like so far so you saying bad things about you is like saying that I have bad taste, and I don't. I have immaculate taste." She snubbed her nose up at him for a moment and then smiled.

"Oh, no," he faux-worried. "You're putting all this pressure on me. If I don't find the perfect date for you soon, you're gonna come back into my room and sleep next to me? Good God, what would I do then?" He tossed his hands up in defeat. "Crap, you might even show up in less clothing next time. Or even be naked. I don't even know what I'd do if that happened." He had to smile when she giggled. "Believe me, little girl, we do things proper in the south. I will find a way to make you swoon."

When she pinched him, he yelped. "Ow!" he shouted like a little girl. "That hurt and kind of tickled, you brat. Don't pinch me, it's against the rules." He didn't sound angry at all, but he was right- pinching is always against the rules.

"What are you talking about, good taste?" He wrinkled his nose. "You have awful taste. What's your excuse for those pajamas? They're a crime against fashion." He looked her over, at least what he could see of her anyway. "Awful," he said again. "Don't ever wear those again." He smirked a little. "Starting right now."

"You never can tell when it comes to me, Simon. I might even bring friends next time." She teased him, and then she busted out laughing and rolled her eyes. "I am so not good at making the threats, huh?" That was pretty much giving him a reason NOT to come up with something. "Awww. I kinda like the sound of that." She captured her lower lip with her teeth for a moment. It had been a long time, a very long time, since a boy had taken her out on a proper date.

"Don't call me a brat!" She said, her mouth dropping in feigned shock. "I will pinch you if I wanna." Of course, now that she knew he didn't really like it, she would probably just tickle him if it came down to it.

Cissy gasped! Her jaw literally dropped. "What's wrong with my pajamas?" She asked, looking down at them with a bit of a pout. She looked back up at him when he spoke, eyeballing him suspiciously. "You're just trying to get me naked, aren't you?" She gasped again, squirming out of his embrace. "You naughty, naughty boy!" She charged as she proceeded to pounce him, straddling him once more, her hands moving to seek out his ticklish spots. She knew he had to have some. Everyone did!

"Friends?" he asked, not sure if he liked that idea. "Well okay, but they better be in pajamas too. And they better be girls," he clarified.

A teenaged boy? Trying to get a gorgeous woman in his bed naked? Say it ain't so! "I would never!" he gasped, Cissy having already found a ticklish spot on him. He had many- his ribs, his tummy, his feet, underarms, knee pits, the back of his neck, and that spot where most women put tramp stamps. "OK OK OK stop!" he begged, squirming beneath her. "You're gonna wake up the whole school!" He was trying to giggle like a man, but how the hell do you do that?

When she did eventually stop, he took a moment to catch his breath. "Ok," he admitted, "I was trying to get you naked." As if Cissy hadn't figured that out on her own. He smiled innocently. "If it'll help," he offered sincerely, "I'll get naked first. You know, make you comfortable. Give whole new meaning to the idea of southern hospitality."

"Awww, now see that just ruins it. I don't have any girl friends!" She teased him with a devious smirk and a snicker. Like she was ever really do that!

"Oooohhhh!!! Someone is very ticklish!!" She remarked, having started with his ribs before moving up to his neck, then down to his tummy, then back up to his underarms. It was only after he begged for, oh, a minute or two, that she finally let up, laughing as quietly as she could as she let her hands come to rest on top of his tummy, smiling down at him.

"Well next time, Simon, just say so. Don't insult my fashion sense!" She pouted a little and then caught that lower lip of hers with her teeth again, thinking about it for a moment. She moved her hand down to the hem of his shirt tentatively, tugging on it a little in debate before she started to push it up, waiting to see if he would stop her or if he would sit up and make it easier for her to take it off of him.

His first reaction to her tugging on his shirt was to jerk a little, what with her having just tickled him for the past few minutes. His nerves were all on edge as well, so he couldn't hold back a small laugh as it burst from his lips. But he did sit up, allowing (and even helping) to pull off his faded and oldest t-shirt. He let Cissy toss it wherever she wished.

He rested his hands on her hips, his thumbs slipping beneath the hem of her nightie tank top. He didn't try to pull it up, though. Shirtess guys were much different than shirtless girls and he knew it, and he would never dream of pulling the 'fair's fair' card in this situation. He did, however, rub her skin with his thumbs and lean forward to kiss her shoulder.

"Pretty," he said simply. "I'm sorry I said your pj's were an abomination. They're not. They're adorable."

Cissy couldn't help but to laugh as well. "I'm not gonna tickle you." She assured him, and then smirked a bit as she added, "As long as you don't give me a reason to." She could feel her own breath constricting a bit in her chest, nervous like this was her first time which was so very far from the truth, as she slid his shirt off and over the top of his head, laying it on the bed beside them. She had plans for that shirt. Her fingers moved down to touch him, ghosting lightly over his chest, avoiding his nipples for now. She wanted to keep things light, sweet.

Goosebumps formed upon her skin as he touched her bare flesh. A smile formed upon her lips as he leaned in and kissed her shoulder. Her own lips caught his ear as he pulled away, her breath warm against his skin.

A smirk graced his lips as he spoke of her pajamas again. She moved her hands down to the hem of her own tank top and started to pull it up over top of her head. It was dark, so it wasn't like he would see much, only the parts of her bare skin that the moonlight illuminated.

Her top was tossed to the side, in the general direction of a chair that she recalled passing on her way in, and she took his shirt back in hand. A smile was given in his direction as she then slid that over her head instead. It didn't swallow her whole since he wasn't really all that big, but it was a comfortable fit. And it smelled like him, something she made evident that she was pleased with by pulling the top of it up a bit to smell it before she climbed off of him and moved to her feet at the side of the bed, slipping off her pajama bottoms which left her in nothing but is t-shirt and her white lace boy shorts.

The moon made her white skin glow, like she was an angel. Simon caught a glimpse of her bare breast, but he kept his focus on her face. It wasn't that he didn't want to look- dear God he so did- but now was no time to be oogling. This moment was sensual and beautiful and innocent, and he didn't want to ruin it. But he did sneak a peek in his peripheral vision. C'mon- of course he did.

But now they encountered a problem. There was a girl on his bed, a previously established fact. But now she was wearing nothing but his shirt and a pair of lacy panties. What the hell should he do now? He did not want to be disrespectful. That was the last thing he'd ever do to her. But, but.... gaaaaah. Hormones! Erection! Desire to see naked female! It was so unfair of his body to betray him like this.

He sat up with her, leaning close and kissing her again. His hand cupped around her neck, crawing her face up to his as he tasted her again. He would not go further than kissing, he told himself. But if she made a move on him... well, he didn't think self-restraint would last through that.

Cissy wouldn't have really minded if he had looked, but she really liked the fact that he didn't, that he kept his gaze mostly on her face, that he seemed content enough with her, with the moment, that he didn't need to stare the entire time that the opportunity was presented. She would have been slightly disappointed if he hadn't looked at all, however.

Once she was comfortable, she climbed back into bed with him. She was immediately, or almost immediately, met by his ams moving around her and his lips finding her own. She moaned softly into the kiss, mentally noting that he seemed much less nervous this time and it came a lot more naturally, it would seem, than the time before.

Cissy's arms hooked beneath his own, curling up to press her hands flat against his back, pressing her chest to his own as her tongue probed his mouth and danced with his own. Again, she moaned, her heart racing inside her chest.

After a long moment, she broke the kiss, her lungs staring to ache. "Simon.." She whispered, eyes closed, her forehead resting against his own as they both caught their breath. "I don't want anything to happen tonight that you aren't ready for. But I don't want you to interpret my holding back to mean that I don't want you." She pulled back, opening her eyes to look at him. "I do want you. When you're ready. If you want me too."

He panted, his head swimming. Was she kidding? Or course he wanted her! That went without saying. But as to whether or not he was ready... well, that was harder to say. He was certainly ready right now, but his body was just reacting like it should.

"N-no," he told her breathlessly, unable to look her in the eye as he said it. "I don't want... I just...I can't," he finished lamely. "I want it to be with someone I love. And I really like you, but... we're not there yet. I don't want to mess this up. I only get once chance." He felt like an asshole for saying it. Maybe she wouldn't understand, thinking he didn't want it to be with her. He did. But they weren't even dating, and Simon knew he wanted to be able to say 'I love you' to the girl he slept with, and their relationship wasn't there.

"I'm so sorry," he said softly, turning away. "I just can't do that. Not yet."

She wasn't going to let him turn away from her because there as nothing for him to be sorry about.

Her hands moved up to cup his face, turning it back towards her, forcing him to look at her as she spoke. "Simon, don't apologize. I.. I love that you wanna wait for someone that you love. You should. That's how it should be." And she would never want him to live with the regrets that she had about her first time. It hadn't been special then and, really, it had never been special since then.

Cissy pressed a soft kiss against his lips and then pulled away, moving to lay on the bed beside him again though she tugged him with her, pulling his arm around her so that they were spooning. "We should get some sleep. It's going to be more way before either of us is going to want it to be."

Cissy pulled his hand up to press a kiss against the back of it before her fingers laced with his own and she closed her eyes. "I am so keeping your shirt." She said after a moment of silence, and then cast a grin at him from over her shoulder. "And Simon, you are so gonna fall madly in love with me." She wiggled her eyebrows and then laughed softly, laying her head back down and closing her eyes once more as she snuggled back against him.

It was such a relief that Cissy understood. Most of the advice Simon received on sex came to him via television and the Lifetime channel. Therefore, from what he could conclude, men were horndogs who raped girls all the time and ended up dead because of it. Either that, or girls expected you to paw at them and if you didn't you were a fag. None of it had seemed very fair to Simon, but what did he know? Cissy wasn't acting like anyone he saw on tv, and that was just great. Sex would be a lot more special if they waited.

As he curled up behind Cissy, wrapping one arm around her tightly and tucking the other under his head, he breathed deep the scent of her hair. If this moment could last forever it would've been perfect. Cissy declared she was stealing his shirt- hiw oldest, most worn-out, absolute favorite shirt. And that was perfectly fine.

"And Simon, you are so gonna fall madly in love with me." Her voice was light and coy, and he smiled in response.

I already knew that.
