Week Ten : Saturday
Who: Summer and Kristi
When: Afternoon
Where: Halcyon School Grounds

Bullshit. Absolute bullshit. They wasted no time getting her here and now that she had changed her mind and had decided to leave, they wouldn't take her. She was obligated to at least stay and give it a chance. If she didn't like it after a couple of months, they would be more than happy to send her on her way, but they couldn't do it now, wouldn't do it. She was absolutely livid! Who the fuck did they think they were trying to tell her what she could and could not do?!? She was Summer Victoria Stone and she would do whatever the hell she wanted. Bullshit! It was complete and utter bullshit.

It was already decided, as she walked quickly across school grounds, that God, if he existed, hated her. Why else would he send them all here? Had she really been that bad of a person to deserve that sort of punishment? Just when she was starting to get over him, over the whole situation, here she was, and there it was right in front of her face again. Fucking bullshit!

Her steps suddenly halted as a realization hit her. Someone had just come around, not that long ago, asking questions. Was it coincidence that, weeks later, she would come face to face with the very person in question. Summer didn't believe in coincidences. "Someone set this up." She said, and then looked back towards the school. But how? How could someone know about her and make all of this happen? It didn't seem possible and yet it seemed quite probable.

And now she had something to think about. Stay or go? Sure, they told her she had to stay for a while, but she was confident she could find a way to leave if she wanted to. And then who was responsible, what did they want from her, what were they expecting to happen? Someone had to have gone to a lot of trouble. Or maybe it was fate intervening, bringing her here for a reason.

She was starting to sound like a crazy person.

Rolling her eyes at herself, Summer began to walk again, heading towards the path that would lead her eventually into town. She had to think about this, figure this out.

Just to the edge of the grounds, the heel of her shoe found the only hole that there was, sinking in and causing her to lose her balance. Her ankle twisted as she went down and the gravel scraped her knee which was left uncovered by the length of her denim skirt. "Fuck me!" She yelled, more out of frustration than pain. This was not turning out to be a very good day.

Well now. It was a different day, a different time, and a completely opposing situation confronting Kristi cel Tinar's attention span. Friday morning's tranquility had kept the young Demon unruffled for nearly a day and a half, but here - here was the shattering hammer. His eyes slanted a glance downwards by 65 degrees, left by 30. There she was, Miss Fuck Me, with her legs most indelicately spread, and a speckle of blood appearing on the now grubby skin of her exposed knee.

Kris wouldn't fuck her :(. He would, however, offer her a graceful hand to aid an attempt at rising. "Shouldn't give out invitations like that," he quipped, the faint accent of Eastern Europe overlaying his words. "Someone might get the wrong idea."

If there was one thing that Summer never did, or any of the Stone for that matter, it was accept help. Not from friends, not from acquaintances, and certainly not from strangers. Because of this, the hand was ignored, and with one hand moving to the ground for support, she managed to get herself up, hands moving down over her ass to wipe off the remnants of dirt and grass.

"Considering that you don't know me, how do you know that they won't get the right one?" The suggestion was something completely untrue but a point well made. She could be a complete and total slut for all he knew rather than a somewhat chaste girl who had been with less people than one could count on more than a single hand.

A wince fell from her lips as she attempted to place her foot back down on solid ground, losing balance as pain shot through her ankle all the way up to her thigh. A hand reached out for something to hold onto and found nothing aside from his shoulder. So much for self-reliance. "Goddamn shoes.." She mumbled as she removed the one from her injured foot, her ankle starting to swell. It was discarded on the ground just before her attention moved back up to him, soft teal eyes finding his own. "You don't just so happen to carry an ace bandage around with you, do you?"

Kris's amusement was palpable, but he hid it successfully behind a vaneer of lofty cool. His own eyes, an icy blue that only just made the grade as a colour, met hers. Only the merest tug at one corner of the Russian's mouth showed he might, just a little, find both retort and girl comical. "No, no I don't," he negated, and returned the profferment of his hand to steady her elbow while she wobbled.

"Do you often twist your ankle in order to get laid?" The question popped out of nowhere. Kris, not normally for instantaneous bad manners, could only respond in kind to the challenge this strange, snooty-faced female had laid out. "There are words for people like that, you know." His voice remained level, lilting and musical in a faintly patronising manner. For the unspoken record, Kristi cared not for assumptions that made ASSes out of U and ME, but loved a timely (or even an untimely) made joke. This girl, right this second, filled the quota.

"There's a bench not far back," he suggested. He made sure to keep the notion of aid out of his voice, able to read the way the woman had retreated from his offer of help just previously. "You can sit there."

If Summer was versed in anything it was reading people, especially people who, like her, did not easily give way to smiles. The slightest tug at the corner of his lips was enough and made her own eyes sparkle a little though her demeanor stayed exactly the same.

"Only when it comes to really cute ones." Her not so veiled way of letting him know that she found him, if nothing else, at least pleasing to the eyes. In fact, there were many traits of him that reminded her of her brother. The blond hair, the icy blue eyes which he had inherited from their father. Danny was a good looking man, as were all the men in her family, and she knew she herself was attractive, as were all the women in her family as well. "Words? I can think of only one. Desperate." A small smirk.

"A bench does not involve any ice for my ankle nor something to clean the gravel out of my knee." A brow arched ever so slightly. "I'm afraid you're just going to have to help me to my room." She gave a small shrug of her shoulders. "Or to the infirmary if you're so convinced that I'm a raging slut who'd have both our clothes off in under 60 seconds."

The youth, much more happy with the sight before him now that it didn't remind him of a grumpy little bear - or wolf, I mean really, who knew? When was the full moon? Was this another were? Would he be eaten for his out-of-place jokes? ...Inwardly, Kris chuckled at himself, and let the questions recede into the back of his mind. "I was thinking more adventurous," he suggested, with an arch of his brow that mimicked and mirrored her own. "Although," and here, Kristi glanced downwards, taking note of the rapidly swelling ankle, "I think only the most bizarre of fetishists would chase after that."

He glanced up towards the bench, just visible in the distance, and then, one slim shoulder - not the one the strange girl was leaning on - shrugged in acceptance. "Anywhere is fine by me," he said, "but there are three conditions:

One, you lead the way, I'm new and I have no idea where anything is.
Two, can you actually walk on that?
Three, just in case you turn furry once a month and file your teeth on picket fences, I'm really not that edible. Just something you should know."

"I've never met a guy who had anything against swollen appendages." The joke was definitely suggestive, and it was hard to keep a straight face after that. A bit of a smile managed to overtake her lips though the laughter was clearly visible in her eyes. Cute and entertaining. She was also trying to place the accent. Europe, definitely, but which part, she couldn't tell just yet. Russian, perhaps? She was a well traveled girl. She tended to pick up on those types of things.

"In that case, my room it is." She had just arrived herself so she had no idea where the infirmary was. She could find her way back to House Aquatic well enough. "As for walking, I've not tried yet as you have clearly witnessed. And I'm not a werewolf or werecat or whatever other varieties there are of those that exist. Just gifted." A sarcastic smile formed on her lips with the admission as she saw nothing gifted about it.

"Shall we try walking then? Or would you rather just have an excuse to grope my ass and carry me?"

The accent layering Kris' words was very faint. He'd moved to the United States at six years old, and thus his English was as fluent as any native speaker. He liked the curl his heritage spilled over English pronunciation, though, and often played up the accent - coincidentally when around attractive females. He found it worked a little magic, and gained him attention where otherwise it would not be found.

However, right this second, the innuendo caught the teenager off-guard, and left him grasping for words through an abrupt choke of laughter. "I... have nothing for that," he confessed, finally. "You totally win." A shake of his head followed, and he took the conversation to safer areas. "Gifted, huh," he queried, in a tone that was very open in its admission of cluelessness. "I don't know what that is, other than a box wrapped in a ribbon." Another glance at her leg. "And forgive me, but at this second you need cleaning before we present you to anybody."

A second or two longer, and then he lifted his head. "I'm a gentleman," he claimed, with a flick of his brow that suggested he really was anything but. "So how about a compromise: I carry you, but in the form of a piggyback, and therefore my hands will only be groping the more suitable area of your thighs."

What man with an accent didn't play it up a bit around Summer? She wouldn't go as far as to say that she was the hottest girl ever, but she had yet to meet a man who wouldn't at least consider her, even if she wasn't exactly their type. Yes, it was faint, but obvious all the same to anyone who had ever been to Europe and she had, many many times. Her parents loved to travel.

A smirk graced her lips when she found she had caught him off guard and, in a low, sultry voice she replied, "But I do.". She laughed then, one of the first laughs she had managed in many, many months, truth be told. "Don't worry, lover, it happens to everyone." She didn't know his name, so that seemed the next best thing to call him. She would have to remember to ask, eventually. Right now, it just didn't seem like pertinent information.

"Empathic." She said after a moment of debating rather or not she should explain. "I feel what people around me are feeling." And she came here to learn how to not feel those things as they sometimes drove her just a tiny bit mad. She would keep that part to herself.

"Mmhm, and I'm a lady." Summer replied in retort. And it seemed like the right moment to bring it up just then. "So before I wrap my legs around you, care to give me a name?" A hand moved to push hair back behind her ear as she used his shoulder to help her hop around to the back of him.

A sound caught somewhere between snort and laugh choked from the boy's throat. He had a nickname, tagged within the first 36 hours of his life at Halcyon Halls. It would prove no surprise to anyone that this particular nickname was pleasing. Unless, of course, the attractive girl on his arm had a boyfriend who had a possessive bent. He'd consider the idea later, when repercussions were nigh. Not right now, however, not when he was about to manhandle her atop him.

Not like that. Tch.

"Kris," he said, angling the word back over his shoulder. He stooped down so she'd have an easier time clambering aboard. The explanation of her gift was ringing in his ears, and he wondered, briefly, if that had some kind of connection to the repercussions he experienced from accidental dreamwalks. Unlikely, he reasoned, whenever he straightened to a standing position, lifting her carefully. Any emotional fits Kristi himself had were simply byproducts of stressful situations. "The ship you have just boarded is named Kris. Please give your name to the attendant as you travel so we can prepare your souvenir certificate."

Summer did not have an overly possessive boyfriend. She didn't have a boyfriend that wasn't possessive either. In fact, she had none at all. If she had one, she would have behaved much differently in this situation. She was not the type of girl who, while in a relationship, flirted with others... at least not often. And not blatantly. He had started it, however, and because of her unattached nature, and his very attractive one, she saw no cause not to oblige.

This was not exactly how she had anticipated spending her first day here at Halcyon. First, there was Natalia. Then the news of Noah being about. Then, on top of that, she had twisted her ankle. It seemed that bumping into, he had a name, Kris, was the first not so bad thing that had happened. Though generally speaking she didn't like the first impression she made on someone involving a "fuck me", swollen ankle, and then a piggyback ride. It could be worse.

Long legs wrapped around his waist once she was able to hoist herself up using just the one foot, and her already short skirt became so much shorter as it rode up to her upper thigh, barely covering her ass. "Summer."

He had started it, if honesty were permitted. Kris often did that, started things, continued things, played with things. What he did not do very well was finish things, and if truth were to be told, had a few loose ends lying here and there that, over time, he had entirely forgotten.

However, here he was now, his second day of living at Halcyon Halls, with a pair of long, sleek, and very bare legs that didn't belong to him wrapped around his waist. He couldn't help but feel a small amount of masculine pleasure at the situation, although it should be said that he did not include thoughts of the 'fuck me' swollen ankle. The repartee had been enjoyable; a cheerful moment breaking through a day of over-mulled thoughts.

For the sake of all parties involved, Kristi either did not notice the incredible transformation of skirt to belt, or pretended not to. "It's nice to meet you, Summer," he said, with a perfunctory, yet genuine dose of polite fun, a civil pleasantry tacked on after much lower levels of conversation had already been explored. He bounced her up a little bit higher on his back. "Drive," he said.

If honesty were permitted, she probably would have started it if he hadn't. That was her primary way of communicating, after all. Innuendos and come fuck me glances. She wasn't entirely certain why she was like that. Perhaps it was because of her brother, his influence on her, the way that she saw him interact with the world. He was very much cut from that same exact cloth and, having idolized him most of her life, she had mimicked him a great deal. And while Danny was accustomed to finishing things that he started, he did leave a great deal of hearts broken in his path. And though her tactics were slightly different than his, Summer had managed to do the same here and there.

"It could be nicer." So much for polite. A smirk played on her lips as he spoke the next part and she couldn't help but to muse, "That's what I like to hear." She laughed, more of a chuckle, and then asked, "Do you know the way to House Aquatic at least or do I have to start at square one?" He should at least know how to get to the front door of the building. If not, he was beyond all hope.

"Get us inside and I'll tell you where to go from there." She hadn't memorized the way, but if she saw the landmarks she could give direction.

"Yes Ma'am," the Demon said, and struck off in that direction. For all his reedlike build, he carried her easily, although this could be testament to her own light frame. His conversation reduced, the breath better used elsewhere.

Kristi himself had no siblings, just a father who had a devilishly debonair way with women, and a host of skirt-chasing hoodlums he sort of called friends. Kris also wasn't the type to idolise anybody, but he'd be lying if he said he hadn't watched, and privately envied, the way his elders swept girls into and out of their clutches at their own personal whims. As was often the case, envy had turned to emulation, and taught the pale Russian a great deal about the way to use the backmost alleyways of Las Vegas.

"How about we pretend it's another, nicer situation?" He asked, playful. "Where could we be?"

Light framed was not a phrase that was often used to describe Summer. She was nearly six feet tall, which was massive for a woman, but thin in spite of that. Her build was slightly muscular, however, so she was no tiny speck of a girl. It was a little impressive that he managed to carry her with such ease.

Summer could not imagine not having brothers and sisters. She hadn't been close to any of them but Daniel Jr., but she was still partial to having them around if for no reason but to harass them. Her parents had been raised in the Catholic faith, or at least her father had, so it was important to him to build a large family, not to mention he wanted heirs to carry on his name. Danny would do that one day, eventually, when he was ready to settle down. It was bound to happen sooner or later in spite of what he said.

"Well, I was making another sexual innuendo but, interpreting it the other way, maybe on a beach in California? The sun and the heat beating down. You bare-chested and me barely clothed, slick with suntan oil and sweat, and you damp from the surf washing up on you. A couple of cold beers in our hands." A smirk. "That could be nicer." A small shrug. "Of course sand in one's ass crack is never appealing so scratch that."

"You were doing well there," her albino donkey complained, rounding a corner on the path to land them in front of the main school building. He wished, briefly, for some kind of way to transfer a disappointed eyegaze to her, but without a mirror, was left with only his voice to use.

In truth, it was partly her height that Kris found so attractive. Topping six feet meant, even in America, that the Russian spent most of his time looking down, whether just by eyes, or having to physically lower his head to maintain a steady form of eye contact with females engaging him in conversation. He'd had bouts of practice carrying leggy frames that were far heavier than she, as boys who didn't know their limits took advantage of unlimited finances to waste themselves in gutters.

Sometimes the way Kristi spanned such different worlds amazed him. Comparing those numerous times to this one setting; a school, a girl, not a speck of city grime in sight. It was a jolt, if he paused to think - so he did not.

He shifted his hands on her legs to lift her more solidly onto the small of his back. "Duck," he advised, and took her through the door.

"Do I sense a touch of disappointment?" She asked, a brow arching ever so slightly even though he couldn't see it. If he were versed enough in her voice, in her tone, he would hear it, but she doubted they had gotten there just yet. "Hoping for something a little more... titillating?" It wouldn't take a genius to hear the smirk held in that word.

Most guys were taller than she was but she had met a few that weren't. Those tended to avoid her. And those that were the same height as she tended to loathe her wearing high heels. It was a curse. At the same time, however, how many girls had gams like her? Not many. And height never mattered much when you were horizontal.

She ducked her head down and then pointed him in the right direction, ignoring, for the most part, the few people that gazed in their direction. "So what landed you here?" She asked, having given him ample enough instruction to get them to her house.

"Well, don't get me wrong," the Russian explained. "It was all a bit Nirvana-esque until the idea of grit-borne bitching got in the way." He followed the pointed direction, noting the different leg of corridor that headed off towards his own House Zephyr. "I mean, I'm sure even grit in terrible places could be reinvented into something more... titillating." And here, he mimicked her tone almost perfectly.

"Parentage," he said, then, answering her question. "You know, when you get to a certain age and weird shit starts happening, and then your father says oh, by the way, son, there's something I forgot to tell you." His tone was wry, and although light in nature, held a myriad of mixed frustrations and apologies that Kristi did not attempt, nor care, to fully explain.

"I guess the shower afterwards would be rather.." At this point, she leaned in to whisper the word into his ear. "Titillating." She flicked her tongue against his earlobe and then smirked. "Better?" She asked, sliding her hands, arms wrapped around him, a bit further down his chest simply to drag her nails lightly upwards, teasing against the hard flesh beneath his shirt.

"At least you know where yours came from." She shrugged a little. "I'm not even sure what happened with me. As far as I know, neither of my parents or any of my siblings have.. this."

"I won't be able to get up the stairs on your shoulders. It's kind of a tight squeeze, vertically speaking." She announced once they made it to the dorm. "But you can still come up with me, if you want. I'm sure I could use a hand."

This girl was forward. Kristi, used to the mannerisms of the girls in the gang, wasn't perturbed, but he did flash her an amused glance, sideslung from the corner of his eye. "Much better," he agreed, and turned so that their backs were to the stairs. "Hold on," came the suggestion, and he lowered, sitting Summer on the steps. "There we go," he declared, and straightened, unashamedly adjusting both shoulders and back into their rightful comfort zones.

"It would suck, not knowing," he conceded, offering her the same hand as he had earlier - this time without a snide remark as flavouring. "How well do you know your family further back? Is that kind of thing inherited?" Kristi's lips pursed, indicating he was as ignorant, if not more so, than she.

"I think I like you." Summer proclaimed, the remark seemingly coming at random but she had been thinking about it from the moment she had first met him. "Which is good. I don't usually like most people." She was not what one would call a people person. Most people got on her nerves in the first five minutes of meeting them but here she had been around him for at least ten or fifteen and he had yet to annoy her.

Summer ran her hands down over her shirt to adjust it once she was seated, looking down at her swollen ankle with a frown. It was going to look bad tomorrow. Too bad she didn't have fast healing rather than having the ability to feel what others felt. That would be a nice talent to have.

Hand placed in his, she precariously stood, managing as best as she could on one good foot. "Not very well. I think it is though, from what I know about it, but my family is so tight-lipped about anything abnormal that I would probably never have known about it had I not been the offspring inflicted with it." She paused for a moment in her attempt up the stairs and took a deep breath. At least she was on the next floor up instead of all the way up top or something.

"Good," her companion exclaimed. "I just carried you halfway across the world." He took her hand, and looped it around his arm. He didn't ask, figuring that with Summer, it was just better to do. A little extra support went a long way. "You're welcome, though," came a swift addition, with a wink falling from one bright eye, bluer now that the drowning azure of the sky wasn't washing the hue away.

"What is it about families hiding things?" He said, then, as they made slow, but steady progress up the stairs. A wave of muted frustration spilled off him like water - then ended, whenever he realised where they were. "You do know I'm not supposed to be on this floor, right?" The question came with more amusement; he thought it was somewhat fun, breaking the rules on the very first day.

Summer rolled her eyes with a grin. "It wasn't that far." An arm moved to snake around his waist in return, appreciating the added support. It was very painful to put weight down on her foot but she was doing the best that she could. "I don't recall thanking you." She said, glancing over at him with a smirk. "At least not yet." She teased, a brow arching as a grin tugged at the corners of her lips.

"Well, mine is just far too rich and proper to admit that anything could ever possibly be wrong with any of us." A sparkle glistened in her eye as she looked over at him and answered, in feigned honestly, "No, of course I don't. And neither do you. We're new here, after all. How could they possibly expect us to remember all the rules?"

She looked up the staircase. Only four more to go. "It's just up there. First one on the right, thank God." She seemed more able-bodied in those last few steps than she had in the first few, grateful to be to her destination at last.

With the door pushed open, Summer released her grip on Kris and hopped over to her bed, plopping down upon it. Finally she was able to take off her other shoe, realizing just then that she had left the mate on the grounds. "Oh well." She said mostly to herself, tossing the shoe aside. "Come on in. Shut the door. Have a seat."

The youth beside her chuckled, and set the door to a light close. "So long as you back me up. I wouldn't want to be expelled from another school." Wasn't that the truth. Kristi's exclusion from schools of plenty, though, should not be put down to chasing girls to their bedrooms, swept off their feet or otherwise. Simple lack of attendance had been more than enough to show the ice-blonde reed the door. This time, though, he owed it to his father. The reason had become like a mantra, and was like to be repeated for however long it took for Kris's study habits - not that he had any study habits, but it was a worthwhile hope - to take over.

Her mention of her family, though, prompted another question. "Where are you from, then?" Kristi inquired, taking a seat on the first nearby piece of furniture, an angular wealth of limbs settling with accustomed, comfortable grace.

"Another one?" She asked, arching a brow slightly. "Why lover, you're a bad, bad boy, aren't you?" Summer teased him with a grin. "Of course I'll back you up." Her own study habits had not been so great which was why she ended up at Cal and her sister ended up at Brown. Autumn was the smart one, the good one, the one that her parents loved the most. Summer, on the other hand, was the party girl, the tomboy, the one that her parents had long since given up on. It would always be that way no matter what she did.

"The lovely Morgan Hills, California." She replied, and then moved her hands to the bed to push herself up so she could hop over to the small fridge she had in her room and grab an ice pack and a bottle of water. "Something to drink?" She asked, glancing back at him over her shoulder. "And you're.. European, right? Russian, perhaps?"

"Terrible," Kristi admitted, with a grin that held little true conviction. "You're a good girl, though, right? Backing up your new friend. It's what a good girl does." The smile widened, here, buoyed by the harmless, joking level of borderline flirtation they had dotting the table. Kris hadn't made it to college. Truthfully, he'd barely made it to Junior High, enrolling on the first day, and then doing the same as he had with every other establishment: leaving.

"Yes," he answered, "born in Bulgaria, but my dad's Russian. Moved to Las Vegas when I was young. Managed to avoid picking up the accent." Another jibe, only this one directed at the drawl lilting from Summer's lips. "Accents are things to be admired, not stolen. And if you've got some cold water, it'd rock."

"Mmm, I'm a very good girl." Summer replied back with a sparkle of mischief glistening in her lovely teal eyes. "And when I'm not good, I'm at least good at it." She added with a giggle and a flip of her hair, busting into laughter afterwards as she rolled her eyes. "Even I can't pull that off." She was so far from a girlie girl that it wasn't even amusing. She dressed very feminine, of course, but her personality was nothing like most girls she had known.

Being born and raised in California, having lived there her entire life, Summer didn't even recognize an accent in herself. His was obvious though. His words were.. heavier than the way an American spoke. That was the only way she knew to describe it.

She grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge for him before hopping back over towards the bed, a washcloth procured from the top of a box that had yet to be unpacked. She hissed a little as the cold water washed over the wound on her knee, dabbing at it with the cloth to get the gravel out. That would be good enough. She healed well enough even if it was at a pretty normal rate. Scooting back on the bed, the ice pack was placed on her ankle and she made herself comfortable, leaning back on one arm, head propped in her upturned hand, on her side so that she could look at him while they spoke.

"So.. you've got me alone in my room. Now what do you intend to do with me?" She spoke as if it were his idea, his goal, all along, though if anyone had been the catalyst in events, it had been her.

"What do I intend to do with you?" Kristi repeated, one eyebrow cocked as though indulging in deep thought. "Absolutely nothing," he concluded, snapping open the water with his left hand. "I'm not that kind of guy." His eyes, a deeper blue as the cheerful mood unfolded, twinkled. Perhaps he was that kind of guy, but only sometimes. Just sometimes. "I think, for a first date, my hands have had ample exploration of your assets."

The water tilted in her direction, an unspoken toast to whatever, and the Russian took a swift mouthful. "Unless," he said, as if the thought had occurred right that second, "you really can pull that off." Shaking his head, he dropped his eyes to her knee, and pursed his lips. "You should cover that," he suggested, the tangent cutting across his train of thought. "Grazes are nasty if the air gets to them too much."

"Well that's dull." She remarked, taking a swig of the water she had in her hand before arching a brow sharply. "I'd hardly consider this a date. And, even if it were a date, who should dictate what is and is not ample?" She shrugged her shoulders a little as she leaned further back on the bed once more. "I'd say your explorations were minimal at best."

"What? The dumb blond with the fluttering eyelashes and the come fuck me gaze?" She asked, a brow arching once more. "If I could pull that off, I think I'd be much less entertaining. And I would also doubt that today would be anything but just that, today." She glanced down at her knee before rubbing one leg against the other. "It's fine. If you cover them up, they don't scab properly."

"I'll take your word for it," the youth replied, leaning elbows to knees, and holding the water bottle by its cap, swirling the water inside. "On all of the mentioned counts." A lazy smirk decorated one corner of his mouth. Perhaps Kristi just wasn't that kind of guy. Maybe he'd just seen far, far too many of that collection of girls.

He changed the subject, honest curiosity spilling through his conversation. "So," came the question, "how long have you been at Halcyon? Is there anything around here to do that's half decent?"

"Good. Because I am always right." A smirk and then a pause. "Though while we're on the subject, when would be good for you?" A brow arched thinly. "A date?" Summer further explained. "I won't take no for an answer." Another grin tugged at the corners of her full lips.

"I have been here for..." She glanced at the clock in her room to see what time it was. "Approximately seven hours." She laughed. "I was going to leave, actually. Personal reasons but it was strongly suggested that I stick around."

Kris thought for a few seconds. On the one hand, it wouldn't do to let Summer know his schedule was, in fact, barren of all social intercation. Actually, it was bare of any interaction! On the other hand, she was, apparently, as new to the place as he was. That likely put her 'free time' situation running parallel to his.

"Well, let me see," He said, ponderously, with what was swiftly being set as his signature smile - the lopsided, one-cornered tug of his lips upward. "I have to wash my hair, get a manicure at some point, maybe take some time out for a tanning salon - is there a tanning place on this godforsaken island?..." He stopped, running out of stupid reasons to list. "Anytime," the continuing words were in a more serious tone, and accompanied with a wry flick of eyebrow. "I know a sum total of two people here, of which you are one. I think that gives you a fair chance of picking and choosing your time slot."

The wonky smirk turned into a grin. "But only if you're going to stick around. I wouldn't want my fragile heart broken so quickly after arrival."

Summer knew that he was new. She also knew how boys were, how anyone was, when it came to making arrangements such as those too quickly. She wouldn't have jumped right into an answer herself had he been the one to ask. It didn't seem like he was going to though, so she had seen to that herself.

"You are so cute." She remarked, regarding his little lop-sided grin that was absolutely adorable. Briefly she wondered how old this boy was but did it really matter? As long as he was legal, she had no worries, and even if he wasn't, did that really make a difference? Not to her. "How about I let you know?" She retorted, her eyebrow arching a bit tauntingly.

"I guess I could be convinced to stick around but.. it might take a lot of work." At that point, she pushed herself up into a seated position, leaning slightly forward so as to whisper, "Are you willing to put in that kind of effort, Kris?"

"Like begets like," the youth shrugged, turning the compliment into a neat little package he could return. Kris was the type of boy that rarely put himself forward into firm plans, especially with girls. He hadn't had his heart broken in the past, and he hadn't been hurt, but growing up with a single parent father had biased the Russian's opinion on which gender to hang out with. As a result, the girls Kristi spent time with were almost unfailingly proactive, much like another boy would be, in arranging the time, place, and other necessary details.

"I think some kind of effort could be arranged." His eyes twinkled. "So how about you call me?" He proposed, reaching for a pen he'd stuck in one pocket. A lefty, he carefully inscribed his number onto the slender expanse of her nearside forearm. "And I'll see what I can do."

A single parent home was something that Summer had never had but that wasn't to say that she had not grown up fucked up. Her parents pretty much hated one another and the only way they could ever get along was by bringing other people into their bedroom. Her brother, her idol, her role-model, was a womanizing asshole who had never managed to be faithful to a girl in his entire life. The near rape of her youth had garnered distrust for the male sex and her only relationship, with the way that it had turned out, had left her wholly pessimistic.

Yet she was still asking him out. But it might be that a part of her wanted to see if any jealousy at all could be incited in Noah. However, that was just a part of it because she did genuinely like Kris. At least so far she did.

A brow arched as he reached for a pen and then her arm, a smile curling her lovely lips as her teal eyes stayed trained on him, watching his face as he sketched the number on her flesh.

When he finished, she pulled her arm up to herself and then sat back. "Now why don't you get the hell out of my room before you get us both in trouble?" People were best in small doses. If you spent too much time with someone when you first met them, there was nothing to talk about later on. She wanted to leave him wandering and wanting to know more about her.

Kris did not believe in single parent children being screwed up in later years. Not unless there had been a particularly traumatic breakup involved with the parents. He, himself, had never known his mother, and unless something miraculous happened, was never going to. In Kristi's eyes, you could not miss something you had never experienced - and therefore, he refused to entertain the idea.

"That's a singularly grand idea," he commented, rising, and tucking the pen back into his pocket. He would agree with her take - people had a shelf life, and the highest risk of them running past their sell-by date ran through the first and second meetings. The trick was to keep things cool, and pace both parties through the reserves of small talk available. Kris, and it seemed, Summer too, was not an overall big talker. This gave everyone time.

"Don't leave me waiting too long," he cautioned. "Once bitten, twice shy, you know how it goes." His eyes grinned before his mouth did, and he winked. "Take care of that ankle," he said, moving to the door. "Call me if you need anything."

Summer was glad that he didn't take it the wrong way though it would have been amusing to see it if he had. She waved at him, not even bothering to say goodbye, as she situated herself back on her bed, her ankle propped up to help with the swelling. No, she wasn't much for small talk. She was a firm believer in the fact that actions spoke louder than words. Most people just lied when they talked anyways. At least that was her opinion and, to her, that was the only one that counted.

A smirk graced her lips as he warned her. Still, she said nothing but instead just moved onto her side, curling one leg up with the other still out and slightly elevated. "Will do, lover." And that was all he was getting. It was a sweet offer though, and one she needed. She doubted she could count on the other people, or person, she knew here to do anything at all for her.
