After receving approval on his wardrobe (and then a little nose kiss), Simon smiled. He was surprised, that much was for sure. Where would they go, what would they do? He guessed it was going to be someplace more lively than a picnic on the beach, which was okay. One thing he really liked about Cissy was that she was spontaneous and lived to the fullest. He needed someone like that to break him out of his shell.
As he and Cissy walked through the corridor, hands laced, he used his free hand to button up his shirt. Even if Cissy did like it, no one else in public would. Skinny boy chest is not on the #1 hot fashion lists of anywhere. There were many ways in which Cissy and Simon were different. Firstly, Cissy was an extrovert extreme, and Simon introverted so hard that sometimes he thought he'd turn inside out. Second, Cissy bubbled over with personality and spilled it on everyone she touched. Simon was barely noticed half the time, he was so quiet. And third, and most relevant to the moment, Cissy was the type who did not like not knowing what was coming. She would plead, pester and tease to try and figure out the surprises that awaited her. Simon on the other hand could wait. He didn't mind not knowing right away, didn't mind the suspense. And he also knew that by not beggting Cissy to reveal where she was taking him, it would make her a little crazy. And he tormented her because he cared.
"I don't think it's really possible for me to "fill up" on anything," he told her truthfully. "So wherever we go to eat I'll be able to have my fair share. And then some," he added playfully. "I'm surprised you're so eager to go out to eat, though. I know you're not a big eater. You been doing a lot of exercise that burned up your calories? Or are you planning on storing some up for a later activity?" He leaned in and kissed her cheek, grinning like the devil. He was new to using innuendo freely, and it tickled him every time.
