Week 19- Thursday
Who: Cissy and Simon
What: The Big Date
Where: Surprise locale outside school
When: After classes, about 3pm

She didn't have class, he'd checked her schedule. No dance club meeting, that was Wednesdays. Simon felt a bit like a stalker, but it was necessary to ensure it all went right. He hoped he was dressed well- comfortable, but not sloppy.

That Sydni was a genius. It had been a really good idea to ask her advice on romantic dates, because the answer she gave was just perfect. Of course, she was a girl and girls knew what girls thought was romantic.

He walked confidently through the girls' room hallway, because even if someone caught him he was in too good a mood to care. Placing his knapsack just outside the door, he straightened his shirt collar and knocked. When the door opened, he grinned shyly. Cissy looked very pretty. She always did.

"You're gonna have to change," he told her. "Second date attire required. Wear sandals, no heels, no skirts." He crossed his arms, looking faux impatient. "I'll be waiting. But I can't wait forever."

So it certainly wasn't Simon that she was expecting when she opened the door to her bedroom, and the shock showed upon her face just as clearly as it ever could have. "Simon!" She said, and then her eyes grew wide as she looked down at herself, looking much less together than she had ever looked in front of him before in her baggy yoga pants and a tank top, her hair in a bit of a mess as she had just finished her afternoon run.

Of course she had no time to really think about all of that before he was saying the magic words. "Second date?" She asked, a brow arching ever so slightly. The smile overtook her features almost instantly and she leaned in to hook an arm around his neck, a soft and quick kiss pressed against his cheek. "Five minutes and not a moment more." She promised, the door closed behind her.

Five minutes? What was she thinking? What was she going to wear? Did she even own something that was date appropriate that didn't involve a skirt? In a frenzy, she ran to the closet and started to pull things out. "No. No. No. Ugh!" Finally she found the less worn, not that any of it was really all that worn, section of her closet. Black pants. Great! And then a top. Which top? Ah! perfect! And sandals? Well.. most of them had heels and Simon was a bit shorter than she was and.. Oh! She had just bought a pair of new Sandals from Prada that would be just perfect. Feet were slipped into the shoes and then the final touches were applied; gloss for her lips, hair clasped up in a loose bun, and cotton candy perfume. Ravishing!

By the time Cissy returned to the door, her cheeks were flushed with the rushed effort she put into looking like a million bucks when she opened the door. "Better?" She asked, cocking her head to one side.

He stood in the hallway patiently, leaning against the wall beside the door. Cissy had looked absolutely stunned. Perfect! So far it was working out quite well. He was still ten bundles of nerves, though. There was no need to be. They could talk to each other easily and where he planned on taking her wasn't that extraordinary. But this was date #2 and he had big things planned and there was a very distinct chance it could all go to hell.

Five minutes? Please. Simon knew enough about girls to know that they didn't have the physical capacity to get ready in just five minutes. Hell, it had taken him almost an hour to get dressed, and he wasn't being all that impressive. Surprisingly, though, Cissy came out in a very short time and she looked (and smelled) absolutely amazing.

"Wow," he said honestly. "You look beautiful. And you smell like the carnival." Simon grinned. "Which is good." Ok, so step one to The Big Date was complete. Simon had never been any good at being in charge of anything, so he was more than a little unsure of himself. Hopefully Cissy would not think he was being bossy.

"Alright, we're gonna go. But there are a few conditions. One, no asking questions. Not one." He smiled, knowing it was going to kill her not knowing what was going on. He grabbed his backpack off the floor, giving her a look to silence her because he knew she wanted to ask what was inside. But she wouldn't. He brought her to just outside the front door to the school before stopping again. "Rule two: you're not allowed to see where we're going." First he held out the backpack to her, indicating she should put it on. (It wasn't heavy, but a few things would clunk together as she shrugged it onto her shoulders. Something that would sound like the cafeteria cups hitting one another.) Once she had fixed the straps for a proper fit, Simon pulled a faded green handkerchief from his back pocket and held it out to her. "No peeking," he teased, waiting for her to tie it on. Once Cissy was blinded, he moved in front of her with his back to her. He took her arms and carefully guided them around his neck, pressing himself closer to her. "Alright, jump up," he told her, giggling a little. They were going to look so ridiculous, but it would be so worth it.

Cissy was actually heavier than he expected her to be, but maybe the backpack was aiding in that. He'd seen her eat before, and he'd half expected her to jump up and simply float away to the moon. Simon walked out onto the school's green, grinning and semi-waving at the people he passed. (Waving as best he could, with his arms supporting Cissy's legs so she didn't fall off.)

It took almost fifteen minutes to get to their destination. "Okay, we're here," he said, gently helping her ease down to the ground. Cissy's feet touched down (and immediately shifted in) warm, soft sand. The sound of rolling waves was to her immediate left. Simon slipped the backpack off her shoulders, then turned her to face somewhere off to her right. "Okay, we're here," he told her, his voice low and nervous. God, what if she hated it?

Easiing Cissy's blindfold off, Simon held his breath as her eyes adjusted to the sunlight and settled on this.

So maybe being the assertive one wasn't really in Simon's nature, but Cissy certainly did like it. She had always rather enjoyed it when the man in her life told her what he wanted, what he expected, what to do. Odd, considering how stubborn she was at times, but laying down the law generally alleviated that stubborness, as Simon would soon find out.

Her mouth had opened to ask the question, the one he knew she was going to ask, but she was immediately hushed, and she took it, biting that lower lip to maintain her silence as he laid down the rules for the day. She slipped the backpack on, a brow arching at him ever so curiously as the items inside clanged haphazardly together. The next suggestion was met with a smirk, however. "Blindfold?" She asked, and then grinned as she added, knowing already the impact the single word would have, "kinky."

It took a lot of trust to allow someone to lead you along blindfolded, and Cissy would admit to being a little bit nervous about it, but once it became clear that he wasn't going to make her walk to wherever it was they were going without being able to see, she relaxed a little bit. It was slightly awkward trying to climb onto his back without being able to see him, and she even let out a little bit of a scream at one point in time, but she managed well enough, and soon she was comfortable, or comfortable enough rather, upon his back, unable to stop herself from smirking about how silly this must look to everyone else.

She wouldn't have been Cissy Vallario if she didn't spend the fifteen minutes down there tormenting the poor boy by kissing him neck and nibbling on his ear and sending shivers up and down his spine. It was too easy in this position for her to resist. And he was just too adorable when he was flustered. She couldn't resist the chance to see him all flushed and anxious.

Her feet touched down in sand once they were there which, along with the sound and scent of the surf, certainly gave away their location. The blindfold was removed and a smile graced her lips as she looked around, seemingly impressed but not overly so for the moment, as she slid the backpack off of her shoulders. Of course, as soon as the backpack was placed on the ground, she let her true feelings about the whole set up be known.

With no warning, she flung herself at Simon, arms around his neck, and planted a huge kiss upon his lips with a soft moan. "Simon, this is beautiful!" She proclaimed as she pulled away, her hand capturing his own and pulling him down with her as she moved to take a seat upon the blanket, laying back and allowing her gaze to focus on the sky. "Perfect day for it too." She smiled as she turned to face him. "I like this so much better than going to the club." It was much more romantic, and Cissy was certainly a romantic at heart.

Well, if Cissy's goal had been to make him flustered the whole walk over, she had succeeded. His ears were very sensitive, so every kiss, every breath made him shiver. It took lots of concentration to keep her from falling off. Or to keep himself from simply putting her down and kissing her to death.

Luckily for Cissy, Simon had reflexes like a cat. He caught her easily, but was too surprised to reciprocate the kiss. He had been very worried she wouldn't like the surprise, and when she didn't say anything right away he worried even more. But fortunately, she loved the whole thing. Score one for Simon!

"I'm glad you like it," he said, laying down beside her on the blanket. "I can't take the credit for it, though," he admitted. "I asked my friend Sydni what would be a romantic date, and she said a picnic on the beach was the best bet. The two of you are nothing alike, but I figured at the heart of romance, girls know what girls want, right?" He looked over at the shoreline, a mere ten feet from where they lay, and made a conscious decision not to look at it again. He knew that he'd be safe, and if a huge wave crashed down and swept him away Cissy would try to save him, but.... Well, water = no good.

Cissy wouldn't have minded if he had dropped her as long as he picked her back up and kissed her to death. Kissing had to be her most favorite thing out of anything. She would love to just lay there with him on the beach and kiss for hours, until the sun set, until they both got cold, until they had no other choice but to keep one another warm. That sounded entirely romantic and she was a sucker for romance, probably because no one had ever really put that much effort into romancing her before.

Rolling her eyes, Cissy shook her head softly. "See, you shouldn't have said that. You should have just taken credit. I mean, after all, you're the one that thought to ask, right?" She gave a small shrug of her shoulders, her eyes glancing to the shore just as his had and then back at his face. "I take it you don't care too much for water?" She asked, though it was obvious by the look upon his face. A hand reached out to brush a strand of hair back out of his face before she rolled onto her side to face him, resting her head upon her hands.

"What's the story behind that?" She wanted to know everything about him, and the things that he feared and the reason why he feared them certainly fell into the category of everything.

Simon groaned. "No, you don't want to know about that," he assured her. "That's not the kind of thing you talk about on a date." Except this was Cissy Vallario, and she did not ask questions she did not want answers to. And she also didn't take 'No' as an answer. He sighed, knowing that he had been defeated without her having to say a word.

"Okay," he conceded. "I used to live on a house by a lake. I was baptised there, actually." His mother had made a special request for it, and he'd seen pictures of himself in the tiny white gown as the priest sprinkled water on his face. And he'd been screaming in every picture.

"After we discovered my fire abilities, my mom thought I was the devil. Like, literally. She used to splash me with Holy Water every now and again, see if she could catch me off guard and burn out the demon." It was obvious he didn't like talking about his mother, that it embarassed him to no end. But he continued anyway. "As part of my treatment to flush out the devil, she'd take me to the lake and hold me under water for as long as I could stand it, hoping to 'put out the fire in me'." His eyes glazed over, looking distant and nostalgic. "Anytime I did anythign with water it was wrong," he concluded. "She watched me shower to make sure I didn't do anything wrong. She tried to drown me. She forced me into a religion I'm not even sure is right." Wow, there's a lot of revelation here, he thought. Maybe stuff best left untouched.

"I'm also a fire nymph, so that might have something to do with not liking water," he concluded. He wouldn't face Cissy anymore.

"But I do." Cissy protested, a small pout forming upon her lips. She wasn't the type to take no for an answer, and he knew that. She knew he knew it by the sigh that parted his lips. Of course, she wasn't all self-satisfied by that once he started to tell her the whole story.

Cissy listened to him speak, the frown upon her lips growing more and more as he continued. And then he wouldn't look at her, and that just wouldn't do. Cissy shifted her body, moving to lean over him, turning his face towards hers. "I'm so sorry that you've had such a bad life so far, Simon." She stroked his cheek with the back of her hand.

"My mom likes to harass me. I think she hates me. I'm not even sure why aside from maybe the fact that she's a demon." She said, laughing softly. "I think it's because my papa loves me so much. I'm pretty sure she's jealous of that. But the thing is... Well as much as he loves me, he's not a very good father." She chewed her lower lip for a moment.

"Every time I go home, my mom puts me on a scale and badgers me about even the slightest bit of weight I may have gained and when I was younger and I actually lived with her, she made me keep a journal of everything that I ate and.. After a while I just stopped eating all together." She frowned, inhaling a deep breath as she leaned down to nuzzle her face against his neck. "I still have a hard time with that, but I'm trying to be better."

Shifting so that she was curled up against his side instead of leaning over him, Cissy moved her hand down to lace her fingers with his own. "We all have demons, Simon, if we didn't, we wouldn't be here." She chuckled a little. "But you shouldn't ever be ashamed of things that happened to you that were beyond your control, not when it comes to anyone and especially not when it comes to me." She moved their interlocked hands up to her lips to press a soft kiss upon his and then smiled.

He knew Cissy was right. She was older than him, smarter than him. But that didn't make it easier. Although listening to her, he realised it could always be worse. He felt Cissy got a bum deal in her life. Even with his mom's insanity, he knew that deep down she did everything because she loved him. Adrianne had wanted satan gone from her sone because she loved him enough to save him.

"She was scared," he said aloud. "My mom. I can't say I blame her. Until I came here, I didn't understand what was happening to me. I would've been scared too, if my son were setting fire to things." As Cissy kissed his hand, he stroked her hair. "I wish your mom could love you," he said honestly. "That's really too bad. But I guess you can learn from her, huh? How not to be?" He wanted very much to find a bright side to this, but there wasn't any. Sometimes there was only dark.

"I don't want to talk about this anymore," he whispered, his voice hoarse. "We're supposed to be having fun. It's a date. I packed reallly great sandwiches, and a small bag of chips. And a box of cookies and a fruit roll-up and a granola bar and a bottle of cranberry juice." He smield at her. "Most of that is for me, but I expect you to eat until you pop." He kissed her nose and sat up, unpacking his backpack. "In the meantime, you can ask me another question, if you like."

Just because she was older didn't mean that she was wiser, but she wanted him to be okay with her, always okay with her, and to know that he could talk to her about anything and that she wasn't going to judge him. Why would she? Look at all that she had been through, all of the mistakes that she had made? How could she possibly blame him for things that he had no control of when she had done so many wrong things that perhaps she should have controlled? That wouldn't even make sense.

"I grew up with quite an advantage on that front. I always knew what I was and why." She gave a small shrug of her shoulders. She smiled as he stroked her hair and leaned in to kiss his cheek. "I will never be like her. Ever." And she wasn't. Everything she did, she did with feeling, with passion, with all of her heart, not with cold indifference like her mother did.

"Oh wow." She laughed. "That is a lot of food." She wasn't sure she could force herself to eat until she popped, but maybe she would at least eat until she wasn't hungry anymore. She hadn't done that in a really long time, but she felt like maybe being here with him, she could convince herself to do just that. He looked at her like she was beautiful and she didn't even have to ask, so maybe it might would be okay to get over those old hang ups.

"So.. okay.. My question is that... well I have something that I've been thinking about giving you, something that's really special, at least it is to me and... well my question is, if I give it to you, will you promise to take care of it?" She already knew that he would, but maybe she needed to just be urged on a little. It would be hard for her to part with especially considering she had just now gotten it herself.

Simon tried to think of what Cissy might give him, but he couldn't. She looked kind of nervous, though, so it must be important.

"I think so," he told her honestly. "Wait, is it a goldfish? Because I have to warn you, I've never had a pet before so I don't know how well I would take care of it." He knew that it probably was not a goldfish, but he hoped to lighten things a little. He didn't like how worried she looked at the moment. She looked too young.

"Of course I'll try," he assured her. Simon didn't like making promises he couldn't keep, and until he knew what 'it' was, he couldn't guarantee anything.

Cissy couldn't stop herself from laughing at the suggestion of what it was. "First of all, it's not a Goldfish." She shook her head softly. "And second of all.. you've never had a pet?" That was just horrible! She would have to remedy that right away. Granted, she didn't really care too much for pets, but every one should have at least one once in their lives.

A smile formed upon her lips as he said he would try, and she reached into her small purse that she had brought with her to pull out the gift. "Before my dad started flying regular airline planes, he was a Navy Pilot. And when he graduated from the pilot school or whatever, these were the wings that they gave him." She held out the small gold pin for him to look at.

"He sent them to me earlier this week, as a gift, and I'd like it very much if you would keep them for me." She chewed on her lower lip as she waited for him to respond. "And he's coming to visit too, sometime soon, and I'd really like it if you would maybe meet him while he's here."

Simon carefully took the tiny pendant from Cissy, his eyes wide. "Oh my God," he murmured, turning it over in his fingers. "Cissy, this is... I don't know if I can accept this. These were your dad's." He didn't know what to say. This small pin represented so much, not just for him and Cissy but for everyone- the country, the Navy. It was just big.

"I was going to wait until later, but... now seems like a better time." Simon reached into his pocket and withdrew something still closed in his fist. "It's not real," he said right off the bat. "But it's what I could afford." He held out his hand, palm up, and slowly opened the fist to reveal a dainty ring.

"Maybe you could wear it?" he asked nervously. "And then whe I meet your dad... he might think I'm an ok guy." He'd never met a girl's parents before, except when hje was in grade school the he ate dinner at friend's houses. But this was much, much different.

It did mean a lot. It was pretty big, almost too big, she had thought. But her desire to do just this had won over her fear and here she was, giving him something that probably meant more to her than anything that she owned just because it belonged to her father, it was a major part of who he was, and she loved him more than anyone. "But I want you to have it. I mean, at least for right now.." If they ever parted ways, well, she would have to get it back from him, but she definitely hoped that didn't happen.

The gift that he had for her made her arch a brow slightly, and then she smiled, perhaps the brightest most beautiful smile he had ever seen to date. "Aww, Simon. It's beautiful!" It didn't matter that it wasn't real, didn't even really matter if it turned her finger green though she hoped that it wouldn't, it was the thought that counted most of all and the thought that was behind it was certainly a thought that she was okay with.

Cissy laughed softly and shook her head. "There is no possible way my father would think you anything other than okay because I wouldn't like you so much and you wouldn't make me so happy if you weren't." She insisted, and then she shifted onto her knees and held out her hand. "Put it on for me."

As Cissy got to her knees, Simon rolled onto his side, propping himself up with his elbow. He held the ring in his fingers, waiting for her fingers to extend. Simon slipped it onto her ring finger, and even though the ring was a little big, it looked very pretty. "Your fingers are too skinny," he grinned.

After he had staked his claim on this girl, Simon rolled back onto his back and fiddled with the Navy wings. Was this the kind of thing he should wear, or put someplace safe and never lose? He decided that, for the moment, he would adorn them. They looked quite spiffy (if not a little silly) on the collar of his polo shirt. "Thank you," he said again, meeting her pretty eyes.

"So tell me more about your dad," he asked, sitting upright and grabbing a sandwich from his backpack. It was turkey and provalone on wheat bread. (The other being ham and swiss on wheat.) "Turkey or ham?" When Cissy made her selection, Simon unwrapped the other and took a large bite.

It was a little bit big on her but that was okay. "They are not!" She said in response, a bit of a pout upon her lips before she smiled, toying with the ring upon her finger. "I love it." She decided, and looked up at him with a smile. "Though I am going to have to get it sized." Which was not a big deal. It was either that or gain some weight and.. AS IF!!!

Cissy watched him pin on the wings and she smiled. "Looks good on you." So this meant that he was her boyfriend, right? She wasn't entirely sure how that worked seeing as how she had never had a boyfriend before. Lovers, yes. Boyfriend, no. It was a nice feeling, the whole belonging thing, not that she was entirely unfamiliar with that just... unfamiliar in this capacity.

Cissy didn't answer either of his questions just yet and instead leaned forward to catch his face with her hand and his lips with her own. She pressed a deep, eager, yearning kiss to his lips, one that would leave them both breathless before she pulled away. She was smiling as she sat back and licked her lips. "Turkey." Typically that was more lean than ham. "And what would you like to know?"

Anytime Cissy kissed him, his head spun a little. And she always looked so coy afterward, as if she held a secret in her mouth and tried to give it to him every time they kissed but he just couldn't find it.

"Ehfryshing," he said, his mouth full of ham. "Anyfing." He chewed quickly and swallowed. "Anything you want to tell me about him. I'd like to know something before he comes. Like, where did he meet your mom? What kind of stuff do you guys do together?" He took another bite, smaller this time. "Just anything."

Cissy was quickly allowing herself to become wrapped up in this. She hardly gave anyone other than Simon the time of day and when she did, it was normally to talk about him. And after today, she would be gushing even more. It would be amusing to see how many people would be able to even deal with that. She was quite intense whenever she fixated on something.

"Well that narrows it down a lot." She teased as she unwrapped her own sandwich, taking the first bite as he clarified. It was good. She didn't usually do cheese so it was quite the treat for her. "He met her in Greenland, after he became a commercial pilot. He said it was love at first sight." She shrugged. "They got married two days after they met!" Amazing, but true. "I guess I kinda get that though. Like, well, I knew there was something special about you when I first met you." She smiled sheepishly and then took another bite of her sandwich.

"As for what we do together, I dunno.. different stuff. Shopping trips, sightseeing, going to the zoo, to baseball games, the tracks." She shrugged again and smiled. "Late night trips to the ice cream shop and early morning outings to the bakery. Movie marathons, bungee jumping, rock climbing, skydiving." There wasn't much that she hadn't done with her father, aside from some of the water sports she had tried.

Back at his high school, Simon had friends who'd droned on and on about their girlfriends (or boyfriends, for his few female friends). He could not understand how you could have so much to say about one person. He'd had crushes before, but none of them had evoked a full days worth of chatter from him. Being with Cissy, though... everything she told him was fantastic. She was so mysterious, alluring. And, of course, sexy.

"Wow," he said, impressed. "You guys have done everything cool! I've never even come close to doing awesome stuff like that. Of course," he added, "I'm not very rich, either. We got by, but not well enough to travel so much. Or jump from an airplane." He took the last large bite from his sandwich and contemplated what he and his mother had done for fun. As he swalloed, he realised that, by comparison, his life had been dullsville right up until the moment he'd come to Halcyon. Actually, it had been dull here too, since he hadn't come out of his room until... A smile crossed his face- Until Cissy had taken him out on their first date.

"I've done more wholesome mother-son stuff, like host the church bake sale and win the block party triathalon. Three years in a row, thank you very much." He grinned and dusted the sandwich crumbs off his hands. "Mom and I are pretty stellar at the three-legged race. 'Course, by the time I got big enough for us to run it, I could carry her halfway. First year I did it she hollered at me like the moon was coming down. Next year, though, she practically jumped into my arms." His smile grew faint and nostalgic. "It wasn't all bad back then," he said out of nowhere. "I know she loves me." But he wasn't sure if he could love her back. At least, not yet. He had to forgive her first.

Simon decided he did not want to talk about this anymore. He was here with Cissy and he was having a damn good time. "Let's go for a walk," he suggested. Then he added, "In the surf. I've never walked along the beach before, but I think it's something we should do."

"Well we can do it. Together." Cissy suggested. She didn't mind spending her father's money on fun things, especially if she had someone to do them with, especially if that someone was Simon, her boyfriend. That thought was enough to make her giggle a little. "I don't think my dad is really rich. Well, he is, but he wasn't born rich. He just invested well." She gave a small shrug of her shoulders.

"My father's family is really religious. I am too even if... Well I can't really go into a church." She frowned a little bit at the thought. "But that sounds like fun. Did you help her bake things in the kitchen?" And of course the way he worded things, the whole "hollered at me like the moon was coming down" part, made her grin a little. Did he not realize how incredibly cute he was?

And here they were, back on the subject of his mother again. She didn't mind, but clearly it made him uncomfortable. "Simon..." She started carefully, "If you maybe like.. ever decide that you wanna go see her, I could go with you. If you wanted me too." She gave a small shrug of her shoulders. Sometimes it helped just to have someone around.

The suggestion of a walk definitely made her smile, and she wrapped her sandwich back up since, well, she hadn't nearly finished it yet, but she had managed to make it through half of it. Placing the sandwich down, she moved to her feet and slipped off her shoes. She held her hand out and waited for him to take it before she started to walk down towards the shoreline. "You sure you're okay with this?" Being near the water, that is. She added with a smile, "I'll keep you safe."

"You're religious?" Simon asked. He didn't mean to sound as surprised as he was, but, well... he was. Cissy just seemed so rebellious and free, and religion seemed to constrictive to a girl like that. But he was pleased as well. God loved everyone, no questions asked. "I know a lot of people have a hard time with organized religion. Especially Christianity. But I think as long as you find peace in some way, then that's all that can be asked of you." He smiled. "Actually, I know a genuine witch. And she's super cool."

As Cissy mentioned his mom, Simon averted his gaze. "Yeah, maybe," he said. His tone said 'Yeah, maybe in a million years'. He didn't want to see his mom, maybe not ever. She wouldn't be the woman he remembered, and that would just be awful.

Simon got to his feet, dusted off his pants and took Cissy's hand. "I'm sure," he assured her, although he wasn't. He kicked off his sandals and headed towards the water. The wet sand was cool on his toes, the water splendidly icy. This wasn't so bad, actually. Maybe it was all about context. He certainly wasn't going to be signing up for swim lessons anytime soon, but walkign in the surf wasn't as traumatic as he'd thought.

"This is nice," he told her. "And you'll save me if I drown, of course, right?" He smiled at Cissy, then kissed her cheek.

"Yes." Cissy said, and laughed a little. "You know you should be glad that you are so cute because I might otherwise be offended by the fact that you sound so shocked." She arched a brow dangerously and then smiled. "I was raised Catholic." She explained a bit further, shrugging her shoulders. "I mean, I never went to church because I can't, but I know the bible and I know faith and I know how I should live even if I haven't always lived that way."

They didn't have to go, she just wanted him to know that she would be there for him if he decided that he wanted to. She would follow him there and be by his side while he dealt with whatever he had to deal with.

"I'll save you before you drown." She said, and laughed softly, peering over at him for a moment before she pulled him towards her. "Come here." She ordered him, arms hooking around his neck as her lips found his in a soft yet deep kiss, the surf lapping at their ankles.

"Mmm.. I really like kissing you. And I like this too." She said, glancing over her shoulder at everything he had brought with him. "I think you just about thought of everything." She grinned. "Remind me to thank Sydni." She laughed.

As Cissy leaned in to kiss him, Simon wrapped his long arms around her waist. She seemed to fit perfectly inside them, like fingers fit into a delicate ladies' glove. Her cinched waist and slim hips were delicate and perfect. It made Simon feel strong, like a protector.

He was glad Cissy liked the picnic. It wasn't much, but sometimes the thought really was what counted. "Yeah, Sydni is a genius," he agreed. "But the ring was my idea, so I get some credit, right?" He smirked, then gave her another quick kiss before taking her hand again and continuing their walk.

"So, tell me how you plan to save me," he said, kicking the water with his toes. "Will you call for help, phone the police, or go by the old standby- mouth to mouth?"

Cissy definitely liked the fact that she made him feel that way. And he very well should feel that way seeing as how she was how she was. She liked to be the girl in the relationship. Granted, she was a girl of course and he was a man, but she liked to play the role of the fairer sex, the needy damsel in distress. She liked to feel as though she was being taken care of, being protected, and she did feel that way when he wrapped his arms around her, like maybe he was going to be the one that was going to help make everything okay.

"Of course!" She said, and smiled softly. The kiss was greeted with a soft moan and then a laugh as she linked her hand with his own and continued the walk by his side.

"Eww, mouth to mouth? With you?" She teased, looking utterly disgusted. She laughed then and gave a small shrug of her shoulders. "Well, I would pull you out and carry you to shore, lay you on the sand, both of us soaking wet, water dripping off of me onto you and I would definitely, definitely go with the mouth to mouth." She arched a brow slightly as she tried not to grin, unsuccessfully, a silly smile spreading out across her lips.

"I really like this." She said, abruptly so. "I mean.. I really like being with you. I like the way... I feel when I'm around you." And then, just to break the seriousness, she leaned down quickly and used her hands to cup some water and splash him. He seemed comfortable enough with kicking it around, and well, he would have to start to get used to it some time. It didn't strike her as being a bad idea even if maybe it should have.

Cissy made him smile. No matter what she did, what she said, he could not stop smiling. Her kisses were sweet, her face was bright and he had a girlfriend. Oh, the words rolled in his head like marbles. It scattered his thoughts and he couldn't focus on anything but the fact that she was his girlfriend.

His gut reaction to being splashed with water was to scream. He did not, did not, like water. But he managed to successfully play his scream into a good-natured laugh/scream that sounded innocent enough. After all, this was Cissy. She wasn't trying to baptise him, or drown him, or purge the fire from him with water. She was simply being cute and playful. And maybe it was time he got over his aversion to water anyway.

"You wanna swim" he asked, his voice just a little shaky. "We could go in our clothes, or our underwear..." He looked up at the sky, which was just starting to darken. "Or without," he murmured, leaning in and kissing her mouth.
