Week 15: Friday Evening
Who: Ita and Kin
What: An accidental meeting
Where: In the kitchen

Despite the discouraging catastrophe with her surprise breakfast for House Aquatic, Ita was by no means discouraged from the kitchen. She'd had fun the night before with Sasha. And tonight, she had to prepare for her picnic with Xander tomorrow. She'd found an interesting recipe stashed away in one of her many cookbooks. Granted, it was one that hundreds of other people had, but it was so unique she was fairly certain that she had no risk of Xander having ever had it before.

Dressed in a long, flowing, gauzy green and blue tie-dye style skirt and a short sleeved matching blue and green top, she headed down to the kitchen with a backpack stuffed with supplies and ingredients. She'd even shoved her mini George Foreman in there. Necessary for the filet mignon she would be grilling.

Upon reaching her destination, she followed her usual ritual of filling up an empty sink with water and moving the fire extinguisher close to her work area. First, she prepared the tartlets she'd have for dessert tomorrow's picnic. Cranberry and apple - a nice little twist on a traditional pie. She didn't bother making her own crust. Aunt Lissa never had, and her cooking was just fine. She had fun cutting little stars out of the dough and using them for the top crust. In fact, she giggled a bit as she did so. They were cute.

Popping them in the oven, she set to making the pear and onion relish. Her mouth watered thinking about how it would taste tomorrow. What a neat mix of flavors! Add the bleu cheese dressing and the filet mignon to the wrap, and it was sure to be an interesting meal. And, if she didn't like it, she'd never have to try it again. Although, hopefully, Xander would at least like it.

With that in mind, Ita set to cutting up the various ingredients for the relish, and prepping the spices and other flavorings. She plugged in the George Foreman and waited for it to heat up while she chopped. She'd even make the dressing herself. Well, sort of. She had a cheat for making bleu cheese dressing.
