Who: Omni & Meredith (long) Where: His house What: Talking & Bonding When: Just before meeting John Rating: PG-13
Meredith snuck up behind Omni and set Azure on his head.
Omni stood very still and took the critter down carefully before turning round on her. "What is the meaning of that?"
"He wanted to visit you." She nodded knowingly
"So you put him on my head?" He was confused by that.
"He asked me too. Likes the height."
Omni's was petting the critter without even thinking about it. "He asked you to?" He doubted that. "They aren't an intelligent enough creature for that Meredith."
"Not for words no. But images. Those they can manage just fine. Those trying to interpret what they want from the images can be hard at times."
Omni looked at Azure quizzically. "So... would you be coming to my club later?"
"Asking me or Azure?" Mere questioned lightly, smiling.
"You of course." he looked down at the critter that had found itself cradled in his arms. "It's just a pet, a novelty." He was absently petting said novelty.
"I'd be honored to come. Any particular style dress?" She glanced at Azure who burbled.
"It's a club." He tossed out. "Dress to dance or party." He was planning on the leather pants and silk shirt outfit. He hadn't quite decided if he would add the corset to it or not.
Meredith hummed, chewing her lip thoughtfully for a moment.
"Alright. I may have a few outfits that'll work. Shall I meet you there or will you escort me?"
"Well I have to open the club so either you meet me there or we have to go early."
"I don't mind going early." Meredith responded. "Heck. I'll even help if you need the extra hands."
Omni nodded. "Very well then. I was just heading out to finish some last minute things, then I'll come and pick you up for the opening."
She glanced around and shrugged. "Alright. I shall be ready by then." Mere smiled.
"Okay." Omni pulled out a new silk shirt to wear.
She leaned forward and kissed his cheek. "Let me vamoose and so you can get changed in private."
Omni was in the middle of changing. "Oh… not really necessary but whatever makes you comfortable." It was just his shirt
Mere shrugged faintly. "I didn't want to make you uncomfortable. Not a lot of people would want a sibling of the opposite gender sitting around as they changed." ~Even though...it's nothing I haven't seen on my own person before....~
"Well I haven't had a sibling of any sort to worry about. Though I've never been shy about my body. Personally I think it's a very nice one."
She laughed softly. "Well it's good to hear you are comfortable in your own body." Mere looked down at her feet.
"I am comfortable with me. With every little bit of me."
"So you've had physical relationships before?"
"Oh yes." Omni said with a smile. "It's a very enjoyable pasttime."
Mere lapsed back into thoughtful silence, a small sense of sadness lingering around her.
He paused and looked at her. "Something is bothering you." He tilted his head. "It is because you are a virgin?" He had to assume since he had been talking about sex.
"What? You are an attractive woman. After all you almost look like a female me."
"Almost..." She sighed softly. "The face is pretty enough though other things would deter people of either gender from wanting me...21st century humans are simply...too narrow minded."
"So find something other than a 21st century human." He said easily. He hadn't stayed with just humans after all. He pulled out a corset. "Too much do you think?" he asked her.
Meredith looked up at him and shook her head. "No. It'll look nice."
Omni started lacing it up. "I'm sure the crop or whip would be too intimidating for a first night." He tossed out with a smile. "So... haven't you found someone or something to play with on your travels with the Doctor?"
"Just a little. Though cuffs on the belt loops would be enticing enough without being too intimidating." Mere lightly brushed his hands away and took over the lacing. "The few times I got to travel we went to safe planets. Mostly populated by humans. Saw a few interesting people but no one I really wanted...and after my boyfriend..." She fell quiet. "Well it doesn't matter." She stepped back. "There you are. Done."
Omni twisted testing the feel. "Nice, Exactly the right tension." He tilted his head and examined her. "What happened with this boyfriend. And don't say it doesn't matter because obviously it does."
"My body disgusted him." She answered simply before trying to change the subject. "I have some knowledge in wearing corsets properly." Mere curtsied, smiling.
"How could that possibly be?" Omni asked. She was magnificent, especially by human standards. He wasn't too distracted, not with the emotions he felt from that declaration.
The smile slipped and she shrugged. "Most people prefer their lovers to be one gender and one gender only." Meredith scrubbed her face. "God. I'm a fool. I shouldn't of even asked the question to being with."
Omni looked at her for a moment until everything clicked. "Ignorent judgemental humans." He growled out disgusted. He hadn't exactly been raised to think very much of them in the first place. Then he told her. "I could name half a dozen planets and people who would see you as a goddess without even thinking hard." He sighed. "It's just your bad fortune to be stuck at a backwards planet of violent idiots."
"They are a young species." Meredith tried to defend. "They'll learn." She sighed. "Doesn't matter I suppose."
Omni had a dark look on his face. "You are a Timelord." He stated sternly. "He should have been on his knees in gratitude that you even bothered to remember his name."
"Time lord… Most of Earth don't even know about the Doctor or the Master. They go about their lives ignorant of the other species that surround them. To him I was a human. Then a freak of nature."
"You are NOT a freak." That title was reserved for her father. "I'll take you traveling some day, show you all the wonders that the Doctor and the Master might avoid. Someplace away from those ... humans."
Meredith was quiet for a moment. "You'd really want to travel with me? Some one raised by Torchwood."
"What's Torchwood to me?" He knew some of them were friends with the Doctor, but this was his sister. "I think I would enjoy having you about." And showing her around.
She seemed to relax and step closer to the Omni. Mere took his hand and squeezed it. "Thank you."
"Thank me when you see the wonders I have to share with you." Omni said.
"I can see a few of them. In your mind's eye. The ones that impressed you the most."
Omni turned around to look at her. He had his shields up. "How do you do that?" He reached out for her with his own mind.
"I don't know...It just feels natural. Like the path is there already." Her own mental shields came up for a moment in a natural response to the intrusion before fading like smoke as if recognizing who it was.
He stepped closer to her as he entered her own mind easily without even having to touch her. Then he stumbled as a connection snapped stronger into place.
She gasped softly. ~What are you doing ?~
~I wasn't trying to DO anything~ He replied instinctually. ~This... strange, I've never done something like this before. But it feels so ... natural.~
Mere nodded faintly. ~I've only spoke like this with Daddy. Even then I have to work for it. But with you...~ She reached out and touched his cheek with the barest tips of her fingers.
Omni gasped at the touch. ~Father let me in his mind when I was younger~ He remembered the comforting sound of drums that always lived in his father's mind. It was soothing to him because it meant he was in contact with the man who loved and cared for him. ~And he showed me how to make contact but I could never do it without touching the temples. This... this is like home.~
~Daddy was the one who taught me to use my ability. I could pick up fragments and strong thoughts without touching...but to talk like this...I had to have some sort of contact.~ Mere studied the face that was so much like her own. Where her Daddy was the sound of ocean waves and the feel of strong, wool covered arms surrounding her...Omni was the throb of the piano, the feel of silk surrounding her.
He didn't much care for her comments about her daddy but figured she didn't much care for his about his father either. Both of them had issues with the other's parent. ~I never heard thoughts... but emotions and desires would swamp me until I learned to deal with them~
~An Empath? Where I'm a telepath...Do you have any other abilities?~ She mentally touched the connection binding them with care.
~I don't think father knows...~ He doubted SHE would tell him. It just wasn't something he mentioned to his father. Somehow he felt the man would not approve. ~He does know that I... am a lot like him. I can influence people to do what I want."
She laughed softly. ~Better second then mine.~ Meredith tilted her head. ~What's wrong with being an Empath?~
~What is your second?~ He replied curiously. Then he shrugged. ~I don't really KNOW that there's anything wrong... just a feeling I have.~ Maybe because empaths could feel emotions so much, his father might think him unlikely to want to stay loyal? That he might let those things he felt from others to influence him?
Mere pulled him into hug, almost snuggling. ~If I concentrate I can catch glimpses of the future...well the most likely future.~ She breathed a soft sigh. ~He should trust you...even if you told him. I mean after all the years of feeling others pain and fear...and you still care so much for him and help him."
~He is my father.~ He replied as if that answered everything and it did for him. ~I'm sure it would be fine. I was young when I found out and children often worry about disappointing their parents. Now it's more of a matter that I haven't told him for so long~ And he didn't know how to explain that. ~Your second ability sounds marvelous and very useful.~
~I was the same way. Wanted to make my family proud.~ She pulled away slightly. ~I'd like to train it further but I don't know how.~
~Maybe father...~ then he sighed to himself. That wasn't likely. ~Have you talked to the Doctor about it?~ He asked instead.
"No." She answered out loud, leaning against Omni. "I haven't even told Daddy or Tad about it."
"Well he might be able to help." Omni said. Then he checked the time. "I have to go now. I'll be back later tonight."
Mere nodded and pulled away. She winced and straightened his shirt. "Sorry."
Omni smoothed out the silk. "No worries. I'm still gorgeous."
Meredith snorted and laughed softly. She gave a slight nod. "See you in a bit big brother."
"See you soon." He said and started out, then stopped and handed her Azure. "Almost forgot."
Mere chuckled and took the critter and set him on her shoulder. "Oh...Omni? Have fun. I'll be ready when you get back." She smiled and slipped by him, barely making a sound as she left.
