Showdown in the Common Room
Lily ran up to the common room, brandishing her wand. Now all that remained of this stupid charade was to deal with James Potter. Sure, those new kids were involved too, but Harry didn't seem very willing and Hermione, well, fitting in new schools was hard and if someone like James was nice to you maybe you'd do things you normally wouldn't.

But James, oh James. His stupid lies and his stupid... face and stupid everything. The sad thing was it worked. She had that one conversation with him and now he kept guilt tripping her with accidentally killing Harry. It wasn't like she had done anything terribly stupid, but she still chided herself. Plus, it was his fault Severus wasn't talking to her.

The door burst open dramatically, and she hoped James was in there when she started yelling. "James Potter!"

James fell off the couch (on which he had been sitting and reading a guide to pranks). Lily was yelling at him. This left a few possibilities:

1) She had decided she loved him and was running into his arms.
2) She wanted to accept his proposal.
3) She wanted to kill him.

One look told him it was number three. "Uh, yes?" He asked, taking his wand out behind his back--just in case.

"I can't believe you'd make up such a farfetched story and expect me never to catch on! If this is the only way you could think of that I'd be with you, you might as well give up now. Making up a story about the future is possibly the most desperate thing anyone has ever done."

She approached closer and readied her wand. "Aguamenti!" She sent insane amounts of water hurtling at him.

	A drenched James Potter turned to her, shocked. Fortunately, only the three of them were in the common room right now. "You think I'm lying about that? 	"Well, we should at least be honored she thinks we're brilliant enough to make up a story like that." She thought about apologizing to Sirius, since he usually stayed out of James's attempts to win her over, but she was to angry right now to consider it. "Half the school? You mean your best friend and the new people you suckered into your plan? Really, Potter, I don't know how you do it."

She walked closer still and stood hovering over him with her wand pointed at his chest.

	"What? I didn't sucker the new kids!" He said, standing up and backing away from her wand. James took out his own wand and pointed it at her. "You trust Remus, don't you? 	"You talked to Remus, remember? You could have said anything! And I've only talked to Hermione, who you talked to before I did, the polyjuice, remember? And Harry, who is in your dorm and seems nervous half the time anyway." She waved her wand a little for emphasis, knowing that she was far more willing to use it than he was. She wasn't listening to reason.

"But he looks like me, acts like you, has your eyes, and knows...oh, every single detail about you! Don't you think that's weird? Plus, why would I make up your death?" Then James's eyes widened. Oh...she was in denial! That made more sense.

"I know the situation is insane, but what set you off like this?" He asked, backing up again. He didn't want to hex her...he really didn't.

Parvati was trying to study upstairs, she'd found that keeping to herself seemed to be the best way to stay out of trouble and out of the way at the moment. Lately she seemed to have trouble concentrating even under the best of circumstances, but with all the yelling going on, it was hopeless.

With a sigh she slammed her book closed and started down the stairs to the common room to see what was going on.

She entered the room on the heels of Sirius' last comment and remarked, "Well, if they didn't know before, I'm sure they do now."
