Threshold

Harry stands at the threshold of Sirius' bedroom. His gaze burns and a familiar ache flares inside Sirius. It's the knot in his stomach, the yearning that tightens his chest; it's the way Sirius' skin sings for contact.

"No" is on the tip of his lips when Harry steps inside. "No" rolls around his mouth and over his tongue as Harry climbs onto the bed, one knee after the other. His knees trap Sirius' thighs together, and "No" is lost with Sirius' thick swallow.

Harry stares down at him; his gaze burns. And all Sirius can do is say, "Yes."
