Time for another event in Grey Haven! The town has been plastered with posters for a good week, but now that the Gehenna Music Festival is officially starting? It looked very much like an ad company has swept through the town and drenched the place. There are banners on every lamppost, a flyer in every nook and cranny, and every hotel, bed and breakfast, lodge and resort are booked to the rafters. While the normal residents are just annoyed, the supernatural residents are wary: it's the first vampire summit in two decades, and after how badly things went last year, folks are just hoping to make it through unscathed.

Those in the vampire community (or with access to intel about the vampire community, like the Hunters) know that Vampire Queen Matilda Praetorian will be making her big speech tomorrow night, and everyone is abuzz with gossip about her passing the torch to her spoiled childe, Audrey Spencer. Not everyone is very thrilled with this idea, but nobody is going to argue with one of the two oldest vampires in existence. And that's where the even more worrying rumours come in: Vampire King Hiram Praetorian, Matilda's estranged brother, has made his return and intends to attend the summit.

So! There's a lot going on, and lots for you guys to play around with! Both Hiram and Matilda will be spending today/tonight just stalking around town as NPCs, which means they're both available for your characters to bump into. There's another shady character or two floating around, but for now, they're laying low...

Hullo All! Crys here with my second char!

This is Jinx (or Alex if you insist on using a real grownup name). She's a snarky, distant geeky girl with a fixation on vampires and a great fantasy life. She's a free lance programmer who's recently arrived in Grey Haven due to some vampire council she's heard about. She's got a yucky disease she doesn't want to live with anymore and blahblahblah. It's always so hard to sum up a character in these things.

She'd love to meet vamps around town to obsess over and try to convince to turn her... She'd also love to meet others to play video games with, tabletop with, and generally hang out discussing their magic decks and latest exploits on WoW/Diablo III/LoL or whatever.

HELLO I am back from the dead! But not really. In reality, I am just really bad at life in general and so have come back to ask for your forgiveness. Also apologies. I am done with finals and school for the summer, so I will be slowly going back and maybe replying to old posts in the comms. And maybe continue spamming the OOC comm with gifs...because that's what I do!

So! Does anyone want an extra helping of Ying?! Because she wants you. (Also if you are kind enough to update me on what has been going on, that is fine, too.)

BB here with character number five.

This is Aggie. She's a werewolf and a hunter. She was a werewolf first but as the clan's omega she was abused by her peeps pretty badly. When an attractive, older man appeared to take an interest in her she kinda fell for him. She was in her teens at the time and he was in his late twenties so he saw her and still sees her as a kid sister type. Also, by take an interest in her, I mean he was a hunter gathering intel on her pack to assess what kind of threat they posed. Once the pack found out about the hunter and Aggie, George (none other than Beth's patrols) found out exactly what kind of threat they could pose. Thankfully, Aggie and George got away.

For her trouble, George got Aggie a job as a hunter. Their skill sets compliment each other so they've pretty much worked as partners ever since and have been called into Grey Haven to provide extra muscle.

Hey all, I'm so, so very sorry that I disappeared immediately after joining. Long story short, life critted me over 9000 and it was a lot less than fun. Things are wobbling unsteadily back onto their track now though and I would love to get involved with all of you lovely people in some marvelous RP.

Mod Kelly here, with another character to toss into the mix! Gilly Shoat here is a Rawhead and Bloody Bones who's been taken advantage of as a both a living home security system and a trespasser body disposal unit. She was recently rescued from her life of servitude by a Broker & Guild raid on her owners establishment, and she's been brought to Grey Haven in the hopes that she can be rehabilitated. One Tom Reed may or may not be tapped to foster her! Though she won't be immediately available to interact with, once she's settled in with Tom, she'll definitely be out and about, exploring Grey Haven and getting into trouble. Check her bio for more personal information: otherwise, you can find out when your characters interact with her!

Looks like I won't be here this afternoon/evening until around 11ish at night (CST), because I'm going to MEDIEVAL TIMES for my birthday! And apparently my husband called ahead to tell them its my birthday so.... idk, I may be somehow picked out. I've never been to Medieval Times so, yeah.

Anyway! I wanna know who wants to play. I'm up for anything, with any of my puppets here. Sadie is still unnerved by her encounter with Wilbur and is in a generally nervous/sour mood. Jaden is coming out of her shell socially (which may not be a good thing for some people, but should be fun anyway), and as always, Barnaby and Willa would love some plot.

Hi folks. BB here. This is character number four.

Meet Mneme (pronounced: NEE-MEE). She's a muse, or a succubus, depending on your point of view. A lot of the inspiration for her creature type was inspired from the Sandman comics, which you can see a bit of here. Muses have to be careful that they're not hunted down for being evil sex-death monsters or used for their ability to give sometimes epic levels of inspiration and insight.

Mneme has spent most of her life around academics; philosophers, historians and some of the hard sciences. She's moved around a lot in order to cover up the fact that she never ages (not to mention the fact that she frequently feeds off her employers) so while it's not known if a muse has ever come to Grey Haven before, it wouldn't be the most unheard of thing ever.

Gah I have been HORRIBLE at being active in this RP, for which I apologize for!! I had this big group project that was 50% of my grade and man I had the worst partners ever for it, so jfdlkaadfa that was hours of my life I will never get back. However! I'm done with that!! So basically, what I'm asking is: would anyone like to have their characters harassed by Ying? I am up for anything, if only because I felt like I haven't had any fun for ages.

BB again with character number three. This is Mirah. Mirah is fae. More specifically, Mirah is a child thief. (Think Peter Pan or the Doctor from Doctor Who.) Mirah goes around and abducts young people to save them from growing old so they can have adventures all day long and never listen to anything anyone tells them to do ever.

As you can imagine, being a Lost Child is just not as fun as it sounds on paper. Mirah has lost a lot of companions over the ages and has finally come to Grey Haven to figure out what's so special about being human. She has no concept of money, responsibility or basic right from wrong. There's just fun and no-fun.

I have a feeling she'll start at the Lodge. If anyone wants to give her a job to see how many hours she lasts before she is fired, BE MY GUEST. If someone thinks their character is brave enough to be a guardian, I applaud their gusto! Hit me up for plot/lines.

Also, keep her away from your children. For srs. She might get ideas.

Time for the first major event to occur in Grey Haven! While you are not required to participate in major events, they will always effect your character in some way, so it’s to your benefit to be involved or at least keep informed!

Some very unpleasant people are going to start filtering into town, and while they will be harassing the Information Brokers first (look for the thread, which will be coming soon!), your characters are next! Our very own BB will be NPCing these nasty characters, so if you’re interested in being harassed by them, please post in this thread putting your hand up, or let the mods or BB know.

Soon after the harassment starts up, there will be an OPEN THREAD that will entail a large meeting at the Lodge for all supernaturals (and those friendly with supernaturals), informing them of what’s happening and what the Brokers plan to do about it. This particular event will be causing quite a bit of tension, and we’d really like to encourage everyone to feel free to take sides (you’ll see what sides pan out!) and participate. Once it kicks off, we’re looking at the event lasting a week in-game, but even when it’s resolved, there will be some lasting effects you may enjoy playing around with. We don't want to say much more and spoil it, but we're really looking forward to seeing how your characters react!

As of about 4 hours ago, I am officially free from school until August. OMG I'm crying from happiness. This semester has been a killer. I am ready to get my write on, now though because my visual art creativity is totally tapped right now.

Anyway tldr; who wants to play with these girls? Elisa (musicalgarden is the owner of the B&B and has been in town her whole life. Jane here is new and a bit of a shy chickadee. She's living at the B&B right now, but once she finds a job and stuff she'll probably find an apartment, too. Anyway, they could both use stuff and stuff.

This is CJ. He's a celestial. CJ has the least creative human name ever. It's more of a title, really, which probably stands for celestial justice or celestial justicar. He's pretty much a bad ass that throws down the law and carries messages.

For those of you who have characters not new to Grey Haven, people may have seen CJ passing through before. He doesn't introduce himself as supernatural, but he can't really help the fact that he carries himself like a robot and has the presence of the Dali Lama. It's really hard not to tell that there isn't something up with him.

While his previous visits have been brief, his plans this time are a little more long term in order to keep up with some of the town's new residents. He'll eat regularly at the Coffee Bean, the diner and go to BAR every night and nurse a single drink while reading philosophy or something. Basically he was sent here to stalk people.

Hallo! I'm Crys and it's lovely to meet you all.

I'm bringing in Naiya (Her real name is nigh unpronounceable unless you speak cetacean or cephalopod). She's a brand new arrival rather fresh off the truck, literally in fact. Don't ask what it's like to hitchhike from the coast of California when one is an octopus from the waist down. She's a Cecaelia, think of Ursula from The Little Mermaid but without the crazy, the info for her species is up in the bestiary now.

Naiya is a little disillusioned with her own kind, her own society at the moment and is very interested in learning more about what it's like to be a human. She's the type of person who doesn't talk about her problems. She's shy but friendly and has a tendency to be bubbly and bouncy when she's feeling comfortable in her surroundings.

At the moment she's staying at the Lodge, which is probably good since she's still trying to get her Land Legs in more ways than one. Which means that at the moment, while nimble and dexterous, she's quite clumsy.
