| Winging It An original sci-fi game centered around the fledgling crew of a stranded ship. If you're a fan of Firely, Battlestar Galatica and anything of that nature you will find a lot of similar information, images, names etc. Winging It is a mix up of them all. Due to the nature of this game there are only 8 spots at the moment. INFO ON THE WORLD; map of the system The System is made up a number of planets, each having been tera formed by the Alliance. The Alliance however have lost control over the outter planets their grasp on them slipping as they tried to control them more and more. The planets on the Rim have been lost to the Alliance was individuals take up leadership on each - it's a rough place, a lawless place where anything goes. Especially when those from beyond the Rim come to play. No one can hear you screaming in space. The Londinum Academy was set up in 239. Ten years after Terra forming Londinum. The main reason to be able to have fully qualified staff as they went through the system they had carefully chosen and Tera formed each planet or moon they came too. At first it was much like a university teaching quite a number of subjects. It wasn't until the outter edges of the System they had so carefully chosen that they found trouble and it was due to this trouble that the Londinum Fleet Academy was set up. The trouble came in the form of heavily armed ships not of Alliance source, ships which once the Tera Forming teams had finished came in and took over. The Fleet was brought in to protect the teams and for a while they were able to keep hold of a few of the outer rim planets. They soon lost them though to those known as the Others. Most enroll at the fleet between the ages of 18 and 23. They spend three years on Londinum. In the first year all students are taught the basics in all subjects from piloting, to navigation, to weapons and mechanics. They're considered "Jacks" as in "Jack of all trades." From here the students pick their chosen career path. While it isn't necessary it is possible to take up a 'secondary' subject as well as their main. The option for this is given to only a handful in each year generally. The second year is a time of intense training and only half who join up stay the whole hog. If after that year they wish to continue they go on to yet another year. The third year in most cases is much more hands on and you are generally taken into the field much more. For their fourth and final year those who have passed their third years are divided into groups of twelve - at least one student of each subject to a group. They're given a vessel and co-ordinates which they must find, once at the co-ordinates they are given the jump co-ordinates and they are able to 'jump' to the main ship - The Tera which is stationed at the edge of the Boarder Planets. PLOT; However for one ship - The Ghost - the 'jump' went a little array and it dumps them far from home, a little shaken and worse for wear. The little rag tag group of 21 to 26 year olds suddenly finds themselves the crew of The Ghost and stranded far from home. The jump ( the ability to travel vast distances in a matter of a second ) was off and now they're very, very unsure where they actually are. The jolt of the jump going wrong knocked quite a bit out of the small vessel so it'll take a little while to get it completely up and running smoothly. The Ghost isn't meant for long haul flights, its a quick flick from here to there. Will its current occupants find a home in the cozy little ship? Will they be able to trust each other after having only spent a couple of days together? What about when They start hunting them? Will they be able to defend themselves and make it home in one piece? INFO ON THE GHOST; exterior Upper Deck Lower Deck When thinking of the actual ship take a liberty or two ok? They're just something to go off, nothing concrete. The viper deck is in the belly of the ship and runs from front to back, it is below the cargo hold. There are two raptors and three vipers with this ship. The cargo hold is currently filled with large black crates. Supplies for the Tera. The crates are secured and can only open when the correct authorization code is put into the keypad found on each one. No one knows what is inside the crates. THE CREW; Key; U : Dead. See comments. title : NPC'd title : taken. U The Deck Master; The Deck Master is trained in both navigation and the ability to fly the ship. While their knowledge in both isn't as advanced in either subjects they could work to an acceptable level. They are trained in the use of the systems and are able to work with the Mechanic - sending any errors with the systems their way. Second in command to the Commander, running the administrative needs of the ship. Jennifer Knight. 24. Died in the initial jump from a blow to the head. The Pilot; ...flies the ship. The Mechanic; Makes sure everything is in working order with both the ship and any raptors or vipers on board. Has a working knowledge of the systems. The Technician; Works along side the mechanic but while they fix the engines or really physical errors the Technician works with the systems. The Navigator; Plots courses and jumps as well as looks out for any enemies or anything in their path. The Medic; Makes sure everyone is in working order. The Ambassador; Speaks many languages and often skilled in barter and peace talks. Not all of the planets are as civilized as Londinum. U The Weapons Master; Weapons specialist. Vittoria Wilp. 28. The jump caused a malfunction within one of the few exposives on board. Unlucky for Vittoria she was in the immediate vicinity and was hit by the expolosion. Luckily the expolosion was somewhat contained. The Raptor Pilot; Specializes in flying the raptors, reconnaissance / scout ships. U The Raptor's eyes; Also known as an ECO. Works close with the Raptor pilot, using scanners and other equipment on them. Gabriel Munck. 26. Injured by the initial jump. Found in his bunk unconcious, unlikely to survive. POSSIBLE TO BE PICKED UP IF YOU WISH. U The Viper Pilot; Specializes in flying the vipers, small attack and defence ships. Steven Connelly. 21. Viper Pilot. Killed in the initial jump. He was trapped beneath a viper which moved from its position. The Viper Pilot; Same as above.</i> NPCS; Sally - The AI computer System, named thus by Beatrix Munroe. Voice activated system which controls certain systems. Has AI and Computer version. AI version is very human and is able to hold some sembalence of conversation. It's very sarcastic and often quite witty. Oh and it's male. Jennifer Knight; The Deck Master. 24. Died in the initial jump from a blow to the head. Steven Connelly; Viper pilot. 21. Viper Pilot. Killed in the initial jump. He was trapped beneath a viper which moved from its position. Vittoria Wilp; Weapons Master. 28. The jump caused a malfunction within one of the few exposives on board. Unlucky for Vittoria she was in the immediate vicinity and was hit by the expolosion. Luckily the expolosion was somewhat contained. Gabriel Munck; The Raptor's Eyes. 26. Injured by the initial jump. Found in his bunk unconcious, unlikely to survive.</i> POSSIBLE TO BE PICKED UP IF YOU WISH. STARING POINT; The Jump was to take place at 1200. Whether it was a malfunction with the systems or an error on the Navigators part they jumped at 11:52. It's been a good few hours since the jump, you wake up on the floor, knocked by the blast and probably out for a good while. Outside the windows is...nothing, no planets, no familiar stars. Worry sets in and then a call over the intercom system calls you to the main deck where you find the others. INITIAL SHIP DAMAGE; One Viper has moved from its stand, crushing the viper pilot Steven. The viper itself is damaged and has hit the one beside it. One is unusable. The Raptor appears fine, though it has been jerked toward the wall. The explosion in the weapons room was contained due to their casements the ammo arrives in and has caused little unrepairable damage. Most of the systems are down and it is about to get very, very cold. |
