He is savage now, as he has never been before. His teeth are ravenous at her lips and throat; his tongue laps and laves as though to taste every nuance of her skin, every subtle note of her sweat. His hands are rough on her shoulders, pinning her down like a captured beast of prey. His words in her ear are growled, not whispered. His amber eyes seem to scorch her where their gaze falls upon her.

His ferocity calls to her. Silvery, her innate nature courses through her blood; in her heart’s pounding she can hear the beating of wings. She fancies that her mouth, as it nips at him, is a falcon’s cruel beak. Her hands, where they meet his flesh, burn with primal fire. She rises to meet him with a fierceness she has never known before, in their gentler couplings.

A cloud passes over the serene face of the moon. His caress turns tender, sweet. She meets his eyes, wondering. His eyes are brown now, not golden, and they are full of love.

The pampered French debutante in her melts, smiles.

The veela in her fumes, grits her teeth, hopes the cloud will pass soon.
