Victor/Apollo and Melanie/Artemis
Who: Victor/Apollo and Melanie/Artemis[OPEN]
When: Evening
Where: Akrotiri in Kalamaki
Rating: [tbd]
Status: [in-progress... and open!]

The music was playing, thumping beat of the bass slightly reverberating through the building, and people were dancing on a small dancefloor not too far off. Victor sipped his usual, Crown and Sprite, watching the crowds, enjoying himself thoroughly, smiling at words whispered in his ear, sweet Greek accent he'd come to enjoy clearly evident.

"Call me..."

It was barely a whisper, more breathed into his ear than anything else, but he heard it clear as crystal. He felt soft fingers press a small piece of paper into his palm, before the curvaceous blonde kissed him and started to leave. She turned once she reached the entrance and he raised his glass at her, smirking as he saw her smile, then blow another kiss at him.

He pocketed the digits and made a mental note to call her in a couple of days.

He checked his watch, wondering at the time, and wondering likewise if any of the others from the journals might show. He had come early on this night, having found that this particular venue tended to be conducive toward experiences he found... well, satisfactory, to say the very least. It was nearing nine o'clock.

Victor's mouth opened and shut several times, surprise clearly evident in his features. "Er... 54 seconds, too," he said, clearly amazed at the coincidence. He nodded, listening as she described her experience with the marathon, his own sports experiences very parallel to hers. Indeed, he had always noted he had an aptitude for physical activity, and could not quite explain it, but now, seeing someone who seemed to share the same thing, was an explanation really necessary? He thought not.

Her hand at his shoulder felt natural, as though it belonged there, for some reason. He could feel a tingle there, where she was touching him, a rush of sensations and images coming to him in a flash, a mere fragment of a second. Golden, glistening bow, hunting carefully, blonde hair blowing in the wind, taking aim...

He could feel his heart lighten, skip a beat, almost, though the implications that came with that were not quite right. He was elated, content in the possibility that she, too, was part of the peculiar situation surrounding the journals. Her particular emphasis on the word magical made it feel all the better. This was not romance, not the sort of thing smutty escapades were made of; this was different, a sort of sibling-like quality, familiar, best-friends thing, if you will.

"Apparently journals showing up like magic, housewarming gifts is a common trend in this town," he said, grinning at her. He took another cookie, enjoying it, clearly. "What is your favorite kind of cookie?" he asked, an apparent non-sequitor.

"Amazing.." Melanie thought that she had thought the word, but it managed to escape her lips and there was no getting around it. For a moment, the smile on her lips faded away, but it make back quickly. "That is kinda slow for a guy you know." Once again she nudged his arm with her elbow, but something happened that didn't before. A rush of images flooded her mind for a few seconds. A brilliant light came from him, a golden bow held in his hands, a bow like hers, that smile that banished any inkling of doubt from her mind...

It was gone. The moment was too short and she almost wanted to weep. Tears were starting to burn the corner of her eyes, and she had to turn her head away from him. Why was it that she suddenly became so emotional that her heart hurt worse than it ever had before? For a few seconds, she held the breath that was in her lungs, soothing herself before she turned to him with that smile once more on her face.

"Not very nice housewarming gifts, if I must say so myself." Melanie took one of the cookies from her bag and nibbled on it a little. "Well, these kind are my favorite.. Dark chocolate walnut.."

Victor raised a brow, laughing. "I'm okay with being unimpressive. I sleep better at night," he said, trying to shake this feeling he was getting around her. More accurately, it was like a set of feelings, a scope of things on which he did not have a good handle. He felt like he knew her, and quite well, at that, better than anyone, but he... knew that he didn't.

He looked at her closely, concerned when she'd looked away, something instinctive telling him above all else that she was emotional. He had the distinct urge to hold her, to comfort her, but held himself back, and was quite glad he did.

"No, not at all." He nodded, watching her still. "I um... used to like white chocolate macadamia best, of all the ones I had tried, but now..." his voice trailed off slightly, disbelief at the small pieces coming together. "Your cookies are the best I've ever had." And it was not an overstatement, at all. "Do you... well, I hate to be repetitive, but this is going to sound strange... have you mentioned the cookies in your journal?" He swallowed, hard, looking at her.

These feelings that she was having - these things there were sent in her very foundation, telling her that she knew him and that he somehow knew her. Why was it like this though? Two complete strangers feeling a strange connection that is normally shared with close siblings. The more that Melanie thought about it, the more she wanted to know if he felt the same way. She couldn't bring herself to asking him.

"I am happy that you are able to sleep at night. I would hate to worry about you not getting your beauty sleep." Melanie grinned and leaned against him some before sitting up straight again and looking to the side. Clearing her throat some, she turned to him and smiled.

"I am happy that I have been able to persuade you to the dark side.." Melanie started to wring her hands together in an evil way - much like Artemis use to when she was plotting plagues to place upon the mortal world. "Yes, I had mentioned them in my journal, but it was to a comment that someone else had made.." Melanie raised one of her perfectly sculpted eyebrows and turned to him once more.
