He could only nod in agreement at what she said. Maybe she wasn’t as pessimistic as he had thought. Perhaps she was just waiting for that perfect romance, the one you just –knew-, at least that was the impression he was getting. He had no reason to argue against what she said. He more or less felt the same way, which is the reason he hadn’t been in too many relationships.
Still, he wondered if it would only be a matter of time before she would change her tune. He couldn’t be sure though. This only made him more interested to learn about her. He opened his mouth to ask her a question, then paused. He did not want to seem nosy, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him. “Have you ever...experienced this kind of love, or at least thought you had?” Normally he wouldn’t ask someone he didn’t know this kind of question. Now that he thought of it, he didn’t even know here name. This was completely natural though. If some stranger had walked in the store, they could have assumed that him and her had grown up together and were arguing a point that had been brought up more than once.
