Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
The conversation with [info]slobodian went a little like this. "I'm thinking of join --" "BRING ZOE SALDANA" and the rest was history. I'm hoping to fill a line that fell through for Ryan, which means this character would have briefly flirted with the adult entertainment industry. I'd like to think her tapes were a little better than the infamous Paris Hilton escapades, though. No poor camera angles or night vision here! Not that I've seen those videos or anything.

Loretta Wendler, née Dalton, was adopted by a rich family in Austin. She was spoiled rotten as a child and it kind of shaped who she grew up to be. As a teenager she was "popular" but didn't have any true friends. She and Ryan didn't interact much until they were paired together for a class project, and somehow a relationship began to form. When she turned 18 her parents realized the error of their ways, as Lor had never held a job and had little intentions of going to college. When they cut her off she briefly turned to pornography as a means of being rebellious, but quickly realized it wasn't for her. She eventually met and married a wealthy older man who was perfectly content to take care of her. The relationship took her to New York, where things quickly soured. Her husband turned abusive, and she has recently returned to Texas with her tail between her legs.

Presently, she's looking to turn her life around and learn to stand on her own two feet. She used the alimony to buy a little place and is looking for a job. So if any of you have positions you need filled, she's your girl! I should warn you, though. Her intentions are good but she's a little inept at this whole ... responsibility thing. It's going to take her some time to figure out what it takes to be a mature adult, as she's been taken care of by others for a large portion of her life. Old friends, new friends, red friends, blue friends. Any and all storylines are welcome!

It's going to be great to have his chocolate bear around.

He likes his women the same way he likes his coffee. Tall, dark and with a spoon in them! Although I imagine Amelia would kill Ryan if he put anything in Lor these days

Ignore the off-color quoting of Eddie Izzard. We need a connection, y/y?

I suppose they would have known each other from school. Amelia was into sports. I wouldn't say she was necessarily "popular" in school. She has seen the movies, so she knows about that. And well, it wasn't pretty.

Oh god. Things are about to get dramatic up in here! It might be safe to assume the ladies might not like each other much? That being said, it's probably obvious how much Amelia means to Ryan. Lor would try to get along with her, even in spite of any girlfriend vs girl-who-is-a-friend tensions that might arise.

Probably, but lucky for him he's not interested in putting anything in anyone but Amelia.

Lor should tease him about being whipped all the time. She gets to be best man at the wedding, right?

She can stop referring to him by name and just make a cracking whip sound instead.

She's going to make him a mix tape. All Whip it, all the time. He'll cherish it forever, right?

If by 'cherish' you mean 'set on fire', then yes. He'll cherish it forever.

If she needs a job, Emily here manages a horse ranch that could use a few more employees.

That might have amazing potential. Lor isn't exactly in a position to be picky about jobs, but the thought of shoveling manure would definitely make her cringe. And having a female for a boss would eliminate her ability to flirt her way out of doing anything she doesn't want to!

Haha, yep! It's a pretty male-dominated workplace, but Emily will make sure that Lor stays focused and does what she's supposed to do.

So that's a big N-O on sweetly convincing the stable boys to do the nastier chores for her? Damnation!

I'm liking this idea already. Lor might hate the hard labor, but at the end of the day would probably have a sense of respect for Emily.

Not that Robert would ever support the way her ex treated her, He may have known him or worked for him at the Trust Company if they met in Austin, or maybe his family knows the other guys family. Could lead to something interesting, if not just some angsty avoidance on her part.

That would actually be pretty damn awesome. It could be awkward and angsty if her husband and Robert had been on rather fond, friendly terms so when she comes back she doesn't want to ruin Robert's opinion of her husband by letting on that be was an absuive prick behind the scenes. Though I imagine Robert might be curious as to why they divorced, otherwise? Leading into the avoidance part :)
