Since I know I'm going to have too much time (even more so) on my hands after I finish some WIP projects at the moment, how many votes are there for me to start up a comic review/database journal of all the comics that The Joker has appeared in? For both story arcs and the one-shot cameos/flashbacks?
I've been collecting and reading comics for years, I do NOT download and read shitty online torrents. I've lost count of how many comics I own now, but it's somewhere around the 300-450 mark. An estimated guess. Since I've got about 27 comics to arrive in the mail currently; there's always about 10-25 comics bought every two weeks, and this has been going on for about seven or so years now, so there's an idea of how many I have =D
My reviews/database collection will be very simple and not biased. That is to say, I won't be writing 600 million word essays on each and every comic; why bother buying the comic to read it if a reviewer is going to be providing analytical essays and scans of the comic? The reviews will be explaining his role in each individual comic, the summary of the comic's storyline (so it would not be a spoiler or an essay: comics don't have blurbs for a reason.), plus general opinions on the writing and the art.
This is because one person may not like a certain artist or writer's style, whilst another person might; so my reviews won't say something like This comic has A+++ art because it's just so damn awesome/sexy/etc!!shifteleventy@12!. Instead, I'll be describing how the writing/art style is, and leave it up to the reader if they think they'll like it or not. Reviews become pointless if it's just fanboying I love this comic so go out and buy it! without any real substance or depth into how well and why it's been done that way.
So what's the votes? Anybody interested in following the database journal? I'm quite happy with answering questions and discussions on any particular comic's entry via comments; the review themselves will remain 'opinion and spoiler free' at best, if that makes any sense. =D Readers are warned of course that said comments MAY reveal spoilers about that comic's story arc, but that goes without saying. I don't know if the journal should be flocked or public, only because the majority of Batman comics deals with murder, rape, drugs, and other things not suitable for minors.
