Reid finds a birthday present sitting on his desk, placed there when Sy left for his morning run. It's in a plain brown box, unwrapped because Sy didn't have any wrapping paper on hand, and there's no card because Sy is terrible at birthday cards. But the "WAINWRIGHT" written in marker in the top-right corner of the box is obviously Sy's writing.

Inside the box is a brand-new pair of Quidditch goggles, specifically tailored to the needs of a Seeker. There are charms for deflecting rain and snow, reducing glare from the sun, and providing as much clarity and sharpness of vision as is approved by League standards. The leather padding and band is charmed to be extra comfortable, and never slip. There's a tiny Golden Snitch engraved beside the left goggle, and RPW engraved beside the right.

	Reid knows he and Sy are both bad at sentimental but this makes Reid experience several emotions. Sy has to endure a very sincere and awkwardly worded thank you. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Sy tries to escape the room when he sees Reid coming. Reid is too quick. "Don't you fuckin' dare," Sy says. Because Reid is a contrary asshole, he starts saying thank you anyway. In an attempt to stop this, Sy gives Reid a one-armed hug. "Shut the fuck up," Sy orders. In order to preserve their manliness, Sy immediately suggests they go punch a tree. (Reply to this) (Parent)
