Sakura looked up at the white ceiling, her body tense and tears in her eyes.

"Everything seems to be looking just fine, Haruno-san," the doctor smiled gently and pulled down her hospital gown before leaving the room.

Fine? How could everything be fine? Nothing would ever be fine again... Was her last thought before burying her head in her hands and crying.

Looking down at the infant in her arms, its green eyes blinking up at her, Sakura had to fight back her tears. The joy of holding her child in her arms got clouded by her thoughts of what would have been her firstborn.

"Was it you?" she whispered to baby. A huge smile and tiny arms that reached for her seemed to answer her question.

Humming a lullaby she couldn't help but thinking back six years. What if she had been stronger, what if she had dared taking that risk, what if...? Her life was full of what ifs and even tough she was happy now she just couldn't forget.

With a content but sad smile she looked up at the sky.

"Happy birthday..."
