Where: The Tibbits household
What: The talk o' doom!
Rating: low to moderate, depending on how much language is involved
Jacob was not looking forward to this. What had Alfie been thinking?! He was barely fourteen! Part of him got it. Knew that Emma was right. Alfie was young, he wanted to experiment, feel more grown up. Still, hadn't he and Emma been open with him? Told him to come to them before he made choices like this? It was his fault, he should have been watching more closely, been more communicative with his son.
It was the same problem with Lexie. It killed him that he knew she was a joke to that boy and he couldn't do anything about it. Hadn't he been laughing with his friend just the other day about it? Then Lexie goes and gets drunk and like the utterly stand up guy he is, he takes advantage of it. It took serious restraint on Jacob's part not to cut across town, drive to his house and wring his neck. But, unfortunately, that wouldn't solve anything.
He pulled into the driveway and sighed before mustering up the resolve to go inside. "Emma?" He called out, putting his things in the office and looking around for his family. He headed up the stairs to their room and fell on the bed. "So, I screwed up."
