Hey, everyone. Since we're officially open, I figured I'd get the 'introductory post' ball rolling. I'm Beth, and I'm one of the mods. I think most everyone knows me, but for those that I haven't met: hi! My CDJ is varekai and, while I'm terrible at posting anything interesting (though apparently I am good with the memes?), I'm always happy to friend people.
As usual, 'I'll just play one' turned into three alts, so I'll bullet-point them for brevity's sake.
Wanda Maximoff, Marvel Comics
→ Immigrant - if you ask her, she'll probably say 'Hungarian' and leave the 'Roma' part out. → Factory worker, formerly a spiritualist's assistant. The two women parted ways almost a year ago. Then the spiritualist (formerly a fraud) went and summoned something real and angry and died for her efforts. → Mostly Wanda just wants to stay out of trouble and go on with her life. It's not always possible. She is a begrudging contact of the Watcher's Council - Wanda's not really a member, but now that they're aware of her (and know that she's where the spiritualist 'partner' was getting her information), they've been known to knock on her door when they need something.
River Tam, Serenity
→ Her parents are industrialists. Not super-big-name industrialists, but they made a decent fortune in the steel industry. → Instead of a 'government academy,' River wound up one of Nathaniel Essex's test subjects. As in Firefly/Serenity, it did not go well and there were some unpleasant side-effects. → Otherwise, she's pretty close to canon - just translated back a few hundred years.
Anthony J. Crowley, Good Omens
→ Demon of the 'nearby hell' variety. Has undergone multiple name changes - 'Anthony' is new to his current host, but he's been using 'Crowley' for far longer. → Has been around humans for far too long, according to some of his fellow demons, and has developed an appreciation for various human cultures and inventions. He especially likes technology. → Possibly the worst demon ever, if the measure of demonic success is causing great agony. Crowley causes a lot of annoyance and possibly some anger, but agony? Too much effort for minimal results - Crowley likes to spread a thin layer of irritation to a large group of people. → Smooth-talker. Very bad at the malice, very good at talking his way out of trouble.
And that sums 'em up! I've already talked plot with a few people, but I am always up to talk more. I should be around this weekend, so please feel free to IM me.
