WHO: Open to All!
WHEN: Friday, October 28, 7 PM onward
WHERE: The palace
WHAT: Costume party extravaganza!
RATING: Who knoooows
Halloween was fun, but the best part was the costumes. Bianca loved dressing up in general, and getting to wear a full-on costume was rare. Halloween was a great occasion, and she'd put everything she had into this party. The queen had agreed to give her quite a few rooms of the palace to decorate. Security was tight, since it was open even to commoners, with stone-faced Blackcloaks all over the place, so it wouldn't be quite the scene of debauchery that Blaise's party had been, but Bianca hoped it would be fun in spite of an even greater lack of privacy than there was at most palace parties. She'd set up one long corridor as a haunted house; on one end was a small ballroom for dancing, with live music, and on the other, the food tables and bar were set up. There was, of course, a way to go around if one didn't want the experience of being frightened, but who wouldn't want that? It was a pitch-black hallway where thin veils of spiderwebs brushed against skin, voices whispered suddenly from unseen rooms, doors creaked, and occasional screams sounded; if one ventured into the side rooms, one might witness a murder - acted out, of course, not real - or be stalked through shelves of books in a private library by a silent, masked figure.
The rest of the decorations weren't so deliberately scary, of course, and neither was Bianca herself. She was a white swan, while Aurora was a black swan; her dress was floor-length, of course, all sparkles and feathers, with her golden hair falling in shining curls. Her white mask was painted on and glittered in the light as she greeted guests amiably at the door. There would be a costume contest later, with a box for voting set up against one wall, and of course no one would leave without a small bag of candy. It was Halloween!
