Andon Russell ([info]ar_) wrote in [info]galveston,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Capri ([info]cjagger) and Andon ([info]ar_)
What: Andon goes drinking; Capri appears.
Where: The Lounge
When: Monday night, May 30, around midnight.
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete; closed.

Nothing was working in his favor.  Everything started with the direction his team seemingly was heading in.  The Dallas Cowboys appeared worse than in previous seasons with one win through their first eight games in 2010.  While he led the league in sacks, the overall team's performance affected his mood following games, ultimately leading to the destruction of his relationship with Capri Jagger.  It was Christmas Night 2010, and the Cowboys had just lost to the Arizona Cardinals by one point.  Andon had been frustrated the entire game because it was difficult for him to get his hands on the quarterback; he did, however, in the end, record one sack.  It made his night, and he wanted to celebrate.  Several teammates and Andon spent well over $2,000 at the bar that night, capturing the attention of women willing to interact with professional athletes in exchange for fame and/or money.  Andon, having been intoxicated to point of disregarding his actions despite being well aware -- and with the incredibly beautiful and amazing Capri at home in Dallas -- engaged with a woman whose intentions were to set an athlete up for monetary gain.  She managed to acquire photo evidence of Andon in sexual acts with her for proof.  There was even video, but Andon learned of the footage and had it destroyed.  The damage was done, though.  Andon went on to Philadelphia from Arizona to play against the Eagles in season-ending win, where he clinched the NFL-high 15.5 sacks.  He returned to Dallas rather excited.  The team had missed the playoffs, but that meant more time with Capri, whom he was trying to plan a surprise proposal to.  Only, the surprise was on him as he walked into an empty home.  Capri had abandoned their home.  Nine days (from December 25 to January 3) was ample time to gather all of her belongings and leave.  Andon could never forget that night, what it did to him and his relationship with his better half.  For months, he could not find out where Capri Jagger had vanished to.  She wasn't missing; he knew the reason she was absent.  Capri had issued her sentiments via text message.  It's over, was all he could remember.  I know what you did.

He was drinking right now, sort of daydreaming.  Remembering even.  Nothing had changed except for the fact that he had found her.  Apology after apology, Andon has come up short.  No reconciliation for Capri and him.  She rejected his every word, his gifts.  Nothing was working in his favor.  What snapped him out of his trance was a woman touching his back as he sat the bar.  He lifted his head, smiling, greeting her.  The words were introductory.  A lot of head-nodding and smiling, even some chuckling on both of their parts.  She was blonde, possessed an amazing body with an abundance of cleavage on display -- which breasts were one of Andon's main weaknesses.  This wasn't harmful.  He thought so, anyway.  Capri wasn't having him back.  Not tonight, not now, anyway.  One night of just talking to someone, anyone, wouldn't hurt.  The Lounge was suggested to him, so he decided to pay a visit.  Andon ordered another drink.  151 and Coke for him and whatever the blonde requested.  Her left hand eased onto his right bicep, moving toward his shoulder.  He laughed at something she said, his position in his seat opening up to her.  Something in the back of his mind was speaking to him: This is just like Christmas, man!  Don't do it!

Ever since Andon Russell had come back into her life, Capri's world had been turned upside down. He was the last person she expected or wanted to come back into her life, not matter how much she may have still loved him. I need you. I came here for you. I want you back, these words had been echoing in her head over and over again since the day she made him leave her studio. There was no going back from infidelity in her mind. She could still remember the day she had learned about Andon's. Some strange woman kept calling her phone, which Capri ignore initially. Instead she prepared the home she shared with Andon for the holidays and his homecoming. Capri couldn't ignore the woman when she showed up on their doorstep with pictures. It brought her back when her father cheated on her mother, a fact that Andon knew, and how it tore her family apart. That wasn't going to be her, without a second thought she packed up and ended their three year relationship. The small town and dance studio was her saving grace, or it was until Andon showed up.

The morning she had was not a good one, once again thanks to Andon. A brand new car was waiting for her with chocolates and flowers when she left her apartment this morning. A note was attached to the flowers with simply the words I'm sorry written on it. He wasn't sorry though, he was only saying that because he thought that's what she wanted to hear and that would help them get back together. It wouldn't, she ended up giving the car to her roommate, who needed it more than Capri did. This put her whole mood down for the day. Some of her dancers noticed that when they met up together. A dancer's way getting out their frustration was of course to dance it out and that what they planned to do at the Lounge, along with have a few drinks.

The plan was to get all decked out and gorgeous, then head out for a night of fun and cheering up. Dressed in a sexy green dress, Capri entered the club with her dancers ready to let everything from the past few days go. The first place the small group headed was towards the bar, Capri kept it simple, ordering a Cosmo. While waiting, that's when she spotted him. Andon. She couldn't ever escape him.

Their (Andon and the woman's) conversation had evolved into minor flirting, predominantly on her behalf.  She recognized him from Dallas Cowboys fame and claimed to be more of a fan for his team than the Houston Texans, who were geographically closer, making them the "home team." Red flags!  Much like Chrismas night of last year, Andon's conscience warned him to be wary.  This was eerily similar to that night, too familiar.  Also, something didn't feel right.  Andon convinced himself to proceed with caution.  After all, he wasn't inebriated here like last time he found himself in this situation.  Yet.  "Yeah, oh, yeah.  It's .. nice," he answered.  The woman inquired about her top, gathering his opinion of it.  "It's doing its job."  Obviously, she was past a certain point of intoxication.  Most likely far past the legal limit.

She was definitely an attractive woman, as he was engaged with her verbally.  The drink she imbibed (purchased by him) had her suggesting they locate a darker section of the establishment to isolate themselves.  This was not why Andon had come here.  She grabbed his hand, and he stood anyway.  Something just was not right here.  The feeling he had.  And it wasn't the alcohol's effects; Andon was a professional at holding his liquor.  That's when he realized what it was: Capri was witnessing the entire interaction.

In one huge gulp, Andon finished off his drink, setting the glass on the bar to be collected.  His free hand was preoccupied by the woman holding it.  As his head was turning, his sight caught the neon green dress that happened to stand out, despite other attention-grabbing colors surrounding it.  Their eyes met.  Capri was there!  In the flesh and watching him what was seemingly in action.  She would have the wrong idea; she would accuse Andon being deceitful and lying to climb his way back into her life.  He was only going to deter the drunken woman, but what she saw, he couldn't explain from there.  "Hold on.  Let me get something else to drink and I'll -- fuck it."  He snatched his hand out the woman's grasp and made a beeline to the other side of the bar toward Capri. This wasn't what it looked like!

Capri watched him with some woman whose boobs were probably as fake as the blonde hair on her head. Why the hell was her drink was taking too damn long? She needed it, and badly. It seemed every time she turned around, there was Andon, a constant reminder of all the pain she went through only a few months before. Her Cosmo came and instead of drinking it slowly or enjoying the sweet drink, she downed it in one gulp. Looking across the bar only seemed to infuriate her more, she needed something stronger. Enter her good friend tequila. As soon as the bartender came back Capri ordered a double shot of Patrón, which came a lot quicker than her previous drink. The tequila burned her throat and insides, but it didn't stop her from ordering a Long Island Iced Tea. Capri drank half of it to calm her nerves, she would be regretting it later.

Drinking some more, she couldn't help, but glare at Andon and the wannabe Playboy bunny. Here he was at it again, not caring for anyone else's feelings except his own. There was a rage going coursing through her body, and she was surprised that it wasn't out of hurt or annoyance, but rather jealousy. Why was she jealous? She left him, there was no reason to feel this way. Jealousy meant that you still cared and Capri didn't care who or what Andon was doing anymore, but she still felt this way.

The debate that was going on in her head was interrupted when she saw Andon staring back at her. This night was supposed to be about having fun and letting everything go, now all she wanted to do was get the hell out of here. Seeing that he was making his way towards her, she made a beeline away from the bar. Her excuse to her friends was that it was too hot and she needed some air. There were so many people inside the club that it was hard to navigate her way around without bumping into someone. She was almost there when she bumped into the hard body of the one person she didn't want to talk to. "Fuck," she shook her head. The universe really had it out for her today.

When their eyes locked, it seemed as if time had frozen.  For Andon, anyway.  He could only imagine what was running through Capri's mind as she had drawn up the wrong interpretation of what she was witnessing.  When Andon took off after her, she took off as well, away from him.  Easily, he navigated through the crowd, while it appeared Capri was participating in an obstacle course.  Shedding blocks and chasing after a quarterback for five months a year was his job; Capri was the one having a difficult time trying to escape him.

"Capri!"

Why would she stop?  He didn't expect different.  But he would still call out to her in hopes that she would turn around and answer.  She didn't have to.  Andon realized she was heading for the exit and not just running.  He would cut her off, beat her to her destination.

Andon had sliced through the crowd, even colliding with a guy, sending him to the floor -- which caught attention of The Lounge's security -- which didn't affect Andon in the least bit, all so he could impede Capri's path to the exit.  Where she bumped into Andon, he had just arrived a few seconds earlier; his left arm immediately went around Capri to hold her in place because he knew she would only try to proceed on through the door.  "Capri, I know you heard me call you," he said.  He thought about his next words, determining whether to mention what she may have seen or not.  Andon assumed by speaking directly on that subject, it would make him look guilty.  He decided to wait on Capri to bring it up.  "Baby...."

That was if he had time.  The bouncers were headed in his direction.  Time to make front-page news!  Andon was already loaded with a mixture of beer and alcohol -- notably 151.

"Let go of me!" She hissed loudly, immediately trying to free herself from his grasp. The attempt was proving unsuccessful due to the fact she was a little tipsy from drinking so fast and him being much stronger than her. She, in fact, heard him calling her, but that only made her want to run more. Something she couldn't do now since his arm was wrapped around her and he refused to let her go. Why did this always happen to her? A few months ago, she would have loved to be in his arms, but now all she wanted to do was get out of them, despite her little bit of jealously earlier.

"Don't," she warned, giving him a hard look. Her green eyes piercing through him. It was becoming more difficult to get out of his hold, but it didn't stop her from trying. "Save it for the Paris Hilton wannabe over there," she seethed, still pretty angry at him for his infidelity and for talking to the woman at the bar. "I don't care." That was a lie since she was jealous over the fact the woman was with him. Speaking of, the woman that he was talking to was still sitting at the bar, as if she was still waiting for him to come back. He sure knew how to pick them. She didn't care or want to hear an explanation from him, she just wanted out. "Let me go," she half begged/half yelled. It seemed like a simple request, but there was more meaning behind those words. She was begging him to let her move on with her life without him.

The bouncers were slowly creeping up on them, but they were unsure whether this was a typical lover's quarrel that happened all the time or something more serious. They kept their distance and any hope of Capri getting away from Andon was slowly decreasing. She just couldn't win.

There was no way he could comply with her request to release her at this time.  Since he had found Capri that night in her dance studio, Andon hadn't been this close to her.  He needed time to explain the situation, because he didn't believe she had the full story of his infidelity.  All she was aware of was that he had cheated on her.  Maybe if she heard a sincere, heart-felt apology and an admission, she could alleviate some her resentment.

"I can't [let you go]," said Andon.  "I don't want to.  Paris Hilton wanna-be?"  It took him a split second to realize Capri was addressing the woman he appeared to be with.  "Oh, no, baby, listen... I don't know her; she came up to me!  I was sitting alone, thinking about you, thinking about us.  She came up and interrupted that.  Capri, I'm telling you the truth when I say I don't want anybody but you."  The entire time, he could feel her squirming to free herself from his grasp.  The liquor had spoken for him: "Stop!"  Andon's hold on her lessened a bit after her request, mostly because he detected the ambiguous meaning behind the words that time.  It was something different in her tone, her delivery, that told him she meant more than just letting her go there.

He acknowledged the bouncers approaching.  Andon threw up a hand to halt them as they walked up reluctantly, probably gauging how to act on him since he was larger than two of the three present.  "Don't worry about this!  We'll take it outside."  He looked at Capri and nodded toward the door.  "Baby, come on."  Andon have her a look that said: I'll pick you up if I have to.  "I'm loving that dress, too, by the way. You look incredible in it."

"Oh really?" She scoffed. "Yea because you were thinking about me when she was practically shoving her fake boobs in your face," she added sarcastically, her voice rising slightly at him. He wasn't sitting at the bar thinking about her. If that was the case, he would have turned Groupie number two away the minute she started talking to him. Capri knew him too well, if Andon really wanted to be left alone and drown his sorrows nothing would get in the way of that. It made her angry that he would use her as an excuse for him to see comfort under the skirt of some random girl. "Yea right. You two looked very cozy at the bar." Inside she was fuming. Despite his request for her to stop moving, she continued to squirm and move around to get herself out of his grasp. Something in his tone made her stop moving. It was so out of character for him to talk to her like that.

The bouncers still were just standing there, doing nothing other than keeping an eye on the former lovers. Why weren't they doing their job? It was obvious that she didn't want to talk to him or be around him. They were probably just either too starstruck or too intimidated by Andon's size to get involved. So much for them. "No! I'm not going anywhere with you," she protested at first, hearing him tell the bouncers that they would leave. Then she saw the look on his face and knew what it meant. Shaking her head, Capri finally agreed. "Fine," she said with clenched teeth and giving him a cold glare as she began to walk. If she agreed that meant she was out the door and could attempt to get away from him. "Don't do that."

She practically stomped out the club with him hot on her tracks. Steam was practically coming out her ears due to her temper. It was a mix of the liquor, her jealously, and anger at him. Once they were out in the parking lot outside the club, she turned around to face him. "What do you want?" Her face cold and her arms crossed. "Seriously why do you keep doing this?"

Clearly, he was in a lose-lose situation.  Capri's interpretation of what was occurring and what was actually taking place spelled disaster for Andon.  Because of what disrupted their promising future together, Capri would never again take his word over anyone or believe anything that could be misconstrued to the naked eye.  From her perspective, the damage was irreparable.  That was his understanding.  Andon would have to show Capri he wasn't who she thought he was.  The question was just how.  "You don't understand what you saw," he said, sighing.  It was impossible to win an argument here, especially with music and people surrounding them.  Not to mention the bouncers that were applying false pressure.

A small smile threatened to show itself at Capri relinquishing her stance and agreeing to join him outside.  He would have lifted right off of her feet, and she knew it.  Andon's hold on Capri's body was removed as she led them outside; he held the door open with one hand for them.  He glared back at the bouncers.

Now outside, Andon stroked his beard when Capri commenced her interrogation.  "You know what I want; you know who I want.  Why are you making this so difficult?  Capri, you know who I am.  You know I would never hurt you intentionally!  I'm doing everything in my power to get us back together, to get us where we once were -- where we were gonna go.  Can you let let me do that?"  Andon was constantly scanning his surroundings, observing passers-by.  He had only shown a more sensitive side to Capri.  To him, what he was currently doing was begging.  He couldn't see himself doing that to or for anyone else but the woman standing before him, who, by the way, look immaculate in that dress.  It was hard for Andon to take his eyes away from Capri's body.  He missed her intimately as well just their general connection.  A blind person could see that he was in love with Capri Jagger.

"That's all I ask.  If not, then you tell me what you want me to do.  If you want me to leave you alone, I will."  He had just called Capri's bluff to see if she would actually remain adamant on it.

The cool night air did nothing to calm Capri down, she was still as heated as ever. The words that were coming out of Andon's mouth only made her more angry. He had a lot of nerve saying that she was being difficult. He kept claiming that she was all he wanted and that he wasn't that person, but just moments ago he was back to his old tricks. If he was drinking along and not all over some other woman, she might actually believe him. "No! I thought I knew who you were, Andon," she interrupted. Her guard would always be up around him, there would be no close encounter like there was in her studio again. It would be just like him to pull another stunt like that. "The man I loved would have never hurt me. He would have rather chopped off his own arm than cause me pain." Her voice was rising with each sentence, causing a few people to look their way. Capri could care less at the scene she was causing, she was hurt.

"The man that I loved would have never cheated on me, knowing what I've been through." Her voice breaking and eyes watering. Not again, she would do everything in her power to make sure those tears were never shed, especially in front of him. She hated being vulnerable in front of him, it meant that she still cared, which she was desperately trying not to do. She was trying to move on with her life and he was making it difficult for her to do that with his constant attempts at a reconciliation. "No I can't. Especially when you won't admit to what you did!"

Was he being serious? Capri didn't know, but he was offering her a way out. She really did pause to ponder his question. Did she really want Andon out of her life? "I want you to leave me alone." She said, not giving him a chance to respond before she walked away.

Loved.  There were times like these where Andon acknowledged the small words that hit home.  In this case, they were magnified.  "Loved" is past tense.  She had blatantly informed him right then that she was no longer in love with him.  "But, Capri," he started, cutting into her sentence.  She drowned him out and continued on.  Andon's arms lifted in agreement with her, but he couldn't get a word in until she completed her statement.  "Exactly!  'Pri, baby, I've been beating myself up every single day since it's happened!"

Capri Jagger had issued her sentiments once more.  Each time she used that word of a past tense, Andon felt worse.  "Capri.  I know."  He was defeated; there was no words he could find to justify his actions following what she had said.  He was well aware of what she was referring to, with her parents and such.  "I can't admit to something I didn't do, Capri!"  Andon wanted to come clean.  He wanted to right there, but the situation wasn't right, he felt.  Plus, he was afraid Capri's resentment toward him would reach a newfound, higher level.  It was the wrong thing to do -- in his mind.  Andon had to convince Capri he was innocent.

She was considering his ultimatum, which was a positive for him.  It was rather encouraging that she hadn't answered immediately; that made Andon believe Capri was going to provide him with a second chance.  Suddenly, he was floored.  Her answer was the complete opposite of his expectation.  No words could surface as he observed Capri walking away from him.  That didn't go as planned!  "Capri!  Capri!"  He could care less about who watching him at this point.  "Come back here!  Capri!"
