Purpose This is a picture/voice recording posting forum for all self-identified FTMs, genderqueer persons, or SOFFAs. The content here is only of self-portraits and related vanity concerning the FTM community. Content Photographs, pictures and voice posts. Please follow the photo posting guidelines. RULES AND GUIDELINES
Respect Others. In this community there is no spamming, trolling, flaming, stirring up trouble, wanking or being disrespectful to other users. Trolling shall be defined as a) creating a journal deliberately to cause wank/stir up trouble b) coming into the community with the goal of creating controversy or attacking a poster c) using offensive or derogatory language to attack an individual or group. Posts whose main or only purpose is hate-speech or derogatory attacks shall be considered trolling. Offensive or harmful language that is inappropriate for a public forum will not be tolerated. No Spamming. Spamming is a) when you post content-less entries ('content' being defined as on-topic posts related to the subject of said public forum) or b) when you post more than one message daily instead of digesting them together. Combine multiple posts into longer digests. People caught spamming will either be banned or have their posting access removed. Use the LJ-Cut. To keep the community work, school, friends list and dial-up friendly, we ask that all pictures go under the LJ-cut. So, when posting a picture, use the cut. All pictures MUST be behind an LJ-cut. Posts that are left uncut will be deleted and replaced with a placeholder post in twenty-four hours. There are minors in this community so we ask that adult content material is not posted here. Please don't advertise for other communities or for e-bay items that are not ON TOPIC. Advertising includes role-playing advertisements, community advertisements, advertisements for sales and web-site advertisements. This is NOT an advertising community. By advertising or posting off-topic posts, you run the risk of having your posting access removed or being banned. We suggest that anyone seeking to advertise in this community please contact the moderators and we will place a link to your community or advertisement in the User Info of our own community. Please do not make posts solely for directing people to your journal for the purpose of selling/advertising mediums that may later be up for purchase. Please respect that this is not an advertising community. Stay on Topic. Please, stay on topic. This is an FTM picture/voice post posting community only. This is not a place for political discussions. Off-topic posts will be deleted and replaced with a placeholder. Theft. The theft of others' images or voice for personal use or the use of google images to create your own false persona is strictly prohibited and will be considered trolling as defined under rule one. Posting pictures in this community, however, is at your own risk and the community cannot control how your pictures may be used elsewhere on the internet. Constructive Criticism. Constructive criticism is defined as a) criticism or advice that is useful and intended to help or improve, b) an offer of possible solutions to a challenge or difficulty and c) a suggestion for improvement along with a suggestion of an item indicating triumph. If you are looking for constructive criticism on your passing ability/tips for general appearance, please request it in your post. If a post does not contain a specific request for constructive criticism, please respect that the original poster may not be looking for it. This community is a safe space for those looking for advice and those just wishing to share a milestone. Traditionally Offensive Language. Traditionally offensive terms are allowed as long as they are being used to refer to yourself (not to others or the group as a whole) for the purpose of positive reclamation and they are not being used in a negative or self-deprecatory context. Self-Deprecatory Posts. Posts dedicated towards insulting, belittling or undervaluing oneself are not encouraged or allowed.
MODERATOR ACTION
Deletion. Deletion shall be reserved for serious offenses such as obvious trollings, personal attacks, or off-topic posts. All deleted posts will be replaced with place-holder posts. Posts with valid discussion will not be removed. Freezing. Comments will be frozen in posts that have gone from discussion to inflammatory personal attacks or where things have gone too far off topic. Member Warnings. Member warnings will be based on the severity of offense and may include a written warning, a temporary posting ban or, in the case of trolling, a permanent ban.

Where can I get free picture hosting? To post pictures on the internet, you will need a place to host your pictures. We recommend Photobucket or ImageShack. Follow the instructions there to upload your pictures to a space and you will be given an address where your picture is 'located.' How do I post to the community? On LJ, to create a post click "Journal" and then "Post an Entry." Under "Post To:" change the name to 'ftmvanity,' which, if you've joined the community, should be an option. How do I post images? Use the following codes but replace "IMAGE URL LOCATION" with the URL of your image from, for example, Photobucket. <img src="IMAGE URL LOCATION"> How can I lock my post so that only community members can see it? Near the 'Post to ____' button at the bottom of the screen that allows you to update your journal is a small drop-down menu labeled 'Show this entry to:' In this box, select 'Friends.' This will ensure that your post is not posted to the community publicly and that it can only be seen by members of the community. How do I use the LJ-cut? See below. What's a voice post? A voice post is a Livejournal feature that allows you to call a specific number and talk for a bit and then post whatever you said directly to Livejournal. Who can do voice posts? Paid, Early Adopter, Permanent, and Plus accounts are all eligible for the LJ Voice Post feature. Plus accounts, which are free, put advertisements on your LJ page in exchange for certain features. You can set your account to Plus here. Remember, you can always switch back to having a basic account later. What's the first step? Head here and set up your voice post preferences. We suggest using "MP3" format. To do this, remember, you need a Paid, Early Adopter, Permanent, or Plus account. What's next? Call one of the many access numbers in the US or Canada and follow the prompts to begin making your voice post. It posted to my journal. I want it in the community. You can edit the entry that the voice post bot posts to your journal. There will be some HTML there. To protect your community or journal, follow these instructions. Go to the Admin Console. For personal journals, copy/paste the following set latest_optout yes. Then, click 'execute.'
