anyone want to hang out at the beach? :) Who: Johanna and OPEN When: June 5, 2049 Where: Innovo Beach Rating: PG I suppose to start. Summary: Hanna takes a walk by the shore. Warnings: None (yet!)
It was a beautiful day for a walk on the beach despite the gusty wind blowing off the water and Johanna was glad she'd decided to take the time that afternoon to visit one of her favorite haunts from college. She'd started off wandering along the boardwalk but the crowds of people taking advantage of the sunny spring day put her off for a change and she had found herself slipping away onto the soft sands. Usually, the excitement of the crowds appealed to Hanna but the change of pace was relaxing and the cool winds had discouraged most people from straying closer to the water, where the winds whipped the sand and sea spray around. There was the occasional person with their dog and a kite flier or two but for the most part, the beach was empty.
Hanna had kicked off her shoes and rolled up her jeans as soon as she had stepped onto the pristine white sands and that in and of itself was rather liberating. At first, she had enjoyed the way the wind had whipped her hair around but eventually, she had been forced to contain it in a ponytail, fearing it would take out an eye or something with its force.
The beach was beautiful and the ferocity of it on that spring afternoon appealed to Hanna. She almost wished she had gotten a place closer to the water instead of inland. Not only would she have easier access to the beach but she also could have avoided that uncomfortably awkward encounter with Aaron. She hastily pushed those thoughts aside, reminding herself that there was no way should could have predicted that. Besides, she couldn't afford anything nearly as nice as her new place at the beach just yet. Maybe once she settled into her job a bit more, made a bit more money, then she could consider moving closer to the beach. And if she moved out to the beach, she'd probably miss the bustle of the inner city, she thought with a chuckle.
Swinging her shoes, Johanna made her way down toward the water's edge. The water was sure to be freezing this early in the year but she couldn't resist the temptation to dip her toes in the water to see.
