Everything seemed to be simmering down and the wolves were starting to settle in ever so slowly. They weren't perfect and never would be, but considering of everything that had gone on, there was promise to move forward. Having being kept busy with everything in their pack, dealing with the newer wolves and maintaining her position, Lucy had little time to get her own life straight. Resumes were put in to various jobs, getting call backs and first interviews and not much else. It wasn't like the Beta to just sit around home. She needed to be producive. Productive meant earning income, moving about and doing some good in the world. Productive was not thinking of past events and feelings.
It was those same feelings that would cloud her head in moments of lonliness and silence. Lucy pushed herself more to mingle to help cope with whatever it was that she was feeling. She knew the consequences of being Beta, part of which meant being alone. She understood that.
But it damn near killed to not have anything said since that night.
Pulling her Beta courage together, Lucy headed towards Cole's room. She didn't enter right away. Instead, she stood outside his door for a few seconds, contemplating whether this would end well at all. It probably wouldn't, but she would have it out in the open with him and he would know and that was what mattered.
Tugging at the end of her shirt to cover her cotton shorts, Lucy slowly lifted her hand and knocked lightly. She heard a mumble and opened the door slightly, poking her head around. "Hey...you're back." She smiled and walked inside, closing the door behind. "Hope you don't mind me barging in on you."
