After having everyone write down on a piece of paper their top 3 selections and giving them back to her Hester took a few moments looking over the papers before smiling and looking back up at everyone.

"Looks like just about everyone gets their first choice."

She'll read off the slips of paper in the following manner, allowing each student to come up and grab their item as she calls off their name:

With the two items remaining she eye'd Ty and Mags for a moment before picking up both items, tossing the ioun stone to Ty she handed the vial of silversheen to Mags.

Around 9am a text message is sent each one your characters on the special phones from Professor Van Der Vinne:

"All items have been identified. Since you discovered them as a group I would like to meet as a group. Let me know when you all are free."

When everyone gets there all of the items are laid out with tags on each of them.

Professor Van Der Vinne then will explain the function of each item and how to use it. However before launching into that she casts "Comprehend Language" on any student who might need it. This spell allows the recipent to understand any spoken language for the next 3 hours. You can not speak any language but you can understand any language.

The first option is that each student takes and keeps one magic item for their reward.

The second option if the majority feels some items may be better than others and would like things to be divided perfectly evenly amongst each member of the group, would be for all the items to be turned into the school, which in return will offer 1 full year of paid: tuition, fees, books, school supplies (notebooks, folders, poster board, dorm room decorations, etc), dorm, best meal plan (3 meals a day +$1,000 USD in 'meal points' for snacks, drinks and extra food at the snack bar), $2000 to spend on weapons/spell components/other power appropriate required or desired course materials and give each student $5,000 USD in straight cash. Bills to make up aforementioned $5,000USD can be of the students choice. If you want $5,000 one dollar bills for strippers, we don't care. (Yes she does make this joke)

For those who don't want or feel any of the items are particularly helpful to them, but the majority votes to take the items, they can take an item and then turn it in for an appropriate cash value.


Professor Van Der Vinne will clearly state that some of the items do cost significantly more than some of the other items and asks that the group takes a vote for if they want an item or if they want the year of fees paid.

"My name is Hidekazu Takahashi," Takahashi says, bowing his head ever so slightly as he looks out at the mass of students who sit in front of him. He pitches his voice to be heard, knowing that while he has an accent, it isn't very thick and that all should be able to understand him. There are already a few familiar faces, students that he's seen in passing, but for the most part the rows of faces looking back at him are all strangers. Arranged by year in the large room, sitting cross-legged in neat rows, the students of Freedem stare back at him. "I will be taking over for Professor Jameson."

Takahashi is silent for a moment, saying a quick prayer for the dead inwardly as he waits for the murmurs to calm down. "I know it has been a trying time for the past week and many new adjustments must be made, but first I'd like to see where you all are in terms of knowledge. The curriculum states you should be at a certain place, but I would like to talk with each year to see whether there are any students who are behind or ahead of the class." Takahashi smiles gently, radiating calm as he turns his head towards the older years.

"For now, I would like for both fourth and third years to pair up. If possible, I'd like an older student paired with a younger one. Fourth years are to maintain their focus while the third years will try to break it. Powers may be used, but only at reasonably low levels." Takahashi's lips quirk slightly, wondering if he will have to chastise students for misusing their powers on his first day. It probably shouldn't be a problem with the older students. "Second years, I would like you to practice any technique that you have had much difficulty mastering. I will be coming around to check on your progress and talk to you after I have finished with the first years."

Again, Takahashi pauses and then he points at the ground and the lines which have separated the room up into four equal sections, each of them marked with a year number. He gestures at the two squares which are marked with the numbers three and four and take up half of the room. "Third and fourth years will be using half of the room to practice while I talk to other students. Second years will be in the corner behind you." He points to the corner behind where everyone is sitting, still smiling softly. "And by process of elimination, first years will be talking to me over here." He gestures at the last remaining space.

"Everyone move to their respective corners, please," Takahashi waits, watching the minor mayhem with an inward amusement as the students move to where they've been asked, waiting until he sees them settling into doing what he asked before he moves over to the first years and smiles, his expression open and friendly.

"Now, would anyone feel like telling me what has been covered so far?"
