SECTION PLOT EVENT

SECTION PLOT EVENT DAY EIGHT: AFFECTS GROUPS 1-12!


What seems to be a comet will pass through the sky tonight when the sky becomes fully dark. Otherwise, the day is uneventful in comparison to the past week. Sporadically throughout the day, random, pre-determined characters will notice a few things... maybe they'll hear things... but those characters' players have already received emails. It was a random lottery. No one who was not selected will experience anything out of the ordinary, sorry! There are NO exceptions to this rule. If you did not receive an email, your character was not selected. Selected characters are free to talk about what they notice with the others, but they are the only ones who can see/hear anything. To everyone else, nothing strange is seen or heard.

Tonight at 11:59 P.M. E.S.T., this plot will end, and everything will go back to the way it was before. The community center will have been magically rebuilt as if it never burnt down. Any houses or establishments damaged during the flood will be restored as if the storms never hit. The kraken and dragon, whether they were killed or left alive, both vanish absolutely without a trace. They are gone for good, and cannot be brought back.

Villagers will awaken to find the village back to normal. On the surface, it appears that nothing has changed. But eight days of isolation from loved ones, and life-threatening tribulations, will have undoubtedly helped forge some new friendships between the villagers. For now, all is calm.

SECTION PLOT EVENT

SECTION PLOT EVENT DAY SIX: AFFECTS GROUPS 7-12!


These groups hear a large boom and roar-type sound off somewhere deep within the mountains. You can try to ignore it if you like, but it will only get louder the longer it goes without attention. Organize an expedition into the mountains to find out what's going on! After journeying for about an hour into the inner passages of the mountains, someone slips and finds a hidden tunnel?! Time to go exploring.

The pathway is long, narrow, and winding, carved straight into the stone of the mountain itself, and there are no handrails so watch your step. Eventually the pathway seems to go deeper underground, but you can't quite tell - sometimes, you could swear you were going up instead of down. It is dank and dark inside. Use Lumos or a torch to guide your way. After what feels like forever, you stumble upon a hidden door that, pushed aside, reveals a tree larger than anything you've ever seen before. This room is impossibly dark, but from the ceiling hangs what looks like little lightning bugs, giving it an eerie blue glow. Not too bad, right?

Oh, by the way.

We forgot to mention the dragon.

We're not kidding.

It's awake, and it's angry. His eyes and body are weakened, but he can still breathe powerful fire and his tail is a weapon of painful destruction. Find a way to defeat it and fast. You can paralyze it, kill it, put it under a sleeping spell, or something else, but you'll want to get out of there as quickly as possible. Good luck!

SECTION PLOT EVENT DAY FIVE: AFFECTS GROUPS 1-6!


Everyone meets at the bridge -- it's a compelling urge you can't ignore! Someone in each group finds what looks like a passageway underwater beneath the bridge. It is magically lit from within, but you cannot see where it leads, as the pathway seems to curve downward after a bend. Someone who is good at swimming takes a look! He swims until breathing becomes difficult, but he encounters steps that lead up and out of the water. The steps go on for a short while above water and eventually lead to a muddy, dank path. The path will go on for about 3/4 a mile until the adventurer will find it impassable (it is blocked by large, gnarled roots).

Go back the way you came! But wait! As you turn around to begin the journey back, you find your pathway blocked by a Boggart. You must defeat it in order to proceed. Once you've overcome your enemy, you may begin your way back...and just before you reach the end of the underwater passageway, you're attacked by Grindylows à la Triwizard Tournament. Hope someone decided to go looking for you, because you'll probably need help. You can't quite tell from where it's coming, but something kind of sounds like Mermaids...

The pathway changed when you weren't looking! You've now found yourself in the lake. At least there is air up there, but you're face-to-face with something much worse than angry mermaids.

You've found a Kraken!

Yes, we're serious.

It hasn't realized you're there yet, but it will, and soon. Quick! Find a way to alert the rest of your group to come to the lake and help you out, before it's too late. Kill it, disarm it, paralyze it -- think of something, and get out of there.

SECTION PLOT: EVENT DAY THREE

SECTION PLOT EVENT DAY THREE: AFFECTS GROUPS 1,3,5,7, 9, & 11!


Severe thunderstorms cause the lake to rise and flood the village -- we're talking LOTS of water moving VERY fast! This problem cannot be solved by magical means. Everyone must get to the castle or other higher grounds. A few people either cannot swim or are caught by surprise (or are just plain stubborn and refuse to relocate), and their fellow villagers must help them! Here is to hoping that the people in your group are observant enough to realize you're missing, and nice enough to try and help.

A fire breaks out in the community center! Sorry, magical means are useless here. Work together to extinguish the fire. Captains need to organize and delegate tasks very quickly. Good thing the centre is near a river...hint hint...
