Severus ordered Blackie to sit still. The puppy obeyed with his tail still wagging madly at the prospect of going for a walk. Once the leash was snapped on the poodle's collar, Severus pulled on his cloak. Potion bottles rattled softly while he settled the garment about his shoulders. He lifted a second cloak and went to his office. He was hoping Thai would show up for this little trip.

Rodolphus found an old black cloak deep in his closet and pulled it on. A trip to the Shrieking Shack didn't exactly call for wearing one's finest.

He sighed as he walked down the corridor, knowing his son, he wouldn't accept his professor's offer. Ro only hoped that once Thai had visited the first time, he would be less stubborn.

He called for an elf, informed him to to let Rab know he would soon be back, then disapparated to the Shack with a loud crack.

When Thai did not accept the offer, Severus left the spare cloak draped over his chair and left. Instead of going to the main entrance, he lead Blackie deeper into the dungeons to a door his friends discovered when they were students.

Severus pushed the correct brick at a false arch then stepped through the door that appeared. He used his wand to create a light before the door closed. It was a quick trip up the secret passage and out into the night. Blackie was ready to romp and mouthed at his leash. Severus corrected him after extinguishing the light. He swiftly moved to the whomping willow. He was happy to hit the correct knot on the tree with his first attempt at levitating a stick against it. As soon as the tree was still, he led his puppy down into the passage beneath the willow.

"Ro, I am entering from the wall." Severus tapped where he was going to open the passage before softly calling out a warning. He did not relish being cursed for surprising his friend.
