Sid Demedici knew how to throw a party. This was only another extension of her natural predisposition to sociability and her years of learning underneath a socialite mother, but still, the girl'd done good. While there was no one in particular greeting guests, the entrance had been clearly marked, and refreshments (of the alcoholic and non- variety, along with a good deal of surprisingly delicious appetizers), were immediately available, along with music playing that Jack would have generally approved of, because you don't date Jack Sinistra and then throw a party with music he dislikes. It's just not a good idea.

The hall filled up quickly; it was immediately obvious that the journals had not been the only venue on which Sid and Thibault had invited people. And, all around the hall, people had masked interactions they would probably regret in the morning.
