Niamara Bancanor
I'm looking for a PB for Niamara Bancanor of Tamora Pierce's The Circle Opens books. The character in question will be around 18, and has a mother with "light brown" skin, and a father who is white, so her skin tone is described as 'the colour of brown honey'. She is slender, has brown eyes, and long gold-brown crinkled hair.

I've been looking around but found nothing so I'd appreciate any help. She has an identical twin... so a PB with two different looks would be grand, and a set of twins even more so.

I need to reread that series SO BAD. That and find a place to play George Cooper from the Lioness Quartet. ANYWAY.

Miley Cyrus might work, though I don't know if she looks a little young for 18... Not to mention a little modern for the series. Rose Byrne and Melissa Lingafelt came to mind too. They all, especially Melissa, have somewhat light skin though :/ I just think I pictured them because of the hair...

That or maybe Keri Russell but I don't know where to find any icons of her :( I should make some.

There's also! Emina Cunmulaj whom I just thought of. She doesn't have very crinkled hair, really, but she's still pretty decent for a PB me thinks.

Thank you so much for your replies, especially since you highlighted some great choices. Both Rose and Emina would be brilliant and I'll use one of them if I can't manage to find someone who is... like them, but with Keri Russell's hair.

Miley Cyrus would be amazing, but she's unfortunately too young and doesn't take any pictures where she looks older. Melissa doesn't really seem like a Nia/Jory to me, but I'll wait until I have access to that journal before I make a decision about her. Keri's skin is a bit too light for my liking, and because she looks her age it's a bit difficult to find decent quality pictures that would be appropriate.... I want her hair though. Seriously.

You should reread that series and then join the RP. We thought of making a Tortall RP, but stuck with Emelan because we thought Tortall might be a bit messy. I want to hug George. A lot. You should try making a Tortall RP yourself!

That's what I figured D: I saw Keri and was like 'NYARGH WHY CAN'T YOU BE MEXICAN OR SOMETHING?' and felt highly disappointed. I'll definitely continue to keep my eye out for you though! If I stumble across anything, I'll leave it here.

George is my love for life :( I need to find my books in these messes of boxes from moving.

Thank you!

George is much better than Jon, who ended up kind of lame (although every now again we a little bit of his awesome traits). Moving is disastrous for access to books... I've dug mine out recently though.

I was so relieved when Alanna married him instead - she would not be very good as a queen. I was always sure she would be with George but for about a book I was convinced Tamora Pierce was going to screw me over like Meg Cabot did with the Mediator Series :/

I can't believe that she married Jon in the original book. It's a scary thought, but luckily Tammy saw how completely wrong she was for him, and how utterly perfect George/Alanna really is.

Also, I completely failed at seeing this message whenever it was posted so I'm sorry for not responding!

I would have had to kick her butt. Really. I can't live without my George/Alanna shippyness being canon.

Haha, it's ok! I do that a lot ^_^;

SO UM, hi again - if I actually did/i> start a Tortall RP community (based either during the Dane or Kel series because um... er, just because!) wooooould you and/or your friends consider joining it? :) I've been really digging the idea ever since this post and while I totally plan on joining this Circle Opens RP (if you'll link me) I'd also really love to open that one as well if there was interest in it.

It's okay, you're allowed to fail at html because you like Tamora Pierce. The world works exactly like that.

The Circle RP is here, it's on LJ because unfortunately we're not entirely convinced of IJ's reliability just yet. Don't be turned off at the fact that there are only... four players so far (three of which are mods). We're committed to finding players but have been wanting to get everything perfect first. Not only that, but it being the only TP RP running/active at the moment -trust me, I've searched- means it'll take a while for word to get around.

I really would consider joining if you made a Tortall RP! I don't like simply playing out the events in books, so that might turn me off a little if that was the premise (I tried a DH RP and failed at it. Miserably), but if there's opportunities to expand it I'd hop on board.

I know a majority of TP fans don't touch the Circle books, especially the adult/teen readers (which is I think possibly the problem with advertising for the Circle RP) and I know a lot of friends of mine haven't read about Emelan but have been fans of Tortall since their childhoods, so they might be interested. I reckon there's a lot of interest out there, all that's needed is for someone to work.

If you need a few resources, let me know. I've got that many Tortall things on my computer for planning fanfic.

End monster comment of doom.

That comment made my life.

Thanks for the link :) I don't mind LJ so much so I'll definitely get on it ASAP. The fact that you're setting it up in the first place makes me trust your dedication to it 110%. So I'll get to rereading (Found the books! Shouldn't take me too long!) and hop on board the moment that I have an idea of who to play.

We have no intentions of simply playing out the book - I hate doing that so much. What's the point of rewriting someones work? We would just be picking a time to start with in which Alanna and company wouldn't be too terribly old but there would still be more characters then the ones offered just in the Lioness Quartet. It would most likely turn into a slightly AU like setting to allow people more flexibility on expanding their characters and plots and what-not. Sigh, if only they weren't like... 40+ in Tortall now we could just do it post-series. WOE.

That's lame :( The books are so amazing. I don't know why more people haven't read them. I've tried to get a lot of my friends to read Tamora Pierce. Little to no luck so far. They are the mega lames.

That'd help a lot :x I would mostly go off of my knowledge from having read the series about 20 times over, but some extra resources are super duper.

Er, sorry if this comment fails. I have had no sleep ROTF

Firstly: Words of Tamora Pierce
Secondly: Wikipidia (A little useful... the entries for the series you'd be looking at aren't all that detailed).
Thirdly: Wikia (isn't at all complete, but you may find something)
Fourthly: Tortallan Timeline

My personal thoughts are that I'd like to play during or post-Immortals (because although I'd love post-LK, there isn't much balance character-wise with all of three girls appearing as main characters and the rest boys, and you don't want the SotL people to be so old. Plus, it would turn into who-marries-whom, and that would get quite boring). The Immortals books were pretty vague about what was happening in the weeks where we didn't see Daine, and all of the SotL (excepting Coram) crew were involved too.

I hope I've made sense. Maybe. You've used 'we' a lot, so does that mean you've roped someone else into it too? :)
