Who: Colin Creevey and Audrey Nutcombe. (Dennis briefly mentioned). What: Preparing to board the train, issues take place. When: Morning of September 1, 1997. Where: Platform 9 3/4. Status: Open.
He hadn't pulled it from his pocket until they were clear of the Muggles, unlike the previous year. But now, as Colin perched against the train of Platform 9 3/4 just praying for breathing room, his music sphere hovered relatively serenely above his head. From it came what looked to be headphones, except they were on a second glance made from ethereal strands that arced like a tiny conduit against Colin's ear.
"They're letting us board!" Dennis squeaked excitedly, manically pointing and jumping to be above the heads of students well taller than himself. As excited, Colin's hand wrapped around the quintessential 'headphones' and tugged. They evaporated in a puff and the glittering sphere stopped its faint glow. Double-taking, Colin's own face blossomed into that impossible wonder and joy that just defined the two brothers.
"Brilliant," Colin chuckled, shouldering his bag. He began his shuffle into the lines to board the train, immediately shoved by a couple of larger Slytherin boys who- quite sadly- looked to be younger than him. But it rolled entirely off of Colin's back. He redoubled himself, notched his backpack into the groove of his shoulder and neck and prepared to get on. Skittering about, attendants and House Elves were already apparating the students' luggage aboard, which naturally perked Colin's curiosity. Did they apparate it onto the train, or just all the way to Hogwarts? Where did it all go?
Colin took a half step towards the area, briefly forgetting himself and his place. He bumped shoulders with someone and looked up with a wide-smile apologetic look. "Sorry about that." He said, looking to their face.
