    Upcoming Movies
With so many good movies coming out soon, what are you all looking forward to the most? I'm a little bit excited about The Lovely Bones and Sherlock Holmes. Although even further in the future, I will be ecstatic with the release of The Hobbit.

Some other movies that I am interested in seeing, but not sure if I'll go to theaters and just wait for the DVD release are:
    The Road
    Gamer
    Law Abiding Citizen
    Princess and the Frog
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

    Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
I watched the first Underworld movie awhile ago, but can't remember anything about it except that I didn't much care for it. Didn't see the second one, but the trailer for the new one looked really good.

I enjoyed it. Yay for vampires versus werewolves! I also liked the medieval setting of the film too. Loved the romance in the film because I'm a sucker for forbidden love.

Has anyone else seen it yet?

    Fanboys
I was watching The Big Tease on Reelz Channel and seen the preview of Fanboys. Being a geeky fan myself, I know that it is certain I will see this film when it comes out. Looks like it'll be really funny.

Anyone else interested in seeing it?

    Brotherhood of the Wolf
I've realized that I love this movie after seeing it for the third time. Each time I've seen this movie, I've liked it more and more. So I felt that it was high time I finally bought the DVD! At first you think it's going to be your typical werewolf movie, but then the plot gets complicated. I'm just really falling in love with everything about the movie.

Is there anyone on here who is also a fan?

    The Dark Knight
Does anyone else love this movie? I've seen it twice now and loved it just as much the second time as the first. How rare for a sequel to be better than the original! It met all my high expectations and then proceeded to completely blow them away! I thought that Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was excellent too.

    Jodie Foster
When I was a young teenager I adored Jodie Foster. The clerk at the video rental store told me that I looked like her too. But over the last several years I've kind of been distracted by other movies and other movie stars. Yet recently I've started watching some of the movies that I never got to see before or have come out in the last few years like Flightplan and Nim's Island. Last night I watched Nell and found it to be an excellent movie. Renewing an old love feels good.

Although there's one movie I still feel a bit unsure of whether or not I want to see it. The Brave One. I confess to a certain level of burn-out on revenge type of films, which this is what the trailers make it sound like unless I'm totally wrong. Would it be worth it to watch?

Wings (1927) on TCM Monday morning
Just wanted to mention that "Wings" (1927) is going to be on TCM this Monday morning at 5:00 AM Central.

Oh, and sorry I had the time wrong on "No More Ladies" which was on today (and I posted about a couple days ago) -- I hope it didn't screw anyone's recording time up. I have the time for "Wings" right, I double checked!

    pre-codes on TCM Wednesday morning
A Robert Montgomery marathon of films is on TCM this week, starting at 6:00 AM Central Wednesday morning. Most of these are some tasty pre-codes you can't find anywhere else. I'm particularly excited about "No More Ladies" at 3:00 PM Central. Check it out!

And to make this post pretty, a still from "No More Ladies":

    Lolita & Originals vs. Remakes
I noticed that the Kubrick version of the film was on Turner Classic Movies this evening. I seen that version a few years ago. I didn't really like it, but I can't remember why exactly. I like the remake better though, the one starring Jeremy Irons. I'm getting ready to watch that one again. Which version do you guys prefer?

Also what are your views on remakes in general? Good? Bad? A plague upon the film industry?

The Lolita audiobook is love because Mr. Irons narrates. ♥ I should buy the book even though that voice will end up narrating the story in my head now, heh.

And for those who watch TCM, does the commercial with Lolita on the side of the building with all those guys looking at her seem a little... creepy? Or maybe that's not the right word to use.

Broadway Melody on TCM next week
"The Broadway Melody" (1929) will be on TCM on February 4th at 11:15 PM Central. This is a super fun pre-code musical that's hard to find, so don't miss it. It's on after "Wings" and "Sunrise", two silent classics from 1927 - just don't plan on doing anything but watching movies on the 4th!
