[C.S.I.] Reenactment
Title: Reenactment
Author: Trio Maxwell-Chang
Fandom: C.S.I.
Pairing or POV: Grissom/Sara
It started out about the case. It started out as reenactment, with her pressed against the wall as the victim, and his body looming over hers, crowding her as he tried to puzzle out exactly what the attacker had done. That was how it started.
They were alone, the only two in the room. The others were running with other clues and theories, leaving them to work together. She didn't care what Catherine said. They worked together best.
But when his body pressed in, invading her space as he mimicked the perpetrator, it drove the breath from her lungs, left her mind scrambling over sudden random obstacles as she tried to keep up.
It started out about the case, with his body warmth seeping into her bones. Distantly, she heard him tell her to put her arms around his neck. Perhaps, at that point, it was still about the case to him. To her, the case had faded. She looked up at him, breath held as she waited for him to do more. A kiss, a touch, a word, and she would find hope again in those solemn, too-intelligent eyes.
When it came, it was nothing more than her name in a voice so soft it was barely breath given sound. But that was all she needed to guide her to the hope.
