The war was long over and life moved on, trudging through time that ran like quick silver molasses. Moments that slowed to where you could count the nanoseconds - watch it tick by like an hour.

For those who battled the sorceress, who felt compression around them, move through them - time moved differently. Maybe being immersed and bombarded with it, changed them a bit. As they strode through the magic, it seeped into them.

Those heroes could play with time in small ways. Pause it to take a small break mid-battle, speed through a dull meeting.

Time was it's own consequence.

He was barely called upon, often thought to be useless - spells more problematic than helpful. The one in yellow called him cute and carried Carbuncle in her head space.

It wasn't until the monster came rampaging that Carbuncle felt a tremor of fear tear through the one that was called Selphie. He rushed into action - nearly forced his way through to protect her. She called him forth and his protective reflect spell was cast just in time.

The Firaga hit but bounced back at the monster, damaging it enough for a quick attack to end it.

"Thank you." Selphie whispered.

The Sorceress is dead, powers have moved on and the new Sorceress, well, she has yet to come home. To the seat of her powers.

The floating castle hadn't disappeared, it still remains tethered, waiting. Granted, it wasn't dark and brooding - it's walls were lighter stone and it looked brighter, inviting even.

Squall had SeeDs watch it for any unusual activities but the reports came back with nothing unusual happening.

He could order his SeeDs but he couldn't stop Rinoa from going to the Castle. Couldn't stop her from walking it's halls and sitting in the throne.

Seated in power.
