The term mercy can be seen as being compassionate or kindly forbearance, or an act of kindness/compassion/favor, or even something that gives evidence of divine favor; a blessing.
It can be something that an adversary might ask for when they know they're weakened or if they're being sneaky and want to appear weak to gain the upper hand.
Does Seifer have an extremely ticklish spot and if it was found would he be the first to scream mercy or uncle? In battles does Quistis not hold back and mete out punishment without mercy?
