Author's Notes: This is set after the gang's stint at that lovely desert prison. I noticed that Barrett kinda became distant from Marlene, which is what inspired this.

He couldn't look at his reflection in the mirror after what had happened in the desert. His long time friend... He was really gone this time. Even worst, he knew he'd never be able to look at Marlene the same. She was never his daughter to begin with, but in the time he had taken care of her, Barrett had psyched himself out to believe that she was, in a way.

"Daddy?" She said, tugging at his arm.

Tears in his eyes as he looked away from her innocent eyes. "Daddy told you not to talk to strangers. Run along."

Last week, a mere 10 points was earned by the members of SOLDIER. Probably due to Zack's involvement with Kunsel. SOLDIER snatches the trophy away from Avalanche and puts it proudly back in their display case.

This week's prompt is #99 - Stranger

A stranger is neither a friend or an acquaintance, but they could become one. A stranger is also a foreigner, an interloper, or just someone (a novice) who is unfamiliar to a certain task - like "he was a stranger to martial arts."

Everyone begins life with as a stranger to the world and we make friends and learn tasks by being a stranger to them first.

Has Genesis just met a stranger named Sephiroth? Is Cid struggling to get acquainted with Shera? Are children running away from Vincent yelling "Stranger!"? Has Wutai just been invaded by strangers? Is Zack having difficulty with some of his new surroundings as a stranger to the SOLDIER program?

Whoever the stranger; whatever the strange task - let's become acquainted in just 100 words.
