“When I told you to think about a pet, this wasn’t what I expected,” Zack said.

“Why not? He’s well-trained, comes when he’s called, and is very warm and comforting to me. I believe that’s what you said a pet does?” Sephiroth asked.

“It’s just that…” He trailed off, looking across the field at the newly-freed recruits. One in particular looked up and caught sight of them, and then trotted over immediately.

“Besides, I believe he’s rather fond of me.” Zack looked at Sephiroth, and then at Cloud, who was beaming, and gave up.

Project Sephiroth exploded into motion, wielding the impossible sword as though it were lightning, weightless and untouchable. His lithe body twined with it, controlled it, was subsumed by it in a dance that might have been erotic if it wasn't so obviously a dance of death.

Shinra clapped Hojo's shoulder. "Excellent work, Professor. Shinra's first attack dog will commence service immediately."

The sheets on his bed were rumpled, not how he'd left them, and a pale-gold coil of sleek muscle lay curled in the middle. His pet lifted his head when Sephiroth entered, purred when Sephiroth sat down and allowed him to rest his head on his master's thigh.

"Little one," Sephiroth murmured, caressing Cloud's hair. "My little one."

All these are from the same universe that sphinxofthenile and I are writing for, even though they work as a standalone nonetheless. All of them are rated PG-PG13 at most.

So, Zack was Angeal’s “puppy” now, was he?

Not surprising, really, considering that the first-class was known to be an excellent mentor. Also not surprising considering Zack’s gung-ho attitude and willingness to please. It was only a matter of time before the two men got together, and the rumors started flying.

Annoying? Just slightly. It’s hard dividing one’s time between SOLDIER duties and friendship, doubly so when the friendship could be, should be so much more…

Sharing wasn’t really in his nature.

Neither was meddling: this was between Zack and Angeal, after all.

Still, Kunsel didn’t have to like it.

The lights went out in Midgar last week!  It was the only way that the Turks could ensure that they would keep the trophy for the second week in a row.  I think they have become addicted to that shiny cup sitting in their lunch room and that 30 point win proves it.  SOLDIER, due to Turk mayhem, became locked in the training simulators with their 20 points.  Avalanche tried very hard for their 10 points, however Tseng kept changing the passcode and it was hard to hack.

This week's prompt is #50 - Pets

Cats, dogs, chocobo, fish - give the characters pets! 

Would Reno forget to feed his fish?  Would Sephiroth warm up to a stray cat?  Does Zack have a dog or is he someone else's puppy? What is with Joe and all those chocobo?  Does Rufus feed Dark Nation only the best table scraps? Has Hojo found a strange alien species to call his very own? Would Genesis have snakes to go with those apples? Is Tseng allergic to Rude's new pet?
